The staff here was relatively nice but I am came here with my kids as my insurance assigned me to the office. They offer services to kids but are most definitely not a pediatric office. The tools they use to acquire x rays didn't fit in my 6 year olds mouth. In addition, I was absolutely shocked by the cleanliness of the office. They had a dirty tool on my daughter's tray and I asked them to replace the tray with all sanitized tools. I would avoid this office at all costs. read more

I want to start by saying that the dentist hygienist and staff at your office always been very kind and welcoming. However, today December 5,2025 I experienced an issue that I feel needs to be addressed. I had an appointment scheduled for December 5,2025 I received both confirmation and reminders so I took time off from work to attend. When I arrived the front desk staff informed me that my health net insurance was not longer accepted to the office. She mentioned she would verify whether I was still active, and after checking she confirmed that my plan was indeed not acceptable. What concerns me is that this information was not communicated to me before my appointment. Since the front desk had access to my insurance I am assure why I was not notified ahead of time especially when the appointment was booked and then later confirmed had I been informed me earlier I could have made other arrangements and avoid work unnecessarily. I felt that the situation was handled without the courtesy or professionalism I expected I left feeling very frustrated as this could have been easily prevented with a simple phone call or message. A couple of times now office does not follow insurance co-pay they try to overcharge I do not recommend this office specially if they don't follow the copayment guidelines what I can't understand my insurance called to clear a charge which is at o copay and they refuse and still want to charge amount Please double check with your insurance what your copay should be and don't sign anything. read more

