So you know where I'm coming from...I visited Faith Church for the first time today. I'm sad to say…read morethat I had to walk out, I didn't feel comfortable with what was being preached on the platform. During the sermon when Pastor Jones was preaching, he related Satan as the 'bad guy' in the Bible & how he's a lot like The Joker & Darth Vader along with other villains. Then he shows clips of the movie: "Batman Begins" during his preaching. He read 3 scriptures in the 20 min. we stayed listening but he didn't interpret the scripture or explain much from The Bible or preaching from the word of God. He continued to talk about (his own thoughts) & different characters in movies along with relating it to our daily lives. I wanted to give the Pastor the benefit of the doubt & that's why we stayed as long as we did. I didn't want to walk out but I was very hurt & felt ashamed. It was appalling to me that they would show a movie that had nothing to do with Jesus or our God...& on the platform of the church that's in God's house! I learned more about Superheroes & Villians than anything else. I want to learn about scripture, understanding the word, & growing spiritually in my relationship with God & I don't feel I received that from this church. Maybe today was different from the Pastor's normal teachings, maybe he was trying something new, I'm not sure exactly but I wish this church the best of God's blessings.

We have people here that are at all spots in their faith journeys - who feel welcome to explore Jesus wherever they are at.
