Office staff was completely uncaring and cold. arrived 30 minutes early to complete new patient paperwork. after being placed in a room we waited 1 1/2 hours before we saw Dr. Caruso only after going out and asking how much longer we had to wait. We had been referred to him for advanced ED care. He advised I should seek another Doctor in Miami. So disappointed with this entire experience. 1 would NOT recommend this Doctor or practice. read more

Of course there is a wait in the office area -- Experienced urologists like Dr. B and Dr. C cannot possibly predict what happens in the examination room. Dr. B is a sensational physician -- he gives the very best advice, is patient-friendly, and has a sense of humor -- I like that in a physician. And when a patient has questions and concerns, those are addressed fully and completely without Doc B. rushing the patient which, of course, causes the next patient to wait. One should be so lucky to have a physician who cares enough to spend time with a patient in addressing all his/her medical concerns. Mary, Doc B's assistant, is an exceptional assistant. She has a sense of humor, lightens the atmosphere with her wit and friendliness, and just makes one comfortable before their exam. read more

This is in response to the response from the office: I understand that you are attempting to defend your practice, but my negative review is not an isolated incident. The primary concern was not solely related to insurance; rather, it centered around the lack of post-surgery communication from the doctor or staff. In fact to be clear there was no phone call or communication from the doctor or the office after surgery. We had to call the office. Upon calling, we encountered a discouraging message instructing not to call more than once, with the promise of a return call within 48 hours. Unfortunately, no one followed up. Subsequently, when we did call again and sought a follow-up appointment, we were informed that a payment of $1000 would be required as an additional fee necessary for the removal of a stent, which constitutes "surprise billing". According to the law, in the case of emergency surgery, it is irrelevant whether a patient is in or out of network. It's probable that your office is aware of this, as they included a form in the paperwork that patients are required to sign, relinquishing their legal rights before they are informed that they cannot be charged more than their insurance copay for emergency services. It seems that your office's sole concern was the $1000 and not the welfare of my girlfriend. When we did call back after no one called us, it was because my girlfriend was suffering from a fever and severe pain, and we needed an appointment sooner than two weeks away. Instead of listening to our concerns, your staff became loud, aggressive, and verbally abusive, yelling at a sick patient who was trying to recover from surgery. This is hardly the best bedside manner. While I never explicitly stated that I am a lawyer, I did mention that I am familiar with the law, and we may need legal assistance, as we were simply seeking help but were instead reprimanded. Your office did mention that we could see another doctor within our network to remove the stent. However, as you are aware, it's unlikely that another doctor would agree to remove a stent that was inserted by a different doctor. Finally, the last straw occurred when a urine culture was conducted during the appointment. Typically, basic culture results are available within minutes, but your office took two weeks to inform us that the results indicated a positive infection. Consequently, my girlfriend fell ill with a fever and nausea throughout Christmas. While our local Med Md provided excellent follow-up care, your office did not. read more

Absolutely horrible communication both from Dr Caruso and his staff. Made the unfortunate mistake to have what was supposed to be a "simple" surgery with Dr Caruso and experienced an extremely undesirable outcome. Should have know better...after initial surgery date was scheduled, I had an urgent family emergency which conflicted with the original date and needed to reschedule. Called office manager/ surgery coordinator more than half a dozen times over a few week period before I was able to reschedule...should have bailed then. End result is....I'm worse off and have more pain and discomfort than I did before I had surgery and am facing another surgery to correct the problems caused by the surgery Dr Caruso performed. I understand that sometimes undesirable outcomes and complications occur but his initial reaction was defensive and to send me for more ultrasound tests which probably were not particularly useful or properly performed and not sure they were even looked at. In the end, he suggested another surgery and said that it would most likely resolve my issue...at that point, I had already lost confidence in him and his office that it was an no brainer to pass on that option.Dishonest and inaccurate operative report was provided.I am convinced and confident the problem that I experienced is a technical surgical issue related the procedure...devil is in the details! True about the hour wait....usually was more. Ultimately the docs are responsible how their offices are run. I hope this helps someone avoid making the mistake I did. read more

