It has been 20 years since I last saw an ENT. Ocala is weird and you "need" a referral for any type of specialist. I requested a referral from my Endo for an ENT due to issues with my ears and he referred me to this place. It was actually the only place my husband found on our insurance that was covered in Ocala. I will say, the one less star on the review is due to the scheduling. I initially called after receiving the referral and had a lot of trouble getting through. I received a call a week later, reaching out to make me an appointment but I did not have time to call back. They called maybe a week later stating this was the last time they were going to reach out because they reached out several times...Okay? Fun times, I tried calling a 3rd and 4th time with no success- because they source the calls through somewhere on the other side of the world! Wtf?? That was extremely frustrating and took up a lot of time. They were also very rude. Since I had no direction from the reps on the phone, I initially went to the wrong office. Upon entering, there was no one at the desk so I had to walk over to the check out area to inquire about the correct office, which she directed me to the correct one. Finally I get to the correct office and was given a clipboard of paperwork to complete. Luckily it was not extravagant. I was then told my copay was $195, again WTF! The associate mumbled what the charge was for but I still did not hear her. I guess I will wait for the EOB to double check. I was called into an exam room shortly after completing the paperwork by an assistant, to which she went over why I was there and completed the intake. She then did a quick check in my ears and informed me my right ear was completely blocked and the dr will be in shortly. Dr. Stephen Reynolds was the provider I was scheduled to see and he came in shortly after the assistant and introduced himself. Dr. Reynolds was professional and confirmed all the information gathered. He examined my nose and throat first, to which he informed me that I have deviated septum, which was news to me but made sense. When he got to my ears, he confirmed what the assistant said about my right ear being completely blocked. My endo put on the referral that I was having drainage issues, to which Dr. Reynolds informed me it was just an abundance of wax and everything else looked great, with no damage. I was so elated to hear this! Dr. Reynolds offered to see me in a year to check on my ears again, to which I agreed. I was then led to the checkout area and offered a seat to wait. Another employee checked me out and scheduled me for the following year. So far, my ears are better and the issues have not returned. Everyone was professional and everything was clean. read more

After receiving the referral from my primary care doctor, I heard nothing from them for 3 1/2 weeks even after I called them 3 times trying to speak to someone for an appointment. They wouldn't even transfer me to anyone and said I'd have to wait for their call. A horrible way to run a medical practice! Stay far away if you need care any time soon. read more

Had an exam at this practice many months ago but when I called I requested a specific doctor, different from my previous doctor, no call back with an appointment. Called on Monday, was told waiting on prior doctor to release patient to the new doctor, no call back with an appointment. Called on Wednesday, was told they were waiting on new doctor to accept patient (me), no call back with appointment. It is now Friday and still no call back with an appointment. You cannot speak to a live person that is actually in the office, you get a call center of people that barely speak or understand English. I am an existing patient but cannot get any new appointments with different provider without an act of congress, when I first started going here, things were very different and personable .. make your own choices but read all the reviews first. read more

I was referred to this location from the VA. On my first appointment, the doctor did not have my CT scan but did have the Radiologists report and looked in my nose and found a deviated septum with a bone spur. He said he would recommend surgery and he went into a long explanation of what he would do using all the medical jargon possible. I did question him and he explained, but why did he not just explain it in layman's terms? I asked him what the side effects were and he said while doing surgery he could hit my eye or my brain and cause more damage, that was comforting (NOT). I was then referred to have an Allergy test and all the results that came back were everything I knew when I arrived. And then I asked if they received my images and the nurse said she would check, but by the time she did check, everyone was out to lunch. Moreover, I asked if I could see the doctor briefly but was advised all the Dr's were at lunch as well. Oh, and the other thing is they want you to take shots or drops for 3 years to reduce/eliminate the allergies and the drops are $200 every 3 months. Seems a little sketch to me. Thus, after 2 visits - 1 hour drives each way to the ENT clinic, I still don't know anything more than when I started the process. I have since asked to go to the Gainesville VA, at least there I will be certain they have all the scans. read more

