The price was pretty expensive, though I guess sushi in Munich is difficult to get. The quality of the large sashimi plate was decent, nothing too special. There were definitely alot of options of fish that were super fishy tasting, which even as an avid sashimi lover, I felt a little sick afterwards. I think I maybe just ate too much.

I am so happy that we tried out Mitani. The food is so good that we are constantly talking about the restaurant, especially with friends & my husband only wants to eat here for his birthday haha. They have staff speaks Japanese. Very authentic food here and Japanese people there at my table agreed how good the food was. They have sake and Japanese beer here. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the food. Highly unlikely of me as a Yelper, but I assure you the food presentation was nice too. A friend also got the shrimp dumpling (ha gao) as an appetizer and although they were physically made well they were not as good they are supposed to be. The dinner dishes were nothing short of great (I had black cod), and a really nice touch was that when they didn't have the high-end Japanese whisky that I ordered, they offered up the second-best whisky for free. That's classy. They don't have sushi on the main menu, so if that is what you're craving this may not be the right place for the day, but if you want some other really good Japanese food, this is an excellent alternative in downtown Munich.
