Everything went well! Len is a gracious host/proprietor; he offers 3 escape rooms to choose from. This visit was my second and it was as enjoyable as the first. I've done 'Mummy's Curse' and 'Nonna's Kitchen'. Len cheerily explained all the rules, tips and types of locks prior to starting. On each visit, as we progressed through the tasks, if Len saw we were struggling, he offered hints to guide us along without penalty to time, even adding some bonus minutes at the end if we were close to 'escape'. The website is easy to navigate when making reservations. The cost is modest and well worth the experience. I recommend Ocean State Escape if you're looking for some good clean fun. read more

This was my 1st escape room. I have played online and love puzzles. My son was going back to college, 900miles away and I want to have something nice to us to do. I booked just for two of us. The experience was extraordinary! Since we were the last group, when we finish we continue to talk with the owner. We learned that is a family owned business where they design all the puzzles. I definitely recommend to visit! No minimum participants (although some puzzles requires two person working together). I will surely visit again! read more

My team and I were very pleased with our adventure at Ocean State Escape. It's lovely to see a tight-knit and friendly family enter the escape room business, especially when it's done well! "Nonna's House" was a well designed room with a good background story and a variety of different puzzles mixed in, some with more advanced mechanics. I wish the ending was a little more conclusive and included Nonna a bit more rather than simply us finding the money and exiting the room, but that's us being nitpick-y. Ocean State Escape has not been open long, but so far they are doing a nice job keeping up with the bigger names in the state. There is some room for improvement - as one would expect for any new business - but they have a lot of true potential. I'm looking forward to see what they come up with in the future. Our first escape room, so nothing to compare with so far, but had a great experience. We went into Nonna's room with 2 grandchildren,11 and 8 and all 4 of us had a blast! Loved it! We did their Christmas room for some Xmas in August feels! It was so much fun!!!!! Love love love. They told us some people find it hard and others find it super Easy which is crazy because we are usually pros and work w no clues and we actually got completely stuck and had to ask for help. Very surprising! We actually bought tickets next day to do nonnas house. Love that this is a family owned operation. We talked to the whole family and they're the nicest people and it's so cool that everyone has an area of expertise that allows them to be a killer team!! The Christmas room itself had a lot of fun puzzles. But they were puzzles that you had to think about and not just "do" like in some other rooms. It also wasn't linear which is really good for our team, we hate linear rooms. Can't wait for their Egypt room to get up and running! We'll be waiting :) read more

My wife and I were matched up with another couple for the room and got out! A great escape room that's newly opened (at the time of playing) with some of the nicest staff that we've had the pleasure to meet. The room itself wasn't overly challenging- with a fun theme and lots to do. Parallel puzzles allow for groups to be doing multiple things at once without being overwhelmed, and it always feels like you're being pointed in the right direction- the Hallmark of a great room that wants to see you have fun. An easy 5 stars, we plan on returning, and recommend anyone- fresh or a vet, to come and check them out! read more

I had an amazing experience!!! I love how all of their rooms are original and built by them. They are a big family who are escape room enthusiasts and started one of their own. I travel for work and try to do a room wherever I am but sometimes I'm alone. They were happy to accommodate me too! I did Nonna's House and it was amazing. I loved every puzzle and there was a great flow to the room. I even got my escape room passport there and am now starting to collect some stamps! It was a great experience and I highly recommend checking them out. I will definitely be back there and plan on doing all of their rooms at some point. Wow, what a great experience! We just left our first trip to Ocean State Escape and it was fantastic. We have never done an escape room, so we totally didn't know what to expect, but it was much much better than anything I could have anticipated. My sister and I brought my two sons (8 and 11), and while we definitely ALL struggled with the clues, the "Game Master" was so helpful, sending hints whenever we seemed stuck (so, every few minutes or so). And they also extended our time, as no way we were figuring it out in an hour! Getting an 8 and 11 year old to stay focused (and not rip each other and/or the room apart) was no easy task, and by the end they were definitely lagging, but the Game Master noticed that as well and structured the hints so they would be easier to get. Also, they figured out which kid belonged to which name (probably after hearing me say them about 3000 times in the first 5 minutes) and gave clues that were specific to where they were and what they should look for next, as well as some words of encouragement. Really really glad we tried this place, and will definitely be back. Everyone was beyond friendly and welcoming, the rooms were so thoughtfully put together, and it was just plain fun to be there.