Waited 2 months for appointment, after waiting an hour and still not seeing the doctor and many patients walking out because of they waited over 2 hours. I was told the next appointment if left was in August. I had told her I had a 10am work appointment. The front desk was rude and care nothing about the patients nor does the doctor. I told her common courtesy would be to let the patient know either by phone or upon arrival for the appointment that the doctor is behind schedule instead of letting patients wait. She told me to take it up with the doctor. I told her I am finding a new doctor. What has happened with our medical system. I have to give it to the front desk, they were quick, prompt and professional when it came to getting my co-pay. read more

I love Dr Basharat and his medical staff. they are awesome!!. what I didn't like.... first there are 6 sheets of papers on the front door to let me know that I have to wear a mask. patients are not idiots and only need 1 paper. besides I go to many Dr offices and you are the only one that I visit that requires masks. there is no wifi service in the office. here is where you are unique. this is not a free medical center, we pay to see the DR. put a wifi service as a courtesy for your patients. it is unheard of. what if you are a parent and your child is in school and your child has an emergency. the school will not be able to call or text you. there is no reception whatsoever. what is evident here is either the owner of your business or the managing person has no regard for the patients. they are more focused on their pockets then the wellbeing and comfort of your customers. your office is in Jupiter FL. a highly regarded city/ neighborhood. I would expect this kind of treatment in a 3rd world country, not in Jupiter FL. I will continue to be a patient because of your Dr Basharat and his medical staff. but for god's sake get with the program in the front office. thank you read more

If you have self respect and self worth AVOID this clinic. Last time I waited for over an hour and I was asked this time to arrive for a procedure at 10:30 am. This time I was undressed for 90 minutes on a table waiting for the physician to start. As an RN and clinic manager this is NO WAY to run a clinic or treat paying patients! I am disgusted that these physicians feel that in any way this is an acceptable way to treat people. I got dressed and left. As I'm sitting in the car ready to leave Dr Caruso comes out and said he was sorry but there's a high acuity in the area!! WHAT? Like that's an excuse. This is what you do Dr Caruso, you hire more staff or you don't take on new patients. Stop chasing $$$ and start doing your job! I've been a patient of Dr. Caruso since 2015. I've always been on time for my appointments but always have had to wait one hour minimum to one and one half hours to be brought to a exam room and then wait one half hour for a real quick visit from the doctor. They are very disorganized! Two years ago they scheduled me for a biopsy at the hospital. I was on time , he was 3 1/2 hours late with no explanation. He said to me " you didn't have anything else better to do" as I was laying there with an IV needle in my hand for 3 1/2 hours. Now the office staff is the worst and useless when you need something. They never ever return you voice messages, never! I just had a person from the office call me to give me the results of my PSA test, not the doctor. She said I should get treatment my possible cancer because my PSA was high. I kind of would have like to talk to the doctor about that! I don't recommend this practice. read more

When I asked why and what the issue(s) could be, she refused to tell me - Stating that we wouldn't "worry about things until necessary". I was referred here by the hospital after discovering I had a kidney stone. I got a call from them on Friday afternoon confirming my appointment made for me by the hospital on Monday morning at 8:30am. The person on the phone promised to send me details like, and most importantly the name of the office and it's address. This never happened. I tried to call the number back at 8:00am Monday morning and got no answer. The automated phone service said something about a text transcribing service, tried to transfer me to it, and hung up on me. I had to call the hospital to find out where the office was, and as a result I was 7 minutes late for my appointment. One of the front desk people were very rude about this, and told me the doctor really cares about punctuality. They made me wait to see if the doctor would even see me or not, and after a few minutes told me they would, but I would have to wait because all the rooms were taken. You mean to tell me in the 7 minutes I was late, they made the determination that I wasn't coming, gave my appointment to someone else, and didn't think to call me? And how is it that at 8:30am on a Monday there is someone in the waiting room able to be bumped up to use my time slot? Did they overbook like a United flight? I understand calling the next person if It's clear I'm not coming, but I don't understand how they could possibly have someone on standby that early in the morning ready to jump in and get seen within what was obviously less than 7 minutes. That seems very unlikely. I would wager that the doctor felt like making me wait out of some petty ego trip and that there wasn't a patient that slid into my time slot. I'll find a doctor that cares more about their patients and less about their ego. read more

