Mineski Infinity - Where gamers go to game

There are plenty of computer cafes out there that lets me play games with a high speed internet connection and a good rig. Most of them come off as generic and don't really give off a unique vibe to them, not Minesky Infinity though. The thing that makes Mineski Infinity unique is that it wasn't started by people who looked at it solely from a business oriented perspective. The people who started Minesky Infinity are a group of students who were themselves hardcore gamers. Their internet cafes are basically made by hardcore gamers, for hardcore gamers, of hardcore gamers. Everything is great. Sure you won't be using products from the likes of Razer, but their keyboard and mice are of great quality. They have headphones that do a good job of bringing a level of sound and comfort I wish I'd get more often from other internet cafes. they clean their equipment regularly and replace the ones that are broken. Given just how well some kids treat internet cafe equipment I'd say that's a massive plus for Mineski Infinity. To date, I haven't found a internet cafe franchise that handles its business as well as these guys do. Sure there are probably cafes that are as good, if not better, but none of them have the presence that Mineski has. It is the gold standard of internet cafes so far as I'm concerned.

What separates BreakrOne from the others, though is a really nice and hidden location. It's located behind an alley along P. Guevarra St., behind a building and on its third floor. Find it and be greeted by a cozy and dark room filled with quick computers, stocked with games ranging from the most modern first person shooters to old retro real time strategy games. BreakrOne also has a large outside balcony area for food, drinks and smoking, preventing the computer area from smelling like a kitchen ashtray. There's even a billiard table outside if it tickles your fancy. All in all a great place to play games and unwind (by shooting terrorists in the face).

When I caught up with a few of my friends for lunch, I asked them what was there to do around the area for killing time. They looked at each other, gave an approving nod, and then yelled in unison, "Breaker One!" I was so confused, and they explained to me that Breaker One is one of the internet / LAN / computer gaming cafés that were still running in the Greenhills area. Back in high school, there used to be a plethora of these gaming shops, especially within walking distance near schools, but now they are lost to different businesses. Breaker One can now be considered your five-star computer gaming shop, since their hardware and software systems are up-to-date. They have almost every game and every modification you can imagine. Why still go to this place when online gaming is trending? There's nothing like coordination and trash talking when you're playing right next to your friends.

My laptop is just too heavy to bring to school especially when commuting. What I like about this computer shop is it's fast internet connection and well maintained computer units, despite having a Windows Vista operating system up to this date. Although, I think they should upgrade their OS already, their computers haven't failed any of my usages yet, so I guess there's really no problem with that. I even go to Isko until now whenever I had to upload some huge file on the net. My "12 hours remaining time" of uploading at home is just minutes of waiting time with this computer shop. It definitely makes my computer life efficient up to now! Most people who go here use computers for academic and professional purposes, (I'm not sure if they allow gamers here but I haven't seen one in any of my visits) that's why it has a somewhat library feel, perfect for writing and researching. The staff in Isko is also commendable for being professional with work. You can count on them to trouble shoot any technical difficulties that you may have with the computer that you're using, plus, they're also very alert when it comes file printing and logging in and out of costumers. Rates are only P10/hour of internet, and around P2.00 - P5.00 for their black and white and colored printing. Really cheap compared to most internet shops in the metro. Everything in UP Shopping Center is cheap, anyway, so go there if you're looking for budget computer, photocopy and printing services.

This place has always been more consistent in giving you a peaceful, less heartbreaking experience with your banging out your paper to beat a deadline. It's probably how they've managed to survive staying in the prime spot of the UP SC. The place looks clean and straightforward and business-only even if the person beside you'd just be watching cat videos on Youtube, butyou will easily tune out his laughter while you struggle to contain your tears here. It's comfortable enough and you have a lot of breathing space to calm yourself down with while you juggle browsing your readings with one hand and trying to make your paragraphs look coherent with the other. You appreciate that they don't try to squeeze you in with photocopiers or bookbinding services, so you know you're just getting what you need: a cheap, proper internet connection, MS Office, and a reliable printer. Isko, Kompyuteran ng Iskolar ng Bayan is really just focused on your getting the work done, and you'd realize all along that their name is a tribute... to you.

Yesterday, my friend asked me to accompany her to some places where she would be passing her resume. Because I was bored and wanted an adventure, I went with her. When I met up with her in the train station, she informed me that she still had to print her CVs out in Netopia. This Netopia opens at 10am. There's already going to be a line outside it with people all rushing to have their documents printed, scanned, and edited. Knowing that all these people are in a rush, the staff of Netopia work fast but well. The place is a bit small, but if you won't be using their computers, you'll be fine. I had to be in one all the time for different reasons-school work, e-mails and Friendster (Yes, I'm a dinosaur) Back then, the only computer we had was an old desktop and our internet connection was almost non-existent. I had to be in Netopia almost every day and it wasn't difficult at all. Their rates are good; the connection is fast and their hardware reliable. This place gives me a sense of nostalgia just because in those days, I had it hard. And as I write this review in the comforts of my room, using my laptop and high-speed connection, I'd like to end this by saying thank you to Netopia, You're shop has made it possible for me to survive my college years without internet or a laptop.
