In my humble lay person opinion, I find immense distaste that this parish, with 4 priests, only…read moreconducts confession/reconciliation for a short window of time on Saturday mornings. In confession I asked the priest why they don't do confession before mass on Sundays, despite having 4 priests, and his response was disheartening. I pray that the church focuses more on saving souls, which is done in large part by confession.

im going into eighth grade and I've been here my whole life- here's a honest review- coming from a…read moregirl who's parents also went here. - so as in of 2024 we students have a new administration. Not only are they late but a bit lazy, yk? I almost got expelled for smtg I didn't do just bc of a rumor. (the rumor being that I kissed girls in the bathroom but that wasn't even me. It was one of my friends but they are so lazy to actually look into things. I was CRYING to the principal telling Her I didn't do it and she didn't care. She threatened to expel me! I had to cry to my grandma and she had to send so many emails just to clear it up) - Ive been going here my whole entire life bro and NGL it could be better. The school tries so hard to keep up a good reputation but they know that their students be doing shady stuff 24/7 AND THEY BE DOING NOTHING ABT IT!! And parents- Catholic School doesn't mean good students. TRUST ME these people vape, etc. they date, cheat, etc. but that isn't the school's fault. Neither is it yours, unless it is- -- - The teachers are nice though, however this school is changing more than ever- popular Teachers are leaving and the school is struggling to keep up. ‍ that's NOT IT. - AND THE TEACHERS CLEARLY HAVE FAVORITES and use biased information to their ability... - I always hated the strict rules and the mysogyny. Like they changed the TIES for what? Just because they weren't feminine enough?! -- - And it's ridiculous that they expect small children to act like robots. like bro- why do six year olds need to repeat the rosary so many gosh darn times . Also- this school just made me want to not be Catholic. I mean like I secretly left the religion in 6th grade. - AND don't get me STARTED on the classes, etc. sure, they teach good education. They teach students to be respectul. But how abt ppl who are special needs? WITH ADHD? Or the gifted kids? They do a poor job on that. - I mean sure- I love this school. I've been going here since I was pre-k. But it's 2024- soon 2025. Parents, it's best to place your student in a public school. So many parents had such bad experiences here, the new school administration is slacking, and the rules are basically still the same as when they made the school back in the 1960s. -- - I hope yall can understand. I hated the competition Here. peace out Also I ain't going to Catholic High School for anyone wondering ‍

Controlling and Communism at ASBC? I have attended ASBC for almost 30 years. There have been 4…read morepastors over that time. I have respected and trusted the former ones biblically. The current one has a style of leadership that has made me pause and wonder if it is a fit nor me now. Covid has affected every church, ASBC was one of the first to reopen in the area over 1 year ago, but with many restrictions. They have loosened up a little but still seem to have many state restrictions that have no medical or health benefits. Other changes was sneaked in and have disturbed me. It may be just me. 1. Bible study life groups are an important core of ASBC. It is a way to get to know a small group in a large group. When the pastor came about 6 years ago, he offered the option for the Life Groups to pick our own Bible Study Class info and books or use a study he chose. Option seems good. The pastor started a new about 2 year sermon study in Jan 2021. He now changed the Life Groups to be required to study only based on his sermon that week. He also provided the information to study that he wrote. No free choice in that anymore. (His indoctrination?) 2. Also tithing and Giving is very important to ASBC. In the past, You could tithe to any of the missions, pantry for the needy or regular church expenses you chose. I was unhappy to find out recently that the only option offered for donations is to the "Forward" program started about 2 years ago. (I didn't understand how that came about and my questions about that were ignored). I guess the pastor decides where your $ goes. That sounds a little too communism/ socialism than I prefer. I have decide to give the $ I would be giving to ASBC, to other Christian Organizations with common goals and beliefs. I like to be able to decide this for myself and not give that decision to others.

If that works for your schedule, I highly recommend it. She absolutely loved it. She worshiped the ground her teacher, Mrs. Johnson, walked on. I'm not religious, but I did go to Episcopal Church as a kid, which is partly why checked this place out at first. The day school is just a really nice, nurturing environment--both physically and in terms of the teachers and the activities and everything. They get to do music, which is great. At the end of the year (or maybe it was Christmas, I can't remember) they put on a little show where the music teacher plays piano and the kids sing songs and perform. It was freakin' adorable.

The programs and teachers are very nice, my niece loved going to school everyday. The reason I only give this school 3 stars is due to the office staff. My family was referred to this school by a family very close to ours who had sent all her children there in the past. We were warned that Janet Brown kind of came off as rude to some people but to let it go because it probably wasn't intentional. That was true, on multiple occasions she came off as very rude... And it was let go multiple times, but eventually it wasn't possible. She is very defensive which makes expressing any personal concern with her very uncomfortable. If you are not a two parent family, with a normal schedule and you don't appear to be well established then you will be treated that way... The school alienated my sister and I based on the fact that we appeared younger than most of the parents regardless of how successful and responsible we were and because it was just us taking care of the child instead of a mother and father. Every family it seemed had a relationship with the staff at the school, one that was approached and developed by the staff, except for my sister and I. I thank God every day that my niece never expressed anything about her being mistreated or alienated, as far as we know she was treated equally and that is all that ultimately mattered at the end of the day.