To anyone who struggles with dental anxiety or who doesn't want to be treated poorly, stay clear from this dentist!! I left in tears and frustration from how rude almost every staff aside from the receptionist was. This was probably the least welcoming dental/medical office I have ever been to. Nobody made me feel comfortable. I was at the office for over an hour and the doctor only looked at my teeth for maybe 5 minutes... I had a 9am appointment slot and was one of the first patients of the day. I was told I would have to have a deep cleaning and they refused to just perform a regular cleaning/polish on me -- claiming I HAD to have the deep cleaning. Even if l could benefit from a deep cleaning... I don't have periodontal disease, maybe early gingivitis. But a regular cleaning is what I was looking to have done at this appointment and then would tend to the other treatments at a later appointment. Additionally, the dentist claimed I had 10+ cavities without even looking at my X-rays to begin with. Never looking at my X-rays and trying to claim all of this?! And she had a judgmental attitude to her tone. Without explaining anything to me or showing me on the X-rays the work that needed to be done. I left so defeated and feeling like my teeth were horrible. Then I got to thinking that maybe they only wanted to do a deep cleaning so their office could bill my insurance and they get money for it. My first visit and I am very impressed with the front desk and with the dentist. I, like most people, have a phobia about going to the dentist and have had past negative experiences with dentists. The people at the front desk are very nice and friendly. They are the first impression you get of the dental office. My dentist was awesome in his care for my dental problem. I was a potential new client but after filling out all their paperwork I come across a "cancellation policy" which they demand you sign to pay $85 if you cancel/modify your appointment within 24 hrs of any scheduled appointment. Am sorry but as an adult I like to be treated as such and these petty policies are outrages. Everyone that works here is genuinely kind and respectful. Sure wait times can be long but you need to expect that whenever you go to a health care facility. 2 weeks ago I had a root canal procedure and today I came back for my temporary crown. Dr. G and Gabby were the health care professionals that worked on me today. Both of them showed great work and bed side manners. It was extremely hard for me to keep my mouth open as long as I had to but they assisted me through the pain. 10/10 would recommend anyone to go here for the dental needs! Ocean dental has the best customer service starting with their receptionist Yolanda which is a sweetheart and very helpful. Both dental assistants Lisa and Ashley were extremely nice and made you feel comfortable. Dr. Afifi by far has been the best dentist I've ever had. She is very comforting. She's very knowledgeable and makes you feel like you're in a safe place with no judgment. I went in feeling a little nervous and self conscious, but she had me take a deep breath and reassured me they're there to help. The facility itself is very clean and very spacious. I don't understand how so many people are reviewing this place and stating that they are welcoming. I have been here on three separate occasions and every time they have been dismissive and unwelcoming. I have not been greeted by anyone any of the times that I have entered the office. All the receptionist have always been on the phone and simply stared at me when I entered. At the very least they could have waived or told me that they'd be with me shortly. I have stood in front of them for too many minutes during my visits waiting for them to acknowledge me. Today was the one day that someone else actually came from the back to help me because all the receptionist were on the phone and I was just standing there. I visited because I had to have emergency oral surgery done. If I did not have to have this procedure with them I would have not came back after my first visit here. I waited over a month to be called by them to schedule an appointment for the removal of a wisdom tooth that was impacted and growing out close to a nerve and they never called me. I was supposed to be on a waiting list to be seen, but after waiting for a significant amount of time for them to reach out to me, I finally called them and was able to set up an appointment. The day of the surgery , the surgeon and his assistant did not have the correct information for what tooth I was going to have pulled although I had spoken to one of the women at the front desk multiple times and stated to her that I only wanted my left bottom wisdom tooth removed. I had to wait for them to check if my insurance approved this- eventhough I had given them this info before. It was such a drag. I was also told that I was going to be put to sleep, but the surgeon and his assistant did not receive this information so I fasted for nothing. I'm glad the surgeon ended up telling me that I could just have the area numbed and that I didn't get put to sleep because of how ill-informed these people seem to be. The area that was going to have the tooth removed was numbed and I was able to continue to communicate with the surgeon, but I could only imagine if I was put to sleep and I woke up with other teeth missing that I did not want pulled because they didn't have the right information. After my procedure, I was stitched up, given gauze and sent home. No one told me anything about me having to go back for a follow-up. Almost a week after my procedure, on June 6th, I called them to see if I needed to go in for a follow-up and asked if my stitches were dissolvable. A woman told me that I needed to go in and that she wasn't sure whether the surgeon use dissolvable stitches or not. I was infuriated because it's as if if I hadn't called them to check in, they would not have called me. These people are negligent and do not seem to care about the patients that they have. Maybe they only care about certain patients with certain insurance/form of payment, but I do know that I feel like they didn't care about me- someone with medical/la care insurance. *I have this insurance as I am a student and only work part time atm*. Today for my check up, the dental assistant or dentist came in and asked me to open my mouth and started poking at my healing wound without warning. I winced in pain and she was so rude to me when she needed to use a mirror to look inside my mouth. Telling me in a very rude tone to breathe through my nose as she was poking me with the mirror on my wound just like she had been with her finger. Of course it's going to be difficult to breathe just from your nose when you're being stabbed in your mouth. I left my check up today with more pain then I have had since my wisdom tooth was removed. It is absolutely ridiculous how this dental office is so unwelcoming, dismissive, and seemingly negligent. I will never come back here again unless it is an absolute emergency and I have nowhere else to go to. This is the sort of office that makes you not want to go to a dentist again until you are absolutely withering in pain and have no choice but to visit a dentist. read more

This dental group is very unprofessional and attempted to overcharge us for a routine procedure. Came in for a very minor chipped tooth and they said the copay would be $75-we called the insurance before any work was done to confirm and they informed us it should've been fully covered. When we told them we wouldn't require their services and left, they became extremely rude and hung up on us multiple times when we called back to delete our account information, as well as saying, verbatim, "Is there anything else you'd like to complain about?" read more

Dr Wang is amazing!!! My visit started with George the receptionist welcoming me and having me fill out the necessary paperwork. Next, Lisa took my X-rays. She was very sweet and gentle and didn't gag me like most times I've gotten them done. Then Dr Wang promptly came in and did my diagnosis. She was extremely thorough and listened intently on my concerns. Mari, the OM then came in to discuss my insurance and treatment options. Overall, I was very impressed with the office. read more

Came here a few weeks back with my children for a semiannual teeth cleaning. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes for the doctor to arrive after we were seated in the room, with no apology or acknowledgement. I waited in the reception area and was surprised when my kids came out after five minutes--the dentist then said "that's all the insurance covered" and would require another surcharge for a more thorough cleaning. read more

