Onsite Parking Services who is apparently a Company employed by Old Town Spring towed my car on 11-23-25, dropped it off at Spring Auto Storage and on the receipt I received from Spring Auto Storage indicated that the tow was authorized by "Private Property Owner-Property Address, Anywhere, TX 00000-(000) 000-0000". In short, I was legally parked in a parking lot on 315-317 Gentry Street in Old Spring TX, my car was towed without discernible reason or explanation and when I attempted to contact the towing Company Onsite Parking Services the only option given to me at this phone number 281-616-5900 (none other is accessible) is to tow a car. I have no doubt that the tourist attraction Old Town Spring is quite aware of the practices of this Company but cares so little that the short term financial gains they share as a result of employment of this Company outweighs the financial gain of the vendors who lease real estate and compete for customers in the retail space. Both vendors considering leasing real estate for their respective businesses and customers attracted to such merchants ought to consider carefully this location. Merchants gained in excess of $200.00 in business I conducted with merchants in this setting on this particular date ( I have done similar business and more on numerous past occasions) and the towing Company employed to operate in this town made in excess of $350.00. I hope the vendors or Government employing such a Company will be able to offset the loss from the negative goodwill of review such as this. read more

A delightful old-fashioned down town. A great place to shop or dine or just hang out. It is a real throw back to a time before cell phones, and electric cars. I had my chakra checked, bought some toys for the grand kids, and had a snack. This is just a nice place to spend time with friends or family. It takes you back. read more

I'm genuinely mad at my fiancé for letting me live in Houston for a year and a half and not check out the Old Town area of Spring. He knows how much I love cute/quaint downtown shopping districts! I genuinely thought it was all strip malls around here for many miles. Needless to say, I love it. Charming and a pleasure to walk around. Relatively small but enough to see. Plenty of cute little shops and restaurants. We technically came during their Christmas celebration but I think you really need to visit at night to get the full experience. We did see the Grinch (I think he's only there for a select weekend) and I am angry at myself for not having my baby take a photo with him (much more her style than Santa, lol). Next year, I guess. I was also pleased to find easily accessible (and clean) public restrooms. I always have to pee so this is so helpful. read more

A bit of nostalgia, a little bit of old world charm, and some exploration all encompass the antique, small mom and pop shops and unique finds on the streets that make Old Town Spring. This neighborhood town is nestled in Spring, TX just minutes away from the Woodlands, TX and nearby Conroe. The town definitely compliments the fall and winter weather in Houston. It provides the perfect platform to get decked out for the holidays with Christmas decorations and lights, fun displays, and can't miss the candy stores, toy store, and Christmas themed shops! While some days are busier than others, most shops required masks to enter, but not all of them enforced social distancing. Heed with caution, but it's perfect if you have any out of town guests or just want to take the family and kiddos out to get some fresh air. Great thing is, you can do as little or as much as you want to. Parking: there's several areas that offer parking. Some you pay (small fee), some are free, and some accept donations believe it or not. We alway park at the gravel parking lot that tucked away behind some shops, but it also happens to be where the entrance to the OTS begins. TBH, there's so much jam packed into two streets, I can't begin to try and fit all the excitement onto a one page review. We got lucky with the weather the day we went, and we sat outside at Elms Magnolia restaurant, and by the end of the day, we had shopping bags in tow, and made one last pit stop to POPPS - Purveyor of Perfect Popcorns on our way out! It's decent for shopping but what I really love are the colorful structures and quiet atmosphere. I also enjoyed our stroll downtown and admiring the beautiful old American Architecture (1940-1950`s is my guess.) Great place for walking and family photos. It seems everything is closed on Mondays though as we were hoping to have lunch here. A tamale place and lil dutch girl was open. read more

