This is a fantastic driving school, located in the Crossroads Mall down in Portage. It used to be affiliated with Sears, although since Sears has closed, they are their own entity. Here's what we loved about learning with the Official Driving School: * The instructors are TOP notch, funny, friendly, and very patient * There is ample opportunity for parent interaction with the instructors * This is a clean, well-organized driving school. Our teen really loved her instructor, and felt well-qualified after taking the courses. Things we didn't love? The facilities at the mall seem a bit dated (not the fault of the driving school!) I am honestly surprised how hostile and aggressive the instructor is for my child's course. Just blatantly unkind when being asked the most basic questions..... they don't know how to drive, why are you telling them their questions are **stupid** on the 2nd day of class? They've been in class less than 4 hours! I watched how you crushed my son's spirit when he asked a basic question - you didn't know I was watching..... I was. I work from home. I can hear the way you speak to them. I also watched you kick him off the Zoom despite timing how long he was in the bathroom - less than the 5 minutes you said they were allowed to be off camera. I read the email with the rules front to back. I made sure he read the email front to back. No question is stupid when you have zero knowledge of the road. Making children feel badly for asking questions is going to result in something dangerous happening because your piss poor tone and attitude is going to make them keep their questions to themselves and potentially make a grave error on the road. Do NOT use this company! They have terrible customer service, to keep it professional, she was VERY rude. My son was signed up for segment 2, virtually. I watched him log in. He was on for 30 minutes before it froze up on him and booted him out. I IMMEDIATELY called to ask for help getting him back in and instead of helping us, she called us liars and said he would have to sign up for another class that I would be responsible for paying for. They are already more expensive than 3 other places I tried to use, but were unfortunately the only place with opening for the month. ZERO stars read more

This was the only option in my area at the time and is terrible. They don't have enough drivers for the students to be able to do their drives. My daughter is not able to take her first test because they don't have drivers so she can't sign up for the second session. I've called 5 times. Still no drives available. read more

Would give this place 0 stars if I could. Do not send your kids here if you want them to ACTUALLY LEARN and be confident drivers. We have spent the last 10 months teaching our daughter what she should have learned last summer. And Mrs Reemsnyder should be fired! From the very first day, she was extremely rude to kids and parents in the classroom as well as during driving sessions. I called the office and was told she was the only instructor available for that time and we could drop, but there would be no refund so my daughter chose to stick it out. We were finally able to change driving instructors for the last couple of drives (after I made TWO complaints) but by then the damage was done. read more

Absolutely the worst driving school ever. Every unprofessional, driving instructor canceled all drives then they couldn't replace the instructor, child has been waiting forever to finish her drives even though she has finished all classroom classes. Also. My daughter did 1 class from home on her home computer and they said she was not present, I alled to let them know she was in attendance that day, they told me it would be $30.00 and she had to retake that class even though she did it already. They making money off of us and not holding up to their end of things. My daughter has done everything correct and followed all of their rules but she is the one being punished. I would recommend everyone to take your money to another driving school. Dealing with official driving school is a big headache. If anything goes wrong you will never hear from a supervisor on the call center type people and they have little to no information. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would! We were sent hours away for a test that wasn't even there after we called to confirm the location the night before. Only to get home, call and get an "I'm sorry" and have to be rescheduled and then not even get a certificate because they don't have their stuff in order! Once again I call and have to get a call back from a manager who could only say "I'm sorry" and to be sure to ask for a family discount with my next child. This was all on our second time around with this company after a horrible experience with our first child. Giving them a second chance was not worth it! We will definitely not be using them for our next 2 children, a family discount is not worth the headache and frustration! read more

Please save your money and avoid this school! They are the most unprofessional, incompetent company I've ever dealt with. Each time I call to ask questions, someone tells me something different. I was looking for a school that my adult son could attend to get some class time and driving instruction. They said he could join a class virtually, but he just wouldn't take the second segment because of his age. The second night of his class, the instructor said he was too old to be in class and to just go to the Sec of State. He is on the spectrum and this has really thrown him off. Whoever gets my call in the morning is going to be in for it. Either they let him in class or I'm demanding my money back. read more
