Ive worked in the financial services industry at other much larger institutions, myself for over 30 years, now happily retired. Melissa O, the branch manager is always on point along with Todd her very capable assistant Mgr, Rich the investment guru and along with fellow staff members Diane Marie and Jessica. Its an excellent staff that provides consistent customer service all the time. If you're looking for personalized attentive service, you cant beat Provident Bank Plaza Drive Holiday City Branch. Its the little bank that could, and that's the bottom line.

Stay away from Provident Bank in Toms River. My parents went to close their CD on 6/19, but because…read morethe bank was closed for Juneteenth, my parents had to take care of their CD on 6/20. They had a 10 day grace period to do so, and the 19th was day 10. The bank did not take the holiday into consideration in terms of the 10 day grace period. This was never stated on the CD renewal reminder. Because of this, my parents acquired a $450 penalty fee which upset them quite a bit. Because my parents are older and partially disabled, my sister and I went in today to understand the entire situation. We were told that my parents should have come in on 6/18 to take care of their CD. Well, that's only an 8 day grace period. The banker(Danielle Cali)went in the back to call her manager and came back to tell us she needed the CD money back. She even loudly disclosed the amount, so that other customers could hear. That is private information that should not have been exposed. When we told her that the money was put in another bank, because who keeps large amounts of money at home, she began screaming at us, telling us to get out of HER bank, and if we did not leave, she was calling the police. For what? For asking question? We were very civilized towards her. As I was trying to thank her for her time, she continued to yell in my face and so did a male banker from behind the counter. It was humiliating on our part and very unprofessional on their part. I am still in shock that we were treated so inhumanely. My poor mother was trying to leave as fast as she could, even though she can only walk with a cane. I felt so bad for her. If I knew these 2 bankers were going to react this way, I would have never gone in and just allowed my parents to take the $450 loss. As children age, taking care of their parents is the right thing to do. We tried, and look what happened. It was a very barbaric reaction, leaving a very traumatic effect.

I'm going to go against the grain and say that I like TD bank. I preferred Commerce, but that's…read moreonly because I favor blue and red over green. People may grouse about interest rates, but bank interest has been nearly nonexistent for years, so I'm not sure what they want. The other complaints I hear are about overdraft fees, but if, like a responsible adult, you keep enough money in your account to cover your debits, that is amazingly never a problem. I find the staff here friendly, helpful, and efficient. The company as a whole is fantastic, because there are branches everywhere. You put your money in, and they give it back to you or pay it out as you need it. It's a bank, for Pete's sake. It's not a day spa or a charity.
