My experience donating plasma at the Octapharma Plamsa located at, 8807 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46219, was as follows. I got there around lunchtime and saw few cars in the parking lot, so I was thinking, "good, might be a quick day at the old plasma center." Unfortunately, as is generally the case, not so fast.
So, I was standing in line for the screening for quite some time, and mind you, there are a total of three people in line in front of me, and I saw that I had been waiting for a total of around 30 minutes. Since I had already trudged through the wait, while noticing that most of the staff were engaged heavily in conversation and that there were two employees roaming around with what appeared to be no purpose entirely and who could have been helping, I thought OK, fine, maybe things will go faster in the back.
One could only hope so, because sure enough there were three people working back there and there was a total of seven donors, yes, that's right, SEVEN donors. So finally, I got the process going after another 30-minute wait. Unreal. From my past experiences I now knew that I'd be there for 2 hours, minimum. Again, there were 7 donors (including myself). On completion, I didn't like the way that the worker, Jordan, had begun to bandage my arm so I changed it a little bit, like it had always been done hundreds of times before. After I saw that he had no intentions of wrapping my arm as I requested, I asked him to stop completely and get the manager, which he steadfastly refused to do. Fascinating, but then it gets worse.
Upon exiting, I did see the manager and his name was Robert. In short, I vocalized my couple of complaints, they do have signage on the doors that they would like to know how they are doing. Great. Until, that is, the manager, Robert, looked at me and said, "then why do you come here?" Really, wow. Personally speaking, if I ever said that to a customer I would be fired on the spot. One translation of said statement might be, "if you don't like how we do things, incompetently or not, then get out." Classy.
In short, I was able to successfully determine that the district manager's name is Donald K., although they starkly refused to give me his phone number so that I may speak with him in directly. Nothing is going to change around there with the help of local management on site, obviously, so I will find this Donald K's phone number and give him a call; hopefully, he will be able to get some changes made around there, which seems to be so poorly run for reasons that make absolutely no sense when it comes down to it. read more