Don't waste your time here. They won't even do the covered cleaning for you. They tried to sell me over $1000 deep cleaning with some extra that insurance won't covered. I spent more than 2 hours here and Dr only spent 5 mins checking my teeth and then the manager came to sell me more things that I don't need. Wow 5stars dentist I came all the way from Carson to this location and I will keep going back. I was shocked to see any bad reviews as I been here more than 5 times and every time I've encountered great service the receptionist Yolanda is amazing and all the front staff. She's so welcoming and sweet I love how she knows everyone who walks in the door by name makes it very comfortable being there. Dr Ozder did my extraction of wisdom teeth/front tooth and my family was shocked how I was fine and not swollen or in pain after, he was so quick and amazing I'm still shocked. Dr Yaseen examined me on my 1st first visit did all my fillings wow he was so caring and great and understood my anxiety I have going to dentist but wow was he great. Gabriela,Daniel, Caesar, Lisa those are the Assistance who were all so sweet and caring. Ashley was great she did my cleaning which felt amazing after. My husband was seen in May 2023 to get a denture. He was told he needed to have his bone cut down before he could be fitted. For six months he called and was told he'd receive a call back to get started and never heard back. As his wife, I finally got involved and spoke to the office manager. She scheduled an appointment for Oct 27th to discuss cost, procedure, etc. we received a text today to reschedule the appointment and were told the reason was he had to be referred out to an oral surgeon because they cannot perform the procedure. The office manager should have told us this during our previous call instead of further delay his treatment. At this time I questioned why he was also being told he needed a deep cleaning, despite the fact he had one already this year from another dentist. The receptionist when asked why this was being recommended, said, "how would we know if he already had one?" It should have been obvious but she told me that the previous dentist must not have done a good job if their X-ray shows he needed one. I'm tired of dentist trying to rip us off for unnecessary procedures. I informed Ocean Dental I'll be reporting them for the delay in his treatment as well as trying to scam us out of more money by scheduling unnecessary procedures. Six months wasted with this dentist office and we still haven't been able to get my husband a denture. read more

It had been a long time since I went to the dentist, so of course I was really nervous. Thankfully, one of the dental workers, Lisa, made my visit very pleasant and comfortable. She was patient with me and didn't mind me asking a lot of questions. I had a cavity filled, which surprisingly didn't take long at all and they cleaned my teeth. The service at this particular dental office is absolutely horrible and unprofessional, I'm a new patient, they scheduled me at 2 for my first appointment, when I got there they were out to lunch and didn't begin my paperwork until around 2:45, it was a fairly quick visit, they rescheduled my tooth removal for the following Wednesday at 3pm. Sure enough when i get there, the door is locked and they were out to lunch. I finally get called back around 3:45, the dentist didn't come in and see me for another hour. After they finally came back to numb my tooth, I sat for another HOUR before they came back and began work, when they began to work I told the dentist that I felt the pain, and she kept telling me that "I need to know how to tell the difference between pain and pressure " I'm 30 years old I know the difference, after about another hour or trying to extract the tooth, the dentist finally came to the conclusion that it was in fact pain I was feeling...this dentist office is VERY VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, and I don't recommend anyone going to them, after all was said and done, I didn't leave the office until 6:45, tooth partially removed, and rescheduled to come back. I will not be going back for the remainder of the procedure. Absolutely horrible read more

Love that they accepted new patients and Yolanda scheduled me the next day. She was so helpful and friendly. Before getting seen by the doctor, Lisa her assistant greeted and treated me so kind. Then Dr Afifi came in and made me feel so comfortable. It's hard to find doctors that do that lol once Dr had a game plan, she was so genuine and honest with what my teeth needed. They do not respect those who have been patients for years the last management team at least took those in consideration when it came to pricing I would not recommend anyone to come to this ocean dental. I'm not sure about this place. The staff is very nice and friendly but service is slooooowwwww. Be prepared to wait! And it seems like there is always an issue. My father had impressions about 3 weeks ago and now we're being told that the impressions were accepted by the lab??? So we're having to wait again for a permanent. I feel bad for my dad. He also lost his temporary twice! I've never heard of that happening. We were told 25 minutes to 1 hour but he lasted over 2 hours!!! When I asked what was taking so long I was told that he's almost done. Today my dad tells me that they kept taking impressions, a total of 4 times! He was told it wasn't right and they'd have to do it again!!! When I asked and questioned why they couldn't answer me and was told they'd have to cal the lab. That bothers me that a dentist you wouldn't ask why? Either way the work is being done and we have to return now in two weeks. Hopefully because we expressed our disappointment they will do the work that we're paying for read more
