When we booked the room there was an option for breakfast for 12 € a person a day. We decided to pay this for the two nights we were staying for a total of 48€.
The first morning we went down to the restaurant and they offered a croissant and bread for 12€! We were very unhappy so we went to the front desk. The woman at the desk told us that wasn't right, that they should have a hot breakfast. She went to the restaurant and all they did was offer us a charcuterie and cheese plate, which is not breakfast and seemed like a very lackluster attempt to fix the problem they had, which was that they charged 12€ with no plans of serving a hot breakfast we paid for. That morning the woman told us she would talk to the director. We did not take the offered charcuterie, cheese plate, or breakfast and we had the same breakfast for half the price outside the hotel.
We fully expected a refund since they did not deliver on what we paid for.
Upon checkout we asked again about this and we were told they could not refund the money. They argued that they could not refund the money since they didn't have it from your app, then they insisted we refused the breakfast they provided, which we did since it wad overpriced, not even what the front desk expected in the first place.
It seems to me that no one was communicating within this hotel. The front desk didn't know that the restaurant didn't serve hot breakfast, the restaurant didn't seem to know that they were charging an absurd amount for this breakfast, then they didn't even communicate well once we brought up the problem and because of their error we are forced to foot the bill.
I work in many high end hotels in the United States and in any hotel I worked in this would absolutely not be how the guest would be treated. I feel absolutely cheated and mistreated from the hotel director and their unethical tactics. read more
