Been at ODU for 3 years in their Education Program. Good school, bad parking but they have multiple campuses!

Pros- I love how quiet this place is and how fast and efficient the computers are. Internet here is never shoddy. Everyone that comes here comes here to study so you really get this studious feel. Minimal distractions. Really the spot for studying. Cons- parking. I don't have classes this semester on campus ! I take most of my classes online or in person at SECEP. This means I don't have a parking pass so guess what !!! I'm always having to bring tons of coins with me and when I'm spending an evening here .. I constantly have to walk out to the meters to put in more coins in and honestly .. it's a hike when you're under a time crunch. Also .. there isn't much metered parking to begin with ? Sometimes I come here (aka finals week) and there's only one metered spot left. Maybe next semester I'll just bite the bullet and buy a parking pass (it's over priced btw in my opinion) for the convenience especially because I really love going here to study but I really hate the parking situation.

If you're a business major you will most likely be visiting this building. Took some classes here…read morewhen I was at TCC, you must have a decal to park here since it is an ODU establishment. For anyone planning on going to TCC and transferring to ODU in the VB area this is something to consider (keep reading). It's also affiliated with NSU, that's as far is I know since I'm not a student there. The classes in currently taking are distance learning and in person. Now that I'm attending ODU, I really learned to appreciate the Higher Ed Center. I commute to ODU's main campus out in Norfolk and it's such a hassle considering the fact that you have to go on the highway, pray you find a parking spot (parking in Norfolk sucks), and make it to class on time. During the winter times the circulation in my legs froze midway walking to the Perry...it's not fun. If you're always on the go, works full time, and wants to save money -attending classes here is your best bet. It's on the smaller side, two stories, they have a tiny ODU/NSU library with computers and tables, Wave Cafe that serves Filipino food, and you can get your parking pass here too ($124/one semester). They do have people that check your decal so beware! I learned my lesson the other day bc I thought I was being slick parking in a discreet area next to a tree. Walked out and saw that darn piece of paper on my windshield and my hard earned $15 bucks out of pocket.

One of the worst experiences I have had being a parent, is dealing with enrolling a student in…read moreclasses into TCC. From the git go, the website is horrible. Missing links, dead ends, poor flow. Searching for classes is complicated and just plain tiring to deal with. Going in for help is even worst. You get different answers from different people and all seem to be incorrect anyways. Everything is just so complicated, I can see why students are giving up and looking elsewhere. My frustration level is at an all time high with just trying to get my kid classes at TCC. Do better TCC!

Usually you either have to end up teaching yourself and just using google to get the answers you need. The campus in and of itself is neat, they have some cool programs to help out students in need of certain things, like if you need a computer, they give out free laptops and stuff, the student center is pretty nice too. What I don't like about that is that if you're not currently taking classes, you can't go inside the building, like, what??? We paid all this money to go here, at least let us use the facilities for a year or two after finishing our degrees.

I was advised to sit on this review before posting it but even after waiting I'm still disappointed…read morewith the level of service I received from the Welcome Center and Michael K. Hendricks at Regent. Without going into too much detail have you ever had the feeling that someone just doesn't want to help you. That was exactly the vibe I got. I was trying to assist someone with a relatively minor issue but instead of providing clear guidance I was met with vague responses like We can't help with that or Let me reach out to someone who might be able to assist. Eventually they brought in Mr. Hendricks but unfortunately he was no help either. I couldn't tell if he genuinely didn't know how to assist or simply didn't want to. His suggestion was to have the person in question contact him directly, which we did one min later. The person called multiple times, left messages on both his business line and mobile, and even followed up via email. No response!!! The lack of follow through and willingness to assist was extremely frustrating and left a very poor impression. Please don't advise to be a military friendly school if you are going to treat people like this. Help fix the issue not make it worse or give us a run around, do better!!

