We then stumbled upon this outstanding little tourist shop located at the corner of the plaza, right across the street from the old church. The two young owners, Andy and Ydalis, explained that they opened the shop in January 2017. They were very kind, helpful and not at all pushy.. The shop has a nice assortment of souvenirs for all tastes. The selection includes a nice variety of local handicrafts at amazing prices. Although the store is tiny, it is nicely stocked with local candies, salsas, tee shirts, purses and all sorts of knick-knacks. Their prices are simply amazing...cannot be beat anywhere. Stop by and you'll be rewarded with nice gifts and a very pleasant experience with this delightful couple trying to make a go with their new business. Definitely worth a stop if you visit Mayaguez.

The manager was nice, but the rest of the staff was inattentive and discurteous. My girlfriend waited at the Merle Norman counter for 10 minutes without being helped, and when my mom asked if they have a restroom, one of the employees "up and downed" her before being told no. I was treated similarly when I asked. I was able to get a very nice Christmas present last minuite, but I do not anticipate shopping here in the future.
