For the life of me I can not remember their names, Trent and Mike? The first was a broken garage door opener. It was an older model and he quoted me both a price to repair and time to order parts or a price to replace. I chose to replace and rather just select from a few options they let me pick any unit from Lowe's or Home Depot. They bought and installed it with only the installation fee. The second time my dishwasher. Same thing, it needed a new circuit panel which was almost the price of a new washer. So I selected the one I wanted and they installed. I could also have just let them pick one out for me. They have always answered my calls directly or called me back promptly. They have an extra fee for the weekends, so I have had my work done weekdays and they can usually get to it in a day or so. (unless it is Aug as A & M student body is all moving into town!) I recommend them and will be using them again.

I needed help that day so that my trip wouldn't be wasted. Mr. Electric sent someone out within the hour. It turns out a "varmint" had chewed the wires on some exterior floodlights, causing a safety hazard and flipping the breaker. Everything was fixed within a reasonable amount of time, and I was able to get my work done and not waste a trip. The electrician was friendly, professional, and my house is safe again. United Plumbing is great!…read more My magnificent home warranty company, American Home Shield, contracted with United Plumbing to install my new dishwasher after my 15 year old Whirlpool had a pump failure. Cody Thomas, the technician dispatched, is the epitome of professional. Give him a raise, United Plumbing! He is the kind of employee you want to keep around! On install day Cody called and notified me of his departure and anticipated arrival time. I recv'd a text from United Plumbing shortly after Cody's call which provided me with a link where I could follow Cody enroute to my residence, with an up to the minute arrival clock (kind of like Uber). He got here right on time. Cody introduced himself to my husband & I, I took him to the kitchen and he went straight to work. He had my broken unit disconnected & out in nothing flat. He then gave me the opportunity to clean out the dishwasher space while he took the old appliance out and loaded it onto his truck. Back inside Cody unboxed my beautiful new stainless Whirlpool (which replaced my 15 year old black Whirlpool - WHIRLPOOL RULES!) and began the install. He finished quickly, and then ran a test cycle. Everything was PERFECT! Cody provided me with the Whirlpool packet and handed me the warranty card specifically and reminded me the importance of sending it in. I filled it out & put it in the mail before he was even gone. Cody also had a sample pouch of Cascade Platinum detergent pods & rinse aid, which he gave me and informed me there was no break in period, that I could begin using my new dishwasher immediately. Woo hoo! Cody also removed all the bulky packaging from my new dishwasher, which I sincerely appreciated. We live in a city with a permanent burn ban and the materials were far too large for my dumpster, even broken down. I am sitting here in near silence as this magnificent new Whirlpool unit works its magic. I have advanced arthritis in both hands, so hand-washing dishes is NOT a thing I do! THANK YOU, CODY! We are starting the process of installing a whole house water filter. Our plumber came out to talk…read moreit over and said the first task is to find the water line from the meter to the house. It turns out those things can be hard to find. We knew where the meter was, but with a concrete slab foundation we didn't have any indicators for where it entered the house. The plumber and I each dug a couple of holes in the yard, then we gave up and he recommended I call American Leak Detection. A few days later they sent out a plumber with some specialized tools and he spent a couple of hours before locating the spot by running a camera up the pipe from the meter. Well, hopefully he located it, because he put down flags but didn't actually dig it up. Apparently it's 2.5 feet underground and we have pretty tough ground here, so we left it for my primary plumber to dig up. I know that you can dig at your meter to find the direction the water pipe is pointed and it will generally go in a straight line to the house...but I wouldn't have dug over two feet down to find the pipe. So while American Leak Detection cost a bit more than I would have preferred, it was within the price range they told me upfront, they got the job done, and they were professional about it. If I needed to find an external leak I wouldn't hesitate to call them.
