Dr. B is a sensational physician -- he gives the very best advice, is patient-friendly, and has a sense of humor -- I like that in a physician. And when a patient has questions and concerns, those are addressed fully and completely without Doc B. rushing the patient which, of course, causes the next patient to wait. One should be so lucky to have a physician who cares enough to spend time with a patient in addressing all his/her medical concerns. Mary, Doc B's assistant, is an exceptional assistant. She has a sense of humor, lightens the atmosphere with her wit and friendliness, and just makes one comfortable before their exam.

I saw Dr. Celigoj at South Florida Urology in Jupiter for a vasectomy consultation and procedure. During the consultation, the procedure was described as routine and straightforward, although I was told that a small percentage of patients can experience complications. During the procedure itself, I experienced a moment of extremely intense pain when I felt a strong tugging sensation on the vas deferens while one of the instruments was being used. I remember this moment clearly because it was sudden and alarming. Shortly after that, additional local anesthesia was administered. The day after the surgery I began experiencing severe pain that lasted for several days. Soon after, my testicle began swelling significantly. Over the following months the swelling became extreme and very painful. At one point the testicle had grown to roughly the size of a grapefruit. I dealt with this condition for approximately six to eight months. Eventually I was told the condition was a hydrocele. The explanation given to me was that it may have developed the day after surgery, possibly from straining while using the bathroom. However, based on the severe tugging sensation I experienced during the procedure, I have personally always been concerned that the complication may have been related to what occurred during the surgery. This experience has had a lasting impact on my quality of life. Even now my testicle remains enlarged (roughly the size of a ping pong ball) and I continue to experience pain. I do not know if it will ever return to normal. Another difficult part of this experience has been the financial aspect. All of the follow-up visits, evaluations, and discussions about potential treatments have been additional costs that I have had to pay for myself while still dealing with the complication. Throughout this process I personally felt that the seriousness of what I was experiencing was not met with the level of urgency or concern that I expected. Because of my personal experience and the complications I have lived with since this procedure, I would strongly encourage anyone considering a vasectomy -- particularly with this provider -- to carefully research the risks and weigh their options thoroughly before proceeding. For me, this procedure resulted in long-term physical and financial consequences that I continue to deal with today.

As someone who usually keeps things simple and straightforward, I'm going a bit more in-depth this…read moretime because I think it's important for others to understand exactly what we experienced. This review is about our time with the Jupiter Lakes location of OB/GYN Specialists during what was supposed to be a joyful and supportive journey, our 1st pregnancy. Instead, it became a stressful and frankly disheartening and disillusioned experience that I feel others should know about. When my wife faced a serious mental health crisis, we turned to her OB/GYN providers for compassion and coordination. We expected that, as healthcare professionals who knew her situation, they would help us navigate this tough time. Instead, we received a letter out of the blue, no phone call, no conversation, saying they were transferring her care away from their facility. It was a cold piece of paper delivered to our door by a mail carrier, no heads-up, no empathy. It was only after we, along with our insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield), had to push for more information that we found out the sole reason was because of the episode she experienced. What struck me most, and why I'm writing this detailed review, is that our insurance's behavioral health specialist showed more compassion than the doctors we trusted with my wife's prenatal care. They were more concerned about policies than about the well-being of a pregnant woman going through a hard time. I want to be clear: this is about the Jupiter Lakes location specifically. We saw in other reviews that we weren't alone in facing issues here, and it's important for others to know that this location may not provide the empathy you'd hope for in vulnerable moments. In the end, this is a one-star from me because no family should have to go through what we did. I'm not writing this out of vengeance; I'm writing it because I believe in being honest and detailed so others can make informed decisions. We learned the hard way that not every healthcare provider will offer the compassion you expect, especially when you're going through something as delicate as a first pregnancy combined with mental health challenges. I hope this review helps others know what to expect from this specific location. It's not about the entire OB/GYN Specialists group, but if you're looking for a place that truly stands by you in a difficult time, you might want to think twice about this particular office.