I have been a satisfied patient of the practice for several years, without issue. However, I recently moved to another state and need my medical records to become established with a local urologist. I, my wife and two local practices (the first one just gave up) have been trying for over a month via phone, fax, mail and even certified mail to no avail. I have no idea what their motive is in denying me my records. I was able to get my records from my dermatologist in 36 hours and he retired over a year ago! read more

I start with Dr Daniel caruso a couple of years ago because i was not making progress with my previous urologists'. I have found that Dr Caruso himselt is excellent and his staff is very friendly and always helpful. I require a cath change every 3 weeks and his nurse tia is the best. I have very little problems with my cath change like i used too with other doctor, nurses and P,A. . I used to have frequent bladder infections and always pain with a cath change, at dr cusruso office no pain no infection, it's like being treated by a friend. Tia has been my nurse for while now and she gets me in and out in a reasonable time. for my cath ater cjhanges and i prefer her over most doctors and p.a. that i have been to in the past. one problem with his office they are frequently behind schedule but if you want the best he it is well worth the wait they have treated me like family. I will be going there for a long time to come. Dr Caruso works well with my other doctors so I have a good team taking care of me. that's enough said the doctor and staff are excellent and i don't mind going there every 3 weeks, they have gone out or thier way to make me comfortable and feel like I am important to them. I really don't mind having a catheter change now. it's not a problem anymore. read more

My father is 92 and currently in Medicare hence we were recommended by his primary care physician to see Dr. Caruso. He has been seeing Dr. Caruso for a couple of years but in the last months even after COVID-19 the office staff is awful and the office manager a completely incompetent. My father's current appointments keep being canceled and when they call him, they call other numbers and do not have his correct address. Even though we have advised them numerous times. We are still trying to determine why my father experienced blood in his urine a month with no concern from Dr. Caruso or his PA. An MRI scan was done and thank goodness I can read, and it shows no detriment to other organs, but we are still not sure about his bladder or prostate. When you call his Physician Assistant it states not to leave more than one message, that she is completely swamped and she will return your call in 24 hours. She never does. At this point, it is obvious that Dr. Caruso office is a complete disaster and my only thought of why this is occurring is his is trying to see more patients that he can handle in terms of revenue stream. To everyone, please complain to your PPO, HMO and Medicare to drop him as a provider. I will be seeking another competent and caring urologist that accepts Medicare for my father. We can not continue in a stream of 3 or more canceled appointments every time we visit his office. This is completely unacceptable. Obviously, the Hippocratic office by Dr. Caruso and his office manager along with his staff is not be taking to hear - "Do not harm to the patient" - I recommend Dr. Caruso closes his office and seek another profession that is not in the healthcare. read more

I have been with Dr. Caruso since May, 2018. I have always had to sit in the waiting room for an hour or so. During an appointment in 2020, I was actually forgotten in a medical review room. After an hour in the room, I stepped out and startled my nurse in the hallway! But today was worse. After the usual long wait in the lobby of an hour, I was ushered to a medical review room. There I eventually met a nurse practitioner who unceremoniously yelled at me and insulted me. I will not ever return to this medical clinic. Not only did they not attain my very important bloodwork results from the week prior before my appointment, but they attempted to conduct a funded visit despite that. When I asked repeatedly for the bloodwork results, the "nurse practitioner" yelled at me that she would speak (i.e., YELL) more slowly so I could understand that she had asked her staff to get the results.. She never confirmed that we would have the results to review. She was red in the face. She had had a bad day and I was her next patient. I did not appreciate my treatment. The nurse gave me the "old person" treatment and I will give this practice my absence. My life is critical to me but apparently not to this practice. read more

