We stayed in the Ole Miss room on the ground floor, which is large and comfortable with an adjoining enormous bathroom. The house sits on many shaded acres and is a short drive to historic downtown Clarksville. A delicious breakfast of fresh baked bread, Dutch cheese, egg soufflé, sausages, fresh squeezed orange juice, homemade jam, and strong Dutch coffee was served in the dining room. We enjoyed hearing from Martyn a brief history of the historic property, as well as their adventures searching, purchasing, and updating the quarters. What a treat! A 1910 home with grand rooms, high ceilings and filled with charm you will never get from a corporate chain. The rooms were lovely, spacious and the bathroom was gigantic with a beautiful claw foot tub. Breakfast was served in the grand dining room with a large fireplace. We were served coffee, tea, 4 different juices, fresh baked pastries, quiche, yogurt, bacon and more bacon. We felt like royalty. Our only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer. We were only in town for one day. The Inn on the Avenues was an amazing stay and we whole heartedly recommend you choose this place over any hotel/motel. The price was great, food was delicious, the owner was as kind as could be and it was an unforgettable stop on our vacation. We look forward to our next stay here.

Jim and Christine were amazing hosts they made sure we were warmly greeted and well fed. Breakfast was amazing more food than I or my husband could eat! We had cheesy eggs, sausage, fruit with yogurt, potatoes and your choice of tea, coffee, hot coco and a juice. They exceeded my expectations on quality and presentation. The butter even was shaped like a swan. I think when a place takes such pride on the details you know that you are in great hands. We stayed in the wicker room which was perfect. We had a private bath and shower. The room had a TV w DVD player and sat cable. The room was perfect and I slept like I was in my own house. The host, Pickett, is warm and welcoming and very eco-conscious. When we were there a new farm of solar panels were being installed.. Oak Grove takes you back in time to the early 1800's, over generations of Pickett's family - details of which Pickett shared, to our delight. Pickett gave us a tour of the plantation house and the guest rooms are just lovely and very well-appointed. We stayed in the "Library" - beautiful room with books of yesteryear lining the walls..and a very comfy bed. Breakfast was wonderful! - banana smoothie, fruit salad, spinach omelet, freshly made breakfast rolls and great coffee! My "grand-dog" romped around the plantation acres with Pickett's standard poodles, Bonnie and Nico and had a ball. I WISH WE COULD HAVE STAYED FOR DAYS! Thank you Pickett!!
