Located in Oden this hatchery y has some amazing sights. They have a small museum in an old train car. They have a ton of gorgeous nature trails. The have and underground viewing area to view young fish in a stream. Plus two ponds with full size fish. Plus they have a fish food machine to buy feed. Toss is the pellets and watch the fish and ducks go berserk. It is both hilarious and amazing. I could easily spend an hour or 2 here. Overall to me a 5 star experience. Would I return? In a heartbeat! read more

This is a state hatchery. The funding is come from the fishing license. We were there and miss the 11 am tour. But the clerk willing to take us around. The compound does have a big fish pond. The pond area is a famous bird watching area. The tour takes about 20 minutes. We went to two buildings where the keep the 6" brown trout. The fish is active when we get close to the tanks. They all thought is the feeding time. The second building is for small fish tank for rainbows trout. There was hundreds thousands of fish in one tank. It very unique when we close to the tank and the fish swim away from us. Very contrast to brown trout. Parking is free and has air conditioning restroom. read more

I had such a great walk exploring this hatchery. What a unique experience to see how they do this.

I figured this would be fun to kill some time, but it was one of my favorite parts of my trip. Our tour guide, Christine, was fun and informative. We got to see hatcheries, I live in a fishing/boating town myself, but I've never seen so many fish in my life. The tour isn't super long (30 minutes) but you can walk the trails and visit the visitor center. It was cold but I still enjoyed feeding the trout at the visitor center. Pictures do not do it justice, it was absolutely beautiful, the fish were huge. If you visit it's also a great opportunity for some cute fall pictures with family/ spouse. I enjoyed seeing the trout in the viewing ponds. It's a nice time walking the trails and the visitor center is pretty well done. My only complaint is the woman at the counter in the visitor center. She had a charming English accent, but she seemed utterly indifferent about her job. When I spoke with her, she gave me the impression she really didn't want to be there. read more

We enjoyed a beautiful trail along a stream from a pond. On the way, there was a observation spot, where we could see several trouts swimming in the stream throughout a glass. The pond was quiet and calm, and the water was very clear. My children were excited to see so many trouts in the pond and feeding them were really fun. A train used to transport fish was interesting, too. read more

Fun and entertaining. We stopped with 3 grandkids (7-4 and 2) and went for the free tour. Really educational and you get to see the fish up close. The walk to the hatchery was beautiful and the guide was very knowledgeable. Probably a little too much for the 2 yr old and 4 yr old, but the 7 yr. old was in awe. Would be ideal for older kids and groups. read more

Our tour guide Trevor was knowledgeable and friendly. For someone who doesn't like fish, this tour was concise and informative and didn't go too long but didn't feel too short either. It was free and a good stop. Not something you'd necessarily think of doing but it was a nice way of spending 40 minutes! read more

We had a couple of great, dedicated guides who were able to answer every question we had. A guided tour of the hatchery is a must. Take the five minute walk through the woods to the "big fish" lake and make sure you have a few quarters to buy fish food. My kids had fun and so did I. read more
