This shoe store is simply one of, if not the finest if you are looking for something special. They carry what are now my favorite brands, Shoto and sylvana sassetti, made by hand, the old fashion way. They are expensive, but my feet have had issues and I need wide toe box, good support, and I'm generally a hard fit. These have a size which fits my foot perfectly every time. But what also makes the place special is Marco the owner, who is an excellent salesman, and knows his product inside and out. And the cup of expresso they offer upon entering does not hurt. They have two locations, when they explain it, will seem like 20 miles apart, but probably only a couple miles, ten minutes on a tram, one in district 1 and the other in district 4, or maybe it's 5. Both locations convenient to anything else you'd want to do in Zurich. This is a special place with fantastic products.

This reminds me of the shoe stores of my youth --- everything starts with measuring your feet (not a full Brannock Device, but headed that direction), then a first two options, then more recommendations and samples, then selection, then a quick cleaning & leather treatment, then finally to the register. I'm not sure how well they'd deal with a "This model, this size, out the door" request. Our salesperson was very helpful, though she was much happier in German than English. The stairs to the second-floor stockroom serve double duty as a faux mountain trail ("Hang on the edge here, feel the traction") --- and are showing it. Hopefully Gräb builds an REI-style hillock on the sales floor before the wooden steps wear away.

We are visiting from NYC and even while we spoke perfect English, he talked to us like we were stupid when we asked for a VAT tax refund form (FYI they don't do VAT refunds at this shady store). The associates at the stores are very nice but the owner/manager (old guy who tried too hard to look young), his attitude is trash. Very annoyed by this experience and discrimination. Look at the reviews of this store on Google, reviews are disastrous in both German and English. Some customers even called the police on him. Would avoid 100%.

The stuff is a bit clueless and slow. They are not very clientfriendly (don't care to much). Always good to have a look when you are looking for something.

This store really has the allure of an New York sneakerstore. You find a lot, and special stuff as well. The store has two floors. But you really have to go inside. It looks actually small from the outside. But once inside it looks big and it is big. The staff is friendly and doesn't bother you too much. One negative thing: they didn't have a lot in my size (US: 12). But maybe its because its popular ;)

It's a huge department store in the city center of Zurich with floors of everything from fashion to food. I only visited the food department which is located on the lower level so I can only describe my experience there. There are rows of foods from around the world and a large section of wines from around the world. They also have a decent Swiss wine section. The cheese humidor here is worth just popping into. It had the most amazing variety of cheeses from around the world. The fresh produce is also of the highest quality. There are a handful of restaurants in here serving cuisines from different parts of the world. We visited one called Nippon Sushi and the chef there made us an Omakase menu comprised of the chefs selection of sushi on the day. It was amazingly good and super fresh. You can lock me up in this place and throw the key away :-) an exquisite place to visit, browse and have a meal :-)

It's self-service, so you can pour yourself whatever you want to taste from all the bottles on display. At the register, I suddenly remembered that I had some UBS Keyclub points to redeem, so I was able to knock off CHF 20 from the purchase price. Awesome. Then I went upstairs to the always busy m.a.c. cosmetics counter, but a sales associate was quick to help me with my purchase, and then I was merrily on my way. Always an awesome experience at this upscale department store, but be prepared to shell out some big bucks.
