Called and scheduled appointment to have door looked at. Received message from tech at 8:50 he was in his way and would arrive in 23 min. (12 miles away) through their tracking app. Called at 10:10 to find out what's going on. Male I spoke with said he'd call tech and get back with me. Never heard back. Called again at 10:58, spoke with young lady who checked and said he's a hour away. Cancelled service call. Unreliable business in my opinion. read more

Highly upset that this company advertised an office in Google in Corpus Christi, Texas. We set up appointment. I stayed home from work and didn't contact any other company because I was home expecting them. Texted and reconfirmed appointment. Turns out they have no actual personnel manning Corpus Christi and apologized for setting up an appointment. We gave them exact address twice including zip code. This is unacceptable business practice that is costing me money to sit home in line waiting for a local company that I could have actually had earlier in my day. read more

My garage door broke (wire was caught, messing up the track). My HOA mentioned they had serviced our garage doors so the warranty was still in place. I called and they mentioned it was only a parts warranty and would charge me $50 to come out. I agreed thinking it was reputable company if the HOA used them and there was a warranty. The tech comes out quite late and then chatted with me for 2 hours stating I just needed a new garage door and that the cost to fix it would be the same as getting a new door (as in the cost to just fix it and bend the track back would cost the same as an entirely new garage door plus installation, about $1,900). There were also random marketing tactics like trying to get me to pay $1,900 on the spot by check to avoid a credit card fee of a few hundred dollars if I called later to order the new garage door. I paid the $50 fee for the estimate and thankfully decided to contact Aggieland Garage Door instead to get a second opinion. First, there was NO fee for this other company to come out to give an estimate. Second, they said they could get someone out a few hours later to fix it and quoted me $200 labor and $180 for a new tract if they couldn't bend it back. Well, 45 minutes after the techs arrive they had bent the track back and only charged me the $200 in labor since no new parts were needed. The technician from OGD was friendly and polite, but I don't appreciate disingenuous information and quite frankly, scammy behavior. Before you go with OGD, contact another garage company that does free estimates as the $50 and 2 hours spent with OGD when the other company literally fixed the problem in 45 minutes (plus extra stress of thinking I needed to cough up nearly $2,000 for a new door when I didn't need one) was not worth it. read more

I called this company's local BCS office, asking for an estimate for the replacement of the garage door torsion springs. Jonathan refused to give ANY idea about the cost, - either for the labor of for the parts. He told me that for $35, they would come out and do the estimate. This way they "save customers money". I understand that the cost of the springs can be different. But give me some idea for that, and what the labor cost would be. All other companies in the area were able to give me an estimate over the phone (for some, it is a range), except this one. Seeing another Yelp review that quotes an outrageous price (which sounds double of what I was quoted, -but then, I don't know his garage door), - I am glad I decided not to continue with them. read more

I just moved to College Station, and one of the springs on the garage door broke. I called Overhead Garage Door and they came promptly and fixed it. But, it didn't occur to me that the fix would cost over $650. (Homeadvisor estimates $100-$200, thespruce says $200-400, homeguide says $50-290). I should have been there myself to tell them no way when they gave me an estimate (and only been out $35), but alas I was at work and my wife paid the bill. read more
