It is what it is, a dated cinema well past its best with better but more expensive options nearby, ultimately, so long as you take your own snacks with you (and there are plenty of options a couple of minutes drive or a 5/10 min walk away (Home Bargains, B&M, Tesco or Morrisons off the top of my head) then its a solid place to go after school with the kids if twinned with lunch at McDonalds or Pizza Hut, etc and maybe half an hour in the arcade at the bowling alley nextdoor, or in my case if you just want to pass a few hours in the afternoon when not working and you dont want to spend a fortune doing it. Apart from peak times, its £5 a film across the board, which is unbeatable value really. If you want to dress up and make an evening out or go on a date, the Cineworld in Hanley or Vue in Newcastle are better options but will cost you more. It has its place. read more

The Odeon was the main cinema for me when I lived in Stoke, and I was never happy with it. The staff were always so disinterested and unhelpful, and I can understand why, in a way - as to care about the job there would've been a mountain of stress. The cinema is situated pretty much next to a bowling alley complex, and both of them have arcade games and whatnot. Naturally, this attracts a bunch of idiot teenagers. And when they're maxed out on games, their favourite activity seems to be going into the cinema screens in huge groups and disrupting films for paying customers. I had several film experiences ruined at the Odeon because of this. I'm sure I was not the only one, and the strain of it likely just caused the staff to stop caring. But either way, it's not a pleasant viewing experience for a customer. Buying food and drink there is also ill-advised as it's the usual cinema rip-off. Festival Park does have several restaurants though, so I recommend going to one of those before or after your film. And good luck getting through the film without the worst of Stoke's teens making a nuisane of themselves. read more

Odeon - Cinema Near Me - Stoke-on-Trent, STE

This cinema isn't I feel as high quality as the Vue cinema in Newcastle. This is why I prefer the extra trek to Newcastle for a more value for money experience. The cinema is situated near various places such as Mcdonalds, waterworld, bowling etc so if you feel the need to do something else theres plenty of similar quality places to go to. The staff here suit the clientelle (similarly to waterworld!) they are less friendly and efficient. The layout to buying tickets is a bit more confusing and the ability to check tickets seems to be lacking as I have noticed on numerous occassions (therefore many people get away with not paying) Typically the food/drink is extortionate for what it is - probably the same as your ticket price no doubt. Each screen has smaller seating capacity to that of Vue and the seats are not staggered as well therefore if anyone tall sits in front of you you spend 2 hours watching the back of their head. The screens aren't as clean and well kept nor very well air conditioned if it all so during the summer it can become quite stuffy. Not the ideal place to see a film but bog standard enough to visit if nowhere else is showing what you wish to see. Avoid if you can if not take your own snacks! read more

The Odeon cinema on the Festival Park is one of the largest cinemas in Stoke-on-Trent but as other reviewers have said, it is now being badly shown up by it's main competition - the Vue ciname in Necastle. When it first opened the Odeon was great but they simply haven't updated it to keep up with current standards. The seating is old and very cramped and the sound isn't great. Refreshments are also unbelievably expensive, although the same could be said for most of the other cinemas accross the country. The only good point about the Odeon is that there is plenty of free parking directly outside. read more

All cinemas are expensive, but some just seem to take the biscuit due to the total lack of experience and sense of occasion while you are there, and this cinema is one of those. The floor is almost always littered sweet wrappers and popcorn, and not just the floor in the cinema screen, but right from the front door. The staff arent exactly the quickest, and the ticket checkers seem completely unwilling to help, which last time resulted in me being forced to walk up a flight of stairs because the staff wouldn move from the disability ramp. If we hadnt already spent a ridiculous amount on the cinema tickets we would've just left. Would not recommend this cinema to anyone who values the experience. read more

Cheap and cheerful and damn this is a near institution, it's been here for like a zillion years. Tickets are super cheap at £5 every day, no matter whether you're an adult, student, or a senior. It's very reasonably priced and yeah it's no frills, but the screens are a reasonable size and the seating isn't bad! I think this place gets a bad rep for no reason, and I highly recommend it for a family trip out or with friends. read more

Although the Odeon shows a good variety of films, the staff rarely seem interested or motivated to help, which makes the whole experience a bit depressing. The cafe/bar in the foyer where I waited for my kids' film to finish was better, with a pleasant and chatty barmaid, but it closed at 11 pm so I was turned out to wait in the foyer for the last 10 minutes. The Vue cinema in Newcastle is much better at creating a friendly, pleasant ambience, so I would prefer to go there, even though parking is free at the Odeon and you have to pay to go to Vue. Definitely avoid buying sweets there - the prices are incredible, even for a cinema. If necessary, go to Morrisons at the other end of Festival Park first. read more

This cinema is dirty , old looking , smelly and needs knocking down . The seats are horrible and extremaly uncomfortable the prices of tickets are shocking considering you have to sit in horrible seat. The prices of food are out of this world and the policy for taking you own food in is ridiculous it made it worse by having a bar there now as you have drunks going in and watching films . The Odeon cinema used to be the largest cinema in the area and really the only cinema to go to for the most up to date films. Since the Vue cinema in Newcastle under Lyme has opened just a few miles away you begin to realise how run down and tatty the Odeon cinema really is. The cinema is generally run down and tatty and this is not reflected in the price of tickets which are still pretty expensive. The price of the food and drink in the Odeon shop is astronomical. The Odeon cinema is really in need of a good overhaul in order that it can compete with the much nicer Vue cinema which provides a much more comfortable and enjoyable cinema experience. read more

this cinema is good but way too expensive , the food is overated and the 3d movies are around 3 pund extra!
