I showed up for my first appointment and waited for 45 minutes before I got up to ask what's wrong. Turns out that they just completely forgot all about me. Despite having my appointment card (in their handwriting), they just didn't seem to care at all and suggested that I refer to the "Psychology Today" website to find a different clinician. Very bizarre. I had just been discharged from an Intensive Outpatient Program (and a psychiatric hospital before that) and these people just completely ghosted me. I got the impression that the clinicians at Mindful Solutions aren't really up to the task of treating severe psychiatric disorders. Nice work, Mindful Solutions [/sarcasm]. When I moved back to New Jersey in 2022, I had to begin my search for a therapists, and it was terrible. Some wouldn't call back, one was unprofessional and would call at weird times, but Positive Reset was right on the ball. Signing up for it was all online which was a little strange because I'm so used to doing everything in person, but I gave it a shot and it was worth it. They do do in person sessions which I love, so you have the option of going in person or virtual, which is good. The quality of care is phenomenal. I haven't a therapist this good in a while. She is kind, compassionate, and very intuitive. She understands things in a way I never thought possible, and she uses techniques that I've never heard of before, and they work! She is highly qualified, and she cares about me and wants to help. And she always looks to learn more about therapy and what's best to help the patient. It makes me feel safe, and it makes me feel like I'm actually getting better instead of just staying stagnant like I've felt with different therapists. The office is clean, well lit, quick to reply when you contact them, just good all around. 10/10 do recommend.

Originally posted 4/2023:…read more Please, if you value your mental health, DO NOT GO HERE. Right now I'm being retroactively charged for appointments from MONTHS AGO. I've paid my co-pays but still this practice is demanding money that I don't owe and refuses to connect me with my psychiatrist while I am in the middle of tapering off my medication (this is a HUGE danger to my health and well-being). UPDATE: I had to go for a psych eval. at the ER a few weeks ago because I was having such horrible mental side effects after having to taper off my medicines WITH ZERO medical guidance. This practice has lied to me multiple times. They have told me my health insurance hasn't paid anything out (a lie, I have an explanation of benefits that proves my insurance paid what they were supposed to). Then I was lied to again and was told the PA-C I've been seeing has been out-of-network the whole time, even though I've been charged the in-network rate for months. I love the PA-C I've been seeing (Christina Tallone), but unfortunately cannot tolerate such a LYING, RUDE, and DISRESPECTFUL office staff, namely the office manager, who decided to suddenly tell me when I was on the phone with her, "We're not taking your insurance anymore," all because she was annoyed with me. They outright refused to send me a letter confirming this. The office manager also lied to me about HIPAA compliance; when I tried to get my partner on the phone to talk to the office manager because I was getting too upset to carry on with the conversation as she kept interrupting me, she claimed I was violating HIPAA even though I gave express verbal consent that my partner was allowed to talk about my situation on the phone with them. Under HIPAA, formal authorization is not needed to disclose patient payment information; verbal consent from the patient is enough. So really they violated HIPAA... UPDATE: In another attempt to extort money from me, the office staff purposefully and wrongfully billed my secondary insurance company (THE WRONG ONE) which I previously specified does not pay out for mental health. This practice should not even be in operation. I hope to see them shut down one day. No one should have to go through what I'm going through with them.

He is very kind, understanding and truly cares about me. In 2015 I lost my oldest daughter to an overdose , then in 2017 I also lost my oldest son, same way. Dr. Berkowitz helped me to get through this, he told me I'll never get over it but I've mamanged to be able to live and enjoy my life with my 3 other children and 4 granddaughters. I was on the verge of sucide! Dr. Berkowitz truly showed me compassion and sympathy. He actually took the time to talk to me and to tell me that my other children and granddaughters deserved to have a Mother that wasn't crying and sad all the time because that hurt them and they were also suffering from the loss of their siblings. I had to be strong enough to keep my family together. They needed me. Also advised me to get to grief groups, which I do go to and it helps tremendously knowing that I'm not the only one in this terrible and painful position. I love him, he is an awesome and caring Dr. He actually took the time to talk to me, when other Dr.'s just write prescriptions and rush you out. I'm very upset because he is retiring, but I'm also happy for him.I pray that I can find another Dr. that can fill his shoes, I know that I will miss him trmendously! He told me although he is retiring I can call him anytime if I needed to talk, he gave me his personal cell phone number. God Bless Dr. Berkowitz and I hope he enjoys his retirement and gets to travel a lot more. He loves traveling with his wife and friends. Later on in the appointment, a different doctor who I don't recall the name of entered the room. He was a complete jerk who talked down to me as if I was clinically insane. He drilled the importance of prescribing mind numbing pills to help "calm" my anxiety. I was visiting the office mainly for coughing, shortness of breath, and phlegm. The way he talked down to me caused the most intense anxiety attack I think I've ever had? He also then brought his own moral beliefs into the conversation. By the end of his 5 minute soapbox, I had completely forgot about the reason I was even there. I looked at my mother who was also slightly shaken by the experience and we tried to conclude the office visit as quickly as possible. I feel bad for the nice lady doctor I was there to see. However I completely believe that the condescending jerk of a doctor who talked to me like I was living incorrectly, should find a new occupation. DO NOT VISIT THIS OFFICE.
