The main dishes are good. The sides not so much. Went there twice over the winter. Both times hush puppies were over cooked and tasted as such. Other sides are ok but many are over cooked. read more

We love coming here as the seafood is fresh and always breaded to perfection. Easy to order to go or eat outside on the covered picnic tables. Staff is friendly and provides great suggestions. We started out with the breaded gator bites. The dipping sauce was delicious and really made the bites so much better. Could never really tell it's gator with the breading but still yummy overall. I absolutely loved my coconut shrimp. Great sizes of shrimp and nice and fresh. Also the dipping sauce made it even better. The potato salad was a little too chunky but still good flavor and the coleslaw was yummy, just a little too wet. All depends on how you like it, but I still think both are worth it. My fiancé had the fish (catfish) and chips. Again very fresh and super crispy for the fried part. The chips were crunchy without too much salt. We have eaten here many times. The fried catfish is amazing....some of the best in town! We have also had fried shrimp and fried grouper....both are delicious! We have also had the fried okra, fried green tomatoes, grits, fries, hush puppies, and banana pudding. All was very good......the banana pudding and hush puppies are good but not great. I've eaten here a few times and I have to say, the quality and the portions are consistently exceptional! I've had the shrimp scampi, the catfish, and the snapper and each has been awesome. The snapper had a really crispy breading, cooked perfectly with a drizzle of sauce; the catfish was super tender and not game-y/muddy as it tends to be; and the shrimp scampi was well-cooked with a good sauce. The fish here is great and the sides are as well. It's not easy to make a great coleslaw or creamy cheese grits, but they do it right here! Coleslaw has the right balance of sweet, savory crunch, and the cheese grits definitely stick to the ribs but offer a great flavor going down. As for the location, they do have a seating area with a few picnic tables under a pavilion of sorts, and it's situated right next to the actual brick and mortar fish shop. Have you ever had a sauce that made you want to order the entire menu just to see what it tastes like if you were to submerge it into a flavor explosion? This location has created those types of thoughts in my mind. Reasonably priced and notable the freshest seafood this town has to offer, I recommend this establishment time and time again. Located a few miles right off the main road, it is worth the drive. I have never had something on this menu that I didn't love and wish I ordered seconds. It's very indulgent, decadent and honestly good. Good food and good local people that are putting plates together to wow us! This quality is unmatched in town. Best fried oysters I've ever had in my life! This is not a sit inside restaurant, all the seating is outside under huge oak trees. The staff is also VERY friendly and fast. This place is also a fresh fish house and I have bought fresh fish many many times! I have eaten here several times and will eat here again!!!!! Had dinner here- Caesar salad not good, old not crisp lettuce dressing and amount of it lacking and salad very ordinary. Flounder with crabmeat and lobster also fair. Flounder was dry not flavorful but stuffing gave it some taste. Service and reception very attentive. Other fish restaurants much better at a lower price. Really do not think this restaurant will last as is. I gave it three stars because of the service and atmosphere not the food. read more