We have went to this every year for 6 years since moving to spring, it's very beautiful I love the performers and I enjoy driving through and seeing Santa's home they left it up longer last year past Christmas and it felt so special. The tree itself is so beautiful and looks different every year. Last year Santa and mrs claus drove through in a convertible it was awesome. Hot chocolate candy canes letters to Santa. Less cold than New City Winter, for sure. Beautiful little Old Town section of Spring which has some nice elements to it and it's somewhere that we generally like to drive through when we have the time and are coming up to the Woodlands. If you blink, you miss it. It's mostly a bunch of old antique and quirky souvenir and miscellaneous shops that look like cottages. They have a great barbecue place which usually has a very long line and it definitely gives you a feel of old-time Texas and old-time America. I'm a fan. Literally. Turn me on, I'll cool you down. I am in shock that this is only 40 mins away from my house, and it is such a charming town. I felt I went on a mini getaway, and not have to drive too far. It really felt as if we were transported back to one of the cute towns in Colorado with all the shops and restaurants. Everyone was so friendly, and genuinely happy to help out. I really enjoyed the international flavor they had as well, shops from Germany, England, Holland, etc...The kids will love it too, they loved walking in the toy shop, it was one of the cutest, and the mystical store. Just South of The Woodland near Houston, this little area is like walking into the past. Although we only spent a few hours here we loved it. You can walk up and down the main drag and go into a toy store, stores with handcrafted items, coffee shop and other cool little family owned places. The vibe is very relaxed and all the merchants seemed really friendly. If you are looking to do some window shopping in a nice relaxed atmosphere, definitely check this area out. read more

Wow, Old Town Spring has finally gotten some good shops in it. For a while, it had become extremely disappointing just a bunch of small shops that didn't carry much inventory or anything worthwhile. Now, with some newer shops like Reclaimed Leather , and another custom furniture store along with a couple of new restaurants I was so pleasantly surprised! Of course "Thads " Wunchies " and "Lynn's Table" are ALWAYS a favorite! So glad to see a change for the better. read more

Luckily I have taste, so I know to avoid the tacky country bumpkin stuff and stick to stores with way better goodies... With that said, if you're not out with your Grandparents or family (lil' ones included) yes maybe Old Town Spring is not for you ... My kiddos and I definitely have our favorite spots down there. Here is our kid friendly list of spots to hit while shopping in Old Town Spring. 1. The Doll Hospital- Has tons of dolls new and old, we bought my youngest daughter one of those dolls that resemble your child at this store years ago. Baby Katherine (as the doll is called) was a great gift! Even as I approach 30 yrs old, I still love old toys, so this place scores high on my list. 2. The Bead Shop- This place had lots of different stones ( like Turquoise) for about $6 that I see being sold here in Houston as necklaces for about $30.. 3. Asian Antiques Stores- This store has cool stuff! It is much like the one in The Heights. Lots of interesting jewelry and beautiful pricey Asian inspired furniture will be found in this spot! 4. The Toy Store- Being a toy lover myself, you know I can't miss this one! This place has lots of educational and unique toys. My kids and I can spend about an hour looking at all the stuff they have to play with! 5. Connie's Bath Shack- This lady sells the best soap I have ever tried hands down!! It is to die for, really!! She also has a large assortment of rubber duckies and bath fizzies! 6. Deep Fried Twinkies Stand- I think this one kinda explains itself. This is your quintessential tourist trap. It has a bunch of small shops all closely bundled together in a small area that is easy to walk. What you'll find here are small gift shops that sell sweets, t-shirts, bric-a-brac, food, and a ton of artery-clogging but oh-so-good state fair delicacies. The Loose Caboose sells BBQ out of their, well, caboose. It smelled delicious but I did not try it. Then there are the shops that'll fry anything e.g. Snickers, Peanut Butter Cups, Twinkies etc. In addition, there are a couple of specialty shops e.g. German, Dutch. Inside each you will find a representative sample of their respective souvenirs and edibles. What you won't find here are antique shops. I was under the false impression that this place was rife with them. Apparently not. There are also some smoothie and ice cream shops and some other specialty shops like an Amish-inspired quilt shop. read more