I waited to post this review, as I did experience tons of positive interactions with the University…read moreprofessors. My consistent issue was with the Business office each semester. I later was told by university staff (in 2024) that there were only two people working in the business office. The lack of man power accounted for the long or non-existent communication times. However, the business office is not why I am writing this review. As of 02/27/2026, I am 4 credits away from graduating from Regent University. I was originally scheduled to graduate last summer. This is my second master's degree, so I am paying the majority of my tuition out of pocket. Up until February 2025, that was not a problem. I am self-employed, and in February 2025 I had to make two trips back home as my father was diagnosed with cancer and quickly passed away, causing me to miss working half of the month of February. I believe my GPA is around 3.78 and the semester my father passed I still received over a 3.5 GPA. I fell behind on most of my bills due to being off work and having extra travelling expenses on two occasions in less than 30 days. I applied for scholarships and all to no avail. Since I was so close to graduating, I was told by either the financial aid office or the business office to reach out to the head of my department to see if they had any additional departmental funds that could assist with my overdue balance, which was under$1500. I sent an email and heard nothing for a couple of months, after a follow-up email I was told to submit a scholarship application (although the date for the scholarships had passed) so that they could have basic information and demographics to try to find a donor, alumni, or any other scholarship or grant that they could find to assist me. I submitted the application and sent an email informing my contact that it was submitted in August 2025. As of 2/27/2026, I have heard absolutely nothing, and my balance has been submitted to collections. As a student in good standing, who is already working and excelling in the industry in which I was obtaining my degree in, and only 4 credits away; I expected some form of communication, even if it wasn't favorable communication. It saddens me that I got so close to graduating and after asking for assistance (something I don't do personally), I was ignored and treated as a stranger, not a student who never had issues paying my tuition for two consecutive years. This situation has added sadness to an already devastating time. It really is unfortunate added to the frustration of dealing with the understaffed business office during my time as a student. These experiences have left a very sour taste in my mouth for a University I once loved and spoke pretty highly about.

When it comes to them taking the time out of there day for one-on-one attention to help you better understand they are there for it all! The school on the other hand isn't. I was charged $300 on my FASFA for a laptop I didn't need I already had one. Since October of 2021 I have told them about it and nobody has help since. I told the president of the school and even the accreditation Board. The woman from the accreditation board made it seem like it wasn't a big deal and she would help but didn't care at all. As a student I haven't felt heard and felt like I wasn't taking seriously. Not only have I had problems with the school but more student in the program with me have. The staff changes so much because I everyone is always quitting. As I first started I was 3 months pregnant. As my due date became closer I was always asking how my classes where going to be effect with me being out 4 weeks. My director was always saying oh don't worry we'll handle it when the time is closer. When I had one month left, I was told if I take 4 weeks off for maternity leave my classes would be put on hold and I wouldn't graduate in September. After contacting the college for more information, an admissions representative named Michael…read morecalled me to discuss more about the program. It was an immediate red flag when he informed me that all of the information I needed about the price of the program, prerequisite list, and program course list required a tour of the campus and an on-campus meeting. It felt like being at a car dealership and being required to test drive a car and run a credit check before being provided with the price of the car. It's a manipulative business practice that relies on a psychological phenomenon called the sunk cost fallacy. In short, the more time and energy you waste on something, the less likely you are to walk away, because you'll feel like it was all for nothing. You stick around hoping that there will be a payoff. They know that. I emailed him and canceled our standing appointment for the following day in VERY clear language. He responded and acknowledged. The following day, he reached out to me to inform me that he was expecting me at the on-campus meeting. I assumed it was an automatic text or something, so I ignored the reminder. After the appointment time passed, he sent me yet another text and email both expressing his disappointment that I didn't show up and inquired about whether or not I was interested in the program. I realized that I now felt like I was going through a bad breakup with someone who needed me to breakup with him repeatedly because he didn't know how to accept no. Buyer beware: This reeks of a for-profit diploma mill.
