I booked the boat through Boat Bound but next time I would contact Offshore 312 directly to save 10%. The boat was spacious and large enough for 10 guests plus captain and crew member. 312 suggested a list of captains. We went with Captain Dan and he was awesome and super helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. I would rent from 312 again and recommend them to others. read more

I would not recommend this boat to anyone looking for a premium boat experience. The boat was ancient and not kept up well, it smelled, was dirty (think hair everywhere), and the stereo system did not work. The price of this boat does not include the captain, so you're not getting a good deal. I would pay a little more for a better experience. If you do decide to use this company, do not use Captian Larry, he seemed very knowledgeable and friendly over the phone, but he did not know anything about the architecture in the city and things he said could provide proved to be all talk. Very disappointed with the entire experience. On top of this, the weather was nasty on the particular day of the charter, and they did not cancel. I know the weather is not their fault, but the safety of the passengers should always be the first priority, and I believe money is theirs. read more

Offshore hosted myself and a mess of friends. The timing couldn't have been better. In my opinion it was the first perfect day of 2016. What impressed me the most was how well planned everything was. All of the details were covered. Bluetooth music, ice cold bottled water, paddle boards, a kayak, they even had ingredients to jazz up the guacamole that I brought with me. The boat was big enough that you can really spread out. I started up on the captains deck for some shade and eventually wandered down to the bow (the front) for a little sun. What to do with out-of-town guests that are looking for more than the usual sites? Get out on the lake! After researching and calling around, I went with Offshore Boat Charters as they were by far the most accommodating and booking was a breeze. We took full advantage of their BYOB policy and in hindsight, I wish we would have brought food for the grill they have on board (they also have a sound system which you can hook into). My friends were extremely impressed with the views the boat offered (as was I, even as a long time resident). We ended up cruising along the river too (which has equally exciting views of the city) since the lake was chilly this early in the year. Offshore's staff was both friendly and knowledgeable and the boat was spacious and well kept (bathrooms were spotless, which is always crucial). The price was beyond a deal for the experience--I'm already planning an outing this summer to take advantage of the extras they have (free kayak and paddle board)! Absolutely AMAZING experience. We had a surprise party for my boyfriend on the boat (we were on the Sea Ray Boats 355 TAC), and it was a blast. Captain Dan and the owners are sooooo nice and accommodating. I was nervous about the weather and sent so many emails and they reassured me that everything would be fine and we could find a solution if need be. The boat fit all 12 people comfortably. There were two sound systems so you could have music playing inside the boat and out which was awesome. We got to grill, the fridge/freezer had lots of space for food and alcohol, as well as counter top space to lay out food and drink. People also used the paddleboards and the kayak. My group had an incredible time! We will definitely be back!! read more

We had booked 3 months in advance to be cancelled with no alternative 30 hours prior to our sail time. We were told the "FUN" Pontoon we had rented had motor issues that couldn't be repaired in time. I get it, things happen. Our entire bachelorette party was from out of town, so it would have been really helpful if Offshore had helped us find an alternative and/or paid the difference to make things right; any effort on their end would have been appreciated. While we did finally find a replacement boat, of course it had added costs and we had to cancel lots of other plans to make the different time slot work given the last minute. When you sign a contract with them they protect themselves in every way possible to ensure you won't screw them over, but as the customer you get nothing in return. My friends and I reserved a boat for my bachelorette party in June and unfortunately the day we reserved the boat it was pouring rain and freezing outside. The captain insisted we still take the boat out and we had an absolute miserable experience. Not only did the Captain insult our party by saying were the strangest group he has ever had but he was completely inconsiderate of those who were feeling ill but he didn't even have the decency to offer safe exit off the boat once docked for a pregnant lady. They also gave us the incorrect address which caused a delay in our arrival time. The company refused to even give us half of or any of our money back after experiencing such a miserable time on the boat. OH and I failed to mention the boat didn't look anything like it did in the pictures. There were nasty stains on all the pillows and super dirty! I would not suggest booking the same charter we did and highly consider using this service especially in a place like Chicago with unpredictable weather. read more

My company booked with Offshore for an outing and we are very pleased we chose them! Boat was extremely clean and stocked with everything we needed. The weather was not really on our side, very windy, so the Captain suggested we spend our time cruising the Chicago River where it would still be sunny, just no wind. We are so happy he suggested this and we decided to go that route, we were able to spend the afternoon enjoying the sun and sites of the city. The booking process was painless and the rates were very competitive from the research I did online. BYOB is a plus, they supplied us with cups and even some mixers. Our Captain and Crew were very friendly and knowledgeable of the city/shore. I would recommend Offshore to anyone looking to spend the day on the water! read more