I was referred to Dr Caruso and the first appointment went well, i was scheduled for a test i didn't think i needed and ended up with a severe UTI, within three days after the test. I called to complain and was never called back and when i did get someone there was no, im sorry or call from the doctor asking what happen, I was never given follow up advise as to drink a lot of water, the nurse was in my opinion not following proper sterilization procedures, the cath came out and she just put it back in wiping the area with the same tissue paper, I never received a follow up call or appointment and when i did go in (after i called ) My appointment was for 330 to get the results of the test i got the UTI from and probably didn't need, I waited two hours, one in the waiting room and then another hour in the room, before walking out. No one peeked in to say anything and when i asked what was going on the nurse or aide shrugged her shoulders and said all i can do is schedule you for another appointment, guess i have to eat this loss and find another doctor. If there was less than one that would be my review what a waste of my time and health. read more

Zero stars! I have never been treated so horrible in my whole life! I was referred to Dr Caruso based on a previous test. My first appointment I sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half! They forgot about me! I had to go back up to the receptionist to remind her I was still waiting. The Dr Caruso did a test and then referred me to get a CTScan. The CT scan was done on a Thursday and Caruso said he would have the results on Friday and that if I didn't hear from him on Friday that I was to call his office on Monday for the results. I called Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday leaving messages each time begging to get the results. I was finally called back and told they had the wrong number for me- and someone would call me back with the results- they did not. I was crying and upset and called the radiologist and they were able to send me my results- which were not good and needed explanation. I called Caruso 3 more times to try and get info on my diagnosis and he would not call me! Instead he had a staff member tell me I needed to get another Cat scan and refer me to another doctor. HUGE waste of time! And caused so much stress , anger, anxiety, frustration and despair!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS UROLOGIST!!! read more

I was waiting for a referral for an urologist from my primary care doctor, and I got a call from Oceanside Urology to schedule an appointment. Thus, I thought that was the referral and scheduled a date. A week before the appointment, I get a call from them asking all my information and saying that they did not have the referral on file, which was weird to me. I asked how they got my phone number and name at first place if not from the referral and they could not answer. I gave my primary care doctor information and they said they would request the referral papers. A day before I get a call from them confirming the appointment and I thought that also meant the referral issue was sorted out. When I got there, I am told they do not have the referral and I should call my primary care doctor's office to ask for the referral if I wanted to be seen, what I think it is their job, not mine. Also, I think their job was to tell me in advance they have a problem with my referral and sort it out before I have to take time off from work and go all the way there. Actually, it turns out they are not the referral my primary care doctor requested, so they got my contact information some other way, who knows. I have nothing against the doctors since I do not even interact with them. Their staff, however, needs to learn how to do their job. read more

I felt I was carefully listened to and I never felt rushed at all, in spite of knowing and seeing how busy the office was. The staff was very pleasant to deal with, as well. Dr. Caruso and his nurse--I wish I had gotten her name to use here--take the necessary time to care for their patients, which makes any waiting time I spent well, well worth it. I went to Dr. Caruso based on a recommendation for a vasectomy. Overall the procedure went fine and I recovered fairly quickly and the doc made it clear exactly what to expect before, during and after which was good. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the front office sucks. Other than my 1st appointment, whenever I go in there I have to wait over an hour to see the doctor. For example, my appointment was 10:15am and I was brought back to a room at 11:18, and saw the doctor at 11:25. In talking with some of the nurses in the back it sounds like this is standard operating procedure for them, it would be really difficult for me to sync over an hour if I had to go there on a regular basis... I gave this same feedback to both the nurse and Dr. Caruso already, I just hope they address it and get more on time with appointments (or at least call me ahead of time so I know to come late and not waste my time). read more
