The Spud Jr - The Del. Scrumptious

Absolutely love this place & for so many different reasons. First the food is absolutely…read moredelicious!!! We would drive here just for the poutine, and the burgers are spectacular- smashed with an excellent bun and perfectly cooked. Today I had the homemade chips and they were perfect, while the boy had his with a pile of fries. The service is always fast and friendly and s they are always checking to make sure you have everything you need and always topping off drinks. Beer selection is also great w wonderful IPAs on tap. However, I think I like the "unity menu" the very best. "If you are hard up and need a little help, let your server know you are ordering from this menu and there will be no bill or questions asked. Sometimes we all need a little help". Many reasons why we eat here every single time we are in town.

Service: The server we had was loud asf, but kind. He was nice and took our orders pretty swiftly…read more The food too about 20-25 minutes. 7.5/10 Food: honestly, bland. It tastes like every other casual fast food place. The fries here taste a mix of bacon and fries, which threw me off so much. 4.5/10 Ambiance: it was okay. Seating was of an office building, there isn't too much seating. Lot of wasted space. 3/10 Price. TOO EXPENSIVE. We had 3 orders of burgers with fries and 1 other of mac n' cheese with a sandwich. YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT COSTS $119?! THIS IS A RIPOFF FOR MID FOOD. 1/5 Total: 16/35

We have dined twice at Ruttger's and loved the food. Our server, Dennis, was amazing! He was…read moreattentive and even made my husbands's birthday special. He's one of the best servers I've had in my dining experience, so ask for him when you go. I had the walleye tacos and my husband had the bison burger. We also got a Caesar salad and highly recommend any fries they offer- sweet potato and truffle fries were incredible- hot and crisp, just the right amount of seasoning. The kids both had cheeseburgers and everything was cooked perfect, fresh and seasoned well. (Hence we came back a second time.)

We've stayed here and eaten here every time we are in Bemidji. However this time, both visits were…read morenot as great as the last time we were there. The first visit on this trip we ate outside on the deck. Great weather, great view. We ordered walleye fingers for the table, they were delicious. We also ordered the hummus plate and stuffed dill pickles. The hummus platter was great, especially if you're looking to eat something light to eat. The stuffed dill pickles were good, but not what we expected. On another day we ordered the caprese bites. They were awful. Frozen battered cheese warmed up and placed on top of a thin tomato slice and basil leaf. For entrees both days we ordered a walleye sandwich - good, walleye tacos - good, Black & bleu burger - good, Thai chillie chicken salad was ok. The service could be better. Both days our servers were frazzled, and we had to hear how overwhelmed they were. When asked a simple question earlier about seating, the restaurant manager answered very snappy. The view is great, and the food is ok.
