Gran Maya has high quality, but you 'll pay twice as much and the sales pitch is aggressive. Yaakun Maya had the best price on a real sisal hammock and the guy taught me a lot about it. He wasnt pushy like gran maya. We paid 3800 pesos for a double and he gave us a discount, From 4800. Mundo maya had the nicest textiles for the best price (they're all around the same block).

I bought one on site but my heart was set on a particular print and shirt combo in my size which wasn't available at the time. I was able to order the shirt to my preference and Annie arranged shipping back to the US for me after I left. This is where a great experience gets even better, she shipped my shirt, sent me the tracking number and monitored it all the way to me. The shirt arrived in perfect shape in a very lovingly wrapped package with a personalized thank you and some goodies thrown in. I wish this store was closer so I could shop there more often. I'll be back for more the next time I'm in Mérida.