This place is a tourist's dream during the holidays. Each quaint little house-turned-mom n' pop is lit up or decorated to make the entire area look like a Lifetime movie. Flip side of this is that service tends to suffer and food at some of the restaurants becomes less-than-appetizing. If you're new here, a local or just passing through, come during some weekday lunchtime. Old Town Spring is a ghost town during the week, but several of the shops and eateries are still open. They could use the business and you'll actually find a spot to park. Plus, it's just more relaxing to walk around the shops, browse and maybe even pick up a little something when you're not waiting in lines and bumping elbows. read more

So, if you're looking for some place to go and ding around for a few hours, look at gew-gahs and doo-dads and maybe get some treats and eats that are passable fare, Old Town Spring is pretty good. I would not recommend it for people with small kids, since many of the shops feature items that are breakable and you have a lot of traffic plus small stores and uneven sidewalks that make strollers rather useless. It is pretty good for adults. Especially adults that like country crafts and folk art. It used to be good for antiques, but most of those shops are gone. Now it's mostly painted wooden items and tons of cross art. You can still find antiques, but you have to look. The food places here are generally ok, but not fabulous. I do encourage you to find the kettle corn guy. He's worth the hunt. read more

I live close to this place. This is a small, rustic, friendly, old town located in Spring, TX. Here you will find variety of shops ranging from clothing, home decor, furniture, salon, restaurants, and many more. Each has its own unique vibe. Shop owners are very warm and friendly. However, the price is $$$ in my opinion. On a sunny day, you can walk around the town and visit shops. I tend to go by myself thus I have plenty of time wandering around the town, trying to find unique, affordable items to bring home. Parking is either in the visitor parking lot or on the street. Everything closes at or around 5pm. But check out the loose caboose and jitterbug coffee house. Jitterbug is a single origin house that brings in coffee from all over the world. They have a roaster out back and if you ask, they will be more than happy to show you. I was impressed by the hospitality that I was receiving on the first day of the year, it seemed that not everyone was feeling NYE like I was. The loose caboose, which is a caboose on one side and a hut on the other side, serves fried food and bbq and frozen margaritas all day, every day. It's a great place to walk around on a beautiful day. Lots of shopping, places to eat, and of course people watching. There are many festivals offered throughout the year: Crawfish Festival, Wine Festivals, Art Walks, Pet Fests, and Hot Rod shows. Food choices range from casual to fine dining. There's street food, fried stuff, sweets, tea rooms, comfort food, and did I mention fried stuff? Some of the best burgers can be had at Hyde's cafe or Wunsche Bros. For a sweet treat try a cupcake from Cake Swirl, a fried Oreo from the Loose Caboose, or fudge from the Little Dutch Girl. If wine is your thing, there are several tasting rooms. They mainly offer sweeter Texas wines, but Envy wine room offers bolder high end California wines. Old Town Spring had a lot of history and even a few ghosts. There's a museum at the entrance and ghost tours are offered on the weekend. I live nearby, and go often. I don't feel it's a tourist trap at all. I think it has lots of charm. read more

It had a feel similar to the village, but without all the major name-brand stores. Lot of small, unique shops if you're into that. Fried Oreos etc at one restaurant with a train car on the sidewalk that looked good and has live music. There is kettle corn popping at one square off of Main Street and the famous corkscrew BBQ down another street. Ice cream at Ellen's in the yellow house (I think it's one of the few places to get it). Parking on the street is free. Parking in the big lot on the map has a $2 donation box with restrooms. read more

I used to love going to old town Spring, but the last time I went I was SO disappointed to find that there were very few shops that have fun and unique things to buy in them. It seems that the atmosphere and type of shops has changed. What was once a place with women's clothing, accessories, home decor, jewelry and food has been replaced with shops selling New Age items like crystals and lots of shops selling the newest " snake oil" of the 21st century, CBD products.
