Our bartenders for the evening were Brandy and Terri and I never saw them without a smile as they helped guests. The F&B Staff were - always attentive and willing to help with small adjustments. The water is hot. The people are helpful that five stars in my book anytime. I wonder if some of these one star guests ever smile or say hello to people when they walk into a place. Three or four might come back next weekend, but I'm done for the year. I'll see you next year Harold and Rebecca. This is a good choice if you must stay here out of necessity and to save money, but the town seems to have nearby boutique hotels that are closer to things to do. If you can afford to stay elsewhere, I'd recommend doing that instead.

The place doesn't look like much from the outside. At first, there appears to be only a small parking lot in front. However, there's a large larger parking lot in the back. The entire staff warmly greets you upon check-in. I asked how the name The Wick came about. We were informed that this facility had been an old candle factory. Throughout the hotel, there's silver plated plaques on the candle making machines. Our room was nice and clean. More than enough towels for a one night stay. A sweet welcoming note was left on the dresser along with a mini bag of Tate's chocolate chip cookies. The beds were clean and comfortable. The hotel does have a small bar and dining room for breakfast lunch and dinner. Nothing fancy. We did have a lite dinner the first evening we arrived. The food was pretty good. The vegetable egg rolls were really tasty. The Caesar salad could've done without the anchovies. The anchovy taste lingered too long. I had a side grilled chicken with the salad. All the employees make you feel welcome and are very helpful. The hotel is within, walking distance of the local train and eateries. As we checked out, Abby was a big help filling the plastic container with their Wick logo with lemon water and ice. Definitely would return.
