I noticed on the website they try to specifically hire them, which explains why there are so many of them at this location. The lineup here is a bit of a war zone, as everyone passing by under the sun tries to get in here. The pumps don't have card readers built in, so if you want to use a credit card, they physically hold your card inside the store. You then go inside and pay after doing your thing. Inside you can buy a bunch of knick-knacks. There is also a hot food stand, if you are hungry. I'm not sure about the freshness of the food, but considering the number of customers, I'd imagine that you'd be somewhat safe. No need to recommend this place, since there's a good chance you'll end up here if you're passing through anyways.

I am now finding that the Esso in Barriere is a better option. I now skip Clearwater and just wait until here and fill up on gas at the same time since it's close to Kamloops anyway. In doing so I avoid an additional stop along the way. Also, for some reason, Kamloops doesn't have a convenient gas station right off the highway. A lot of the gas stations on the drive have an A&W. I like how this Esso station has a Subway instead. If I need food, I feel like Subway is a healthier option for me (kind of like the best of the worst and yes, I realize that is a backhand compliment). Overall, a good place to stop, fill up on gas and get some grub on a long drive. As an aside, I've never tried, but they also have showers available for use (not sure how much it costs). Maybe more for truckers but hey, the option is here for you if you need it.

Made a stop here for gas and a coffee on the way back home to Langley and what an interesting…read moreexperience I had. The Esso is connected to and A&W which seemed a bit odd as the pumps were to the left and what looks what used to be more pumps on the right side which is now an outdoor seating area for take out food. The gas pumps are super long with about 6 pumps on each side which is great for a lot of customers going through but once you're in line you're committed as you can't back out so the only way out is forward seeing you have to wait for the person ahead of you to leave. Inside the station was a bee hive of activity from the staff as there were two managers and five staff members crowded behind the counter. On my search for a coffee cup I actually had to ask where they kept them, they were behind the counter which puzzled me as my only thought was people steal coffee cups.
