I went in because a cyst had ruptured behind my knee and I was unable to put weight on that leg. Various tests were done. Then, while we waited for reports, I passed out. We were seated in a hallway, and my husband tried to revive me. He couldn't leave me, for fear I would fall out of my chair. Thankfully, a nurse soon came up; she tried to revive me, and when I did not respond, she moved quickly to get me into a room. No heart attack, but an artery had flattened, and my BP was extremely low. Dr. Joshua Paree was there, and my husband was very impressed with him. He moved quickly, knew exactly what he needed to do and did it. I began to come around while they were working to stabilize me. I received the excellent care I have come to associate with TMC, and I am very grateful. So many nurses, but I remember names of only two: Jenny and Miguel. But all of them were so efficient and so kind.

A patient across the hall, on the oncology floor, fell out of his bed while I was there. . The attending MD chastised me for taking 3 days to pick a hospice facility. She basically told me (paraphrasing) ''Pick a place now or we'll remove her by Monday.''. We picked hospice on Saturday. My sister died the next day. Of course this review is somewhat tainted, due to my ongoing grief. However, facts are facts. Another patient fell out of his bed, they left an extremely bright light shine on my sister as she was dying ( I had to request they turn it off) They woke her up 3 a.m. to draw blood. And The bed linens and towels were appalling. As usual. the nurses were angels. Tell the EMT's to drive to TMC.

Yea!) blood pressure, temperature, asked quite a few questions about my history and then drew blood. The PA came in, we talked some more, she looked at my ears, throat and listened intently at my lungs. In the end she said my issue was likely sinus related and that my lungs and everything else looked good. I was given 3 Rcs for the sinus and cough. I'd come back here for any issue. They have even taught me new ways to better care for her and made suggested that will go miles in improving her level of care. The respiratory therapists have been amazing; the doctors have been responsive respectful and brilliant; the culinary team has been so kind and helpful; phlebotomy came in like magicians who seemed to use magic to draw her blood because nearly each time was painless; and the nurses..... let me TELL you about these nurses! Wow! I mean they were beyond attentive to my mom's medical and psychological needs. They went out of their way to help her maintain her dignity, and never once dismissed what she had to say, even when she was a little whack-a-doodle. They adjusted to whatever was best for her! I'm talking to you, Christine, Corrine and Aiden! You and your crew made my mama smile and laugh through the terribles and for that I am forever a fan. The team at TMC Rincon are to be commended for doing their jobs with heart! Oh and this is a brand new facility. The ER was timely and thorough; the place is beautiful; and the room had a couch that converts into an actual BED for me to stay with her! And they have done away with the big beeping monitor system that always drives both patients and families crazy. She had a mini monitor "pack" that sends the feed to a central monitoring location which alerts the staff in the actual hospital if there an issue. This frees the nurses to do real patient care, instead of constantly responding to unimportant beeps and buzzes. I think they have really managed to create a different hospital experience for patients and families alike. I am very pleased, impressed and grateful.

My elderly father was hospitalized for a sudden illness that required the attention of several specialists. Dr. Rumakumar attended my father during his hospital stay even though he was at that time a new, as yet unseen patient (we had scheduled his first appointment but the hospitalization delayed it). When we called to reschedule what was to have been the first consultation, the scheduler pleasantly and patiently worked with us to get a timely appointment and suggested we could be added to the "first cancellation, any location" list. At that first appointment, at the Carondolet office, the receptionist, medical assistant and records clerk treated my father, who has vision, hearing and mobility impairments, with respect and kindliness. When we met Dr. Ruamkumar, his patience, good humor, clarity and calm manner put both the patient and the family at ease and gave us the information we needed to make informed decisions. Most recently, I called the River Road office for help in unraveling a complicated snafu with an urgently needed prescription that had gone awry, a process involved our GP, a nephrologist's office and Az Institute of Urology. The phone calls ran though the afternoon into after-hours contact. Each person in the 'chain of command" at Az I of U listened to me, acknowledged my concern, and asked targeted questions that focussed on solving the problem. This level of professionalism has been the default each time we have had contact with or received services from the practice.

Bottom line, it's incredibly mismanaged, they don't call you back, appointments are cancelled, lacking customer service to a greater, elder community and just unfortunately, terribly mis organized. You'd think they'd care to CORRECT mismanagement and repair their representation, but 'urology' is just so undermanned here in Tucson and this place could really, do much better. The communication between them and the Tucson VA is horrendous and incompetent. Good luck to anyone attempting to obtain life threatening health care here, I had to seek elsewhere for the time being.
