Dropped the car off told them the problems and mentioned, when braking, the car pulled a little to the left. Later they called with a diagnostic fee which seemed a little high but wanted it fixed. Someone called back the next day told me they had changed the oil and recharged the air conditioning and found leaks at both Schrader valves which they replaced (part of the diagnostic fee I imagine) and I needed $2000 worth of brake work, (front pads and rotors, rear shoes and drums, front calipers, BG brake system service). My response was, "that is a third of what the car was worth, put it back together and the car will be picked up. A total of $2875.81 of work and parts were declined by me. " Just to be on the safe side, two weeks later the same vehicle was taken to another auto repair shop to have the brakes checked, their receipt says "Inspect brakes, approximately 50% -OK". The brakes are working fine. There is probably a large gap as to what is needed for vehicle repairs and what the manufacturers suggests and how much money you have.

Mastertech charged the same to provide parts and do the whole job as it would have cost me to purchase and install them myself and have it aligned. Since then I have been back to them for tires, other suspension work, and a timing belt I lacked the time to tackle myself. I used to call around to compare pricing, but as they came in significantly less expensive than their competitors every time, I no longer bother. They're also very good about informimg you of any other issues to keep an eye on - not to upsell you or try to convince you to have unnecessary work done, but to be aware of any forseeable future issues. They've earned the title of "my trusted mechanic" and I can not recommend them enough.

Tyera had just moved to Ohio from Tn. She let someone she met borrow her Honda and they bottomed the front of the car out damaging the radiator and ac compressor. She had it towed to Mastertech Auto Repair. They had it fixed in 3 days but she didn't have the $2600.00 to pay for repairs. She paid all she had of $800. The shop then started charging her $25/day. Hearing her story and knowing how shops take advantage of women and struggling people, I offered to help her out not knowing if I would ever see the money again. I called the sherif then the police thinking an escort would incline the shop to do the right thing. Maybe they would accept credit card with their presence. Wrong! At around 3:30 I walked into the shop only to be told, "I was just about to call you. Our parts people brought the wrong part. We'll have it ready first thing in the morning (that would have been Wednesday MORNING). I took the bus to where I could bum a ride from a friend that evening. Wednesday morning came and went. Around 2PM I called and Brian said they were waiting on a pig tail (wiring part). I told him that I'd get going and catch the bus to the shop. "Oh, no. If we don't get the part then we'll have to keep your car another day." Brian said. Me: What am I supposed to do? It'll take me 1-1/2 to 2 hours to get there on the bus. Brian: Well we'll come pick you up." Me: But I live in Canton over by Taggarts. Brian: That's OK. I'll call you when it's done. My phone record says I called Brian back at 3:19. Me: Is my Venza done? Brian: Yeah, you can come pick it up. Me: But you said you'd come get me. Brian: We don't have a driver. Me: Well can you wait for me to get there- it'll take about 2 hours. Brian: We close at 5:00. (Website says 4:30). I hung up knowing I'd have to pay for a Uber- which I did. It cost $18 for the Uber. When I got to the shop Brian says: I apologize for being short with you on the phone. I'd just hung up from a really difficult customer. [And that's MY problem WHY?] I'm giving you an oil change next time you come in. [Like I'd go back to a LIAR that said he'd pick me up??] I asked what the "damages were" and paid $504. I got home and looked at the wiring and didn't see ANY new wiring.
