It's easy to get in and out without the hassle of circling for a spot. You can park in the shade or not! The Gardens Mall first opened its doors on October 5, 1988, as The Gardens of the Palm Beaches…read more Developed by The Forbes Company on 400 acres along PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens, the two story, 1.4 million-square-foot shopping destination had Macy's, Sears, and Burdines as its original anchor stores. Over the next few years, it continued to grow into one of South Florida's premier luxury malls, with Bloomingdale's opening in 1990 and Saks Fifth Avenue following in 1991. Burdines closed in 2004 as part of Federated Department Stores' corporate consolidation and was replaced by a two-story Nordstrom in 2006. Sears, one of the mall's original anchors, permanently closed on February 29, 2024. This was my first visit to The Gardens Mall, and everything about it exuded luxury. Parking is plentiful and free. Inside the elegant fountains and water features, lush faux floral arrangements, and sculptures scattered throughout the mall lent themselves to creating an upscale atmosphere. The shopping lineup is equally high end with designer boutiques like Talbot's, Coach, Jimmy Choo, Tiffany, Lilly Pulitzer, Chanel, Gucci, Michael Kors, Louis Vuitton, and many more. When it's time for a break, the elegant Gardens Café food court offers quick service favorites like Chick-fil-A, Shake Shack, and Charley's Philly Steaks. I especially loved the mural that wraps around the food court called A Story of Florida. It depicts Florida's earliest history of indigenous people and the arrival of the Spanish and ends with a space shuttle taking flight. Full-service restaurants include California Pizza Kitchen, Cooper's Hawk Winery, P.F. Chang's, and Brio Italian Grille which all have sit down dining options. I liked walking around the mall and while I don't generally shop luxury brands I did check out the Hallmark and Yeti store. I would come back for a bite to eat and to take in the beautiful surroundings. Even if designer labels aren't in your budget, it's worth stopping by to window shop and enjoy the tranquil vibe while taking advantage of very appreciated air conditioning, which is so vital this time of year.

Between the tastefully upscale live music on the weekends, the fountains, and the palm trees…read moreswaying, City Place has the feel of an outdoor pavilion you'd find in Bal Harbour or Miami, and it has seriously leveled up since I moved here eight years ago. Losing Copper Blues a couple of years ago was a real blow, but City Place has come roaring back in full force. In my opinion, Eataly is the driving force behind the comeback and new palazzo vibes. You can wander the gorgeous market, shop, and then grab a table outside to dig into everything you just picked up. Restaurants come and go, but there's always something new, and always something worth looking at, eating, or buying. If I were a little younger and craving more daily action, I would 1000% want to live close to City Place, and all the new construction going up tells me plenty of people feel the same way. Add in West Palm Beach becoming the Wall Street of the South, and City Place really is like a mini three block slice of Soho, just with palm trees, warm weather, and bikinis.

This shopping center is anchored by ALDI and Big Lots! and also includes Payless Shoe Source, Dunkin', Subway, Cricket Wireless, Sal's Italian Pizzeria, TD Bank and Chase Bank. The corner has the traffic light and there are no special lights dedicated for the shopping center entrances. It's pretty well landscaped as most South Florida shopping centers tend to be. That means there are places for people to be out of sight so be especially aware of your surroundings. That said, the shopping center is in very good condition with plenty of parking. Strip malls are generally not all that exciting but I really love this one and I keep coming back…read morethrough the years. The large Delray Square Shopping Center is located on the corner of W Atlantic Ave and S Military Trail. It was built back in 1976 on 16 acres but it was renovated in 2019 with roof renovation, LED lighting in the parking lot, facade overhaul, and several new buildings Anchored by a Publix, there are wide variety of 37 businesses providing services, goods, and dining options. Tenants include Great clips, iDental, L.A. Nails, Humana, Mattress Firm, Planet Fitness, Walgreens, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Carvel, Tropical Smoothie, Red Crab, and Chili's. I like the Beall's Outlet and they just opened an Ollie's which is always fun to explore if you are on the hunt for bargains. You can bank, work out, grocery shop, get beauty, financial, and medical services for you and your pet, grab fast food, or enjoy sit down dining. It is one of those shopping centers were you can get everything done at once. It is also just down the street from one of my favorite markets, The Boys. The shopping center contains 28 stores including O' Reilly's Auto Parts, Dollar Tree, Ross Dress for Less, Rainbow, Harbor Freight, dd's Discounts, Eyeglass World, Aquarium Shop, T-Mobile, and Sprint. For dining there is a Chili's Restaurant, Chicken Grill, and Wok Crazy. There is plenty of parking. This plaza is clean, well lighted, and has good parking. Excellent signage with easy access in and out of parking area. While the stores fall into the useful category there isn't anything outstanding that would necessitate me to make a special trip. I was glad to find the Aldi's to run into but I have these same stores closer to home.

The shopping center is about 151,800 square feet and it has lot of vehicular traffic passing by about 38,000 cars per day pass by this mall, so the area is busy and there's about 150,000 living within 3 miles of the shopping center. In terms of restaurants, you can find Chili's, Keke's Breakfast Cafe and Miller's Ale House. Lots of parking.

The traffic pattern sends you north and to go south on Congress or East on the exit roads is next to impossible without making uturns.
