Their seasoned fries are awesome as well and their Philly cheesesteaks are delicious but WAYYYYY too small in size for the cost. I'm from NY and we would go out to Philly for cheesesteaks a lot and anyone out there would riot if they paid $13 for a small hoagie like this. Their beef cheesesteak was barely filled at all when I first tried it, but their chicken cheesesteak was definitely more filled but still very small for the price point. I also tried their catfish and unfortunately hated it because it tasted super fishy and you can tell it was from frozen filets. We also got their fried okra once and it was terrible. Super slimy and bland in flavor. Overall, we will be back for the wings and since I'm not a wing fan, I'll be back for the barely filled and overpriced, but delicious, cheesesteaks.

The burger was juicy and super flavorful, made exactly as ordered and even the bun was perfectly toasted. The onion rings are homemade and seasoned well. The hot wings were big, cooked well and had just the right amount of spicy sauce to be good and hot but still crispy. Celery and carrot sticks are included. The fried pickles were also homemade with a crispy, seasoned batter. The guys working there are super polite and my food was done about 15 minutes after I placed my walk in order. It was all so fresh that it was still hot when I got it home. I'll be back!

But my experience today at All-Stars Hot Wings on Kirby was disappointing, to say the least. I normally eat here, but today they were running behind, and it took 35 minutes to get my Philly steak combo. When I finally received my food, the steak was nowhere near -done. It was basically raw! I requested a refund and was told they don't do refunds and that I would have to speak with the manager. I waited another 30 minutes, never spoke to a manager, and left without my money back because I had paid cash. This is NOT good business! You cannot expect people to support your establishment if you're not going to provide good food, customer service, and accountability when something goes wrong. When we ask our community to support Black-owned businesses, we have to make sure those businesses are giving customers a reason to keep coming back. I want to see us win, but support goes both ways! We have to do better, hold ourselves accountable, and treat our customers right. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be back.

I'm glad I did. From the jump, I was greeted promptly in a clean, inviting space with good music playing. It has that classic mom-and-pop vibe, though the menu is a bit steeper than your average corner joint. I went for the Big Al's Cheeseburger combo (fully loaded with seasoned fries and a drink), which ran me just over $26. Now, $26 for a burger combo is a lot, but I have to give them grace--the 'Big Al' is a absolute unit. It was perfectly seasoned, well-dressed, and hit the spot exactly how I needed it to. The fries were the real deal: hot, crisp, and generously portioned. Even the fruit punch/lemonade 'kool-aid' mix was on point. Pro-tip for next time: Ask them to wrap the burger tight! It's a monster, and you'll want that extra support while you're devouring it. If you can get past the price point (which is just the state of the economy these days), the taste definitely makes up for it. Solid 3.5 stars--I'm rounding up to a 4 because that seasoning is no joke!
