Granaray Antique Mall has two levels and lots of offshoot rooms to explore! Cases, rows of shelves, and furniture! This is the mall that I would call a "guy's mall!" A lot of dark wood, brass, antlers, etc. But there's something for everyone here too... Everything from smalls like jewelry to furniture that probably weighs several hundred pounds. I picked up three brass firehose nozzles priced at $20 ea, but the vendor had their case marked at 50% off. Nozzles that should have been $30-$40 ea market value I walked away paying $10 ea. I left happy. Well worth the 1+hr trip from the Des Moines metro to Walnut on a beautiful Friday before Memorial Day! This shop just wasn't my cup of tea and I can't really explain why... Maybe it was because we were at the end of our day? This was one of our last stops in Walnut. Maybe it was something in how the merchandise was displayed...? Even though Corn County Antiques wasn't one of my favorites...it might be yours! I'd encourage everyone...if you're in Walnut... Has multiple artists that display there work here that you can buy and most of it is reasonable. Antique stuff is a little pricey but if you are looking for the right thing to help with decorating or place or a fun gift for someone this is totally the place!

I won a few items that i had shipped to me . The packaging was not well done there was no packaging…read morematerial in the box to protect items . My stein that was delivered in its original box and broke while enroute to me. I reached out to the auctionhouse to file a claim because they required me to insure it. By the time they sent me an email i had discarded the box with the label on it. So she wrote back to me that nothing can be done now because USPS will not accept a claim without the original label. They required me to pay for extra shipping (which cost the same amount as my whole won lots), packaged a breakable item without material or the words fragile on the box and now will not tefund me at least the item broken. Bad business and good riddence to them.

But the owner at Mabel's Old Fashioned Rose was the nicest and most helpful person in Walnut! He asked us what we were looking for, and right away showed us a couple pieces, and gave us suggestions of other thing we could add to our collection. We were pleasantly surprised by how huge this location is and the versatility and value of the selection. There was truly something for everyone here, and for perspective I went with my boyfriend (we are 22) and my parents. We all have vastly different interests so antique locations focused only on furniture don't interest me as much while stores with lots of kitschy knick-knacks aren't always my dad's forte -- well, this place truly had it all, AND the prices had us speechless. Maybe we are used to Omaha pricing, but many of these antiques are upcharged insanely not only in bigger cities, but online as well. I found myself purchasing goodies and searching for more info, just to find prices doubled online. We picked up so many great finds and had the best time looking through all the sections. The main building has some amazing and great value priced furniture, china, and all kinds of memorabilia. I got a Marie Antoinette-esque china figure, a Romeo and Juliet soundtrack vinyl (for only $1), a book, and some various glassware pieces. It was only $35 for everything which left me shocked and very pleased. The car section was also super interesting and fun to browse. They have a great selection and the gentleman working in there was very nice and open to questions. The ladies up front were also very sweet and checked in on us. We overall had a great time at this antique store and I would definitely recommend checking it out!

This past week took us from the Des Moines IA metro to Lincoln NE...and then back and forth between…read moreLincoln and Omaha several times. Somehow we ended clear up in Missouri Valley IA...! I think we were searching for "antiques nearby" on Google and the combination of antiques and classic cars caught our eye... So we made the drive up. The shop is basically seperated into three differenct sections. The main section you walk into is the classic antique shop. Standard rows of vendor booths... To the Right of the main shop through a doorway it opens up into another large area...this is a more rustic section. Lots of furniture and rough merchandise. Then there's another doorway in this section that leads you further to the Right to the cars. Some items are priced a little high, some are market, and there are some good deals too. As with any shop who rents space to vendors...it's the vendors who control their pricing. And it's going to vary depending on each seller. The main area is nice enough. The rustic area is kind of like digging through a barn... The classic cars... This section is a little more congested than I expected. Don't expect an immaculate show room. It's more like a carpeted garage space that is stacked bumper to bumper that you have to maneuver your way through. Not quite bumper to bumper literally...but hopefully you get what I'm saying. Lol The staff was exceptionally friendly. A young gentleman greeted up as we walked in the door and gave us direction on the different sections of the shop and how to navigate from one to the other. All in all it's a decent little store worth the stop if you are in the Missouri Valley area.