Save your money find another ENT Company. I visited Dr Scott Nadenik to review a nose polyic I needed removed. Scott recommended a CT scan for futher evaluation. We also scheduled a follow up appointment to discuss the results. I was outside of the country and want to use the appointment to discuss the results but The office manager Kevin refused to let me talk with Scott. He said he couldn't discuss results or work on a plan to move froward. I understand they cannot move forward without a in person meeting. But office managers refusal to let Scott speak for himself is disrepectful to Sott as well as to the customer. This place is a terrable choice for you Medical procedures. I'm not even a patient at this place but based on their customer service I would not recommend this place. For the past week I have been receiving texts and phone calls from this place regarding my appointment. I even had a doctor call me for my non-existent telemedicine appointment. I have told their answering service located in another country multiple times that they have the wrong number only to get another phone call the next day. The answering service is asking me for date of birth and other personal information. GET A CLUE! I am not the man you are looking for!!! . I have never encountered such carelessness and incompetence. My daughter was referred by an emergency room to this facility. I called, gave the information to make the appointment. A gentleman told me that her case was an emergency and she he was going to contact the medical assistant to get an appointment as early as possible. A week went by. I called back because nobody was giving me an appointment. The receptionist was rude and dismissive; said that I had to wait for them to get an approval from the insurance in order to make an appointment. It has been three weeks and they have never called me. I keep calling and they just get nasty. Had sinus infections twice a year for the last 15 years. Finally got so bad that I could not stand the pain and over-the-counter medication's were not helping. Had an MRI which showed sinuses completely blocked. Had all six sinuses operated on and have had no trouble since. These doctors are excellent, the staff is amazing, they are very professional and responsive. I highly recommend them. read more

I'm new to the area and found myself with a clogged ear. I usually go to the ENT every 6 months this to get my ears checked and cleaned but it had been quite a bit longer since relocating. 1 of the Drs. had called in sick that morning so there were lots of patients needing to either be rescheduled or worked into the schedule and it was understandable that I had to wait a bit for my appointment. When I finally was taken back I found the staff personable and competent. It was the PA who finally cleaned out my ears and he was v. friendly, outgoing and did an excellent job with my ears. No complaints at all and I'll be returning every 6 months. read more

Dr. Nadenik is one of the very best E.N.T. doctors/surgeons I've ever been fortunate enough to call my doctor. He listens to his patients and does everything in his control to help them. Years ago he performed surgery on my young daughter and me for different reasons and was so very professional, caring and knowledgeable that I won't go to any other E.N.T. anywhere else. read more

A few years back before Covid I was referred to Jose Mercado, PA. He tested everything and then discussed what my possibilities could be especially with a cough I have had for years. But nothing was done intil now 2024 when I returned to him. We reviewed my diagnosis and talked about several choices. I chose the one for rhinitis (don't remember name) but scheduled in office surgery. Jose Mercado was the best. He was very attentive, professional, kind, and funny! I was very nervous but he helped calm me down. Surgery was great and my cough is gone. I can breathe so much better! His office staff was also very efficient and professional! I was referred to Ocala ENT, and it took some phone tag to set up my initial appointment. I was expecting to fill out some new patient information, and never received a packet. I called the morning of my appointment to ask about the packet, and to confirm my appt. since I did not receive any robo-call reminder. Left a VM but did not receive a call back, so I went early just in case I had to do paperwork. They had not scheduled an appointment for me - and this after all the phone tag earlier! I asked about the paperwork and was handed the packet, set up a new appointment, and left feeling totally uncomfortable with this medical office. I will call my referring physician and see what my options are, but so far I'm concerned about what the quality of my care will be. read more

By far the worst medical experience I have ever had... first the doctor was late, then he "forgot" to sign he note as to what services were provided and what medication was to be called in. Due to his failure to properly document my appointment, I was over charged, and it took three days past my appointment date to receive my medictation. I am still waiting to be reinbursted for 71.00 for a service that was not provided. Of course they did not know that becuase he failed to document. And not to mention it has been impossible to get a hold of anyone on the phone there! read more

1st visit on check in I learned that I paid more with insurance than the woman behind me that had none.. WHAT? The DR i was assigned to, Dr Jiron didnt listen well to everything I told him, just wanted me to hear and do what he said.. 2nd visit for follow up, I left again feeling I wasn't listened to. Both appointments were rushed..most of the staff are not friendly. Maybe they walk on pins and needles. Dr Jiron was very short with the assistant that was in the room with us on the 2nd visit. i felt sorry for the young girl. An employer should always address their employee in private. Incompetence on parade! I've never has a worse experience with a medical practice. I visited Dr. Grayson for vertigo. He spent, literally, 2.5 minutes with me, diagnosed the reason for my dizziness (which had gone away that morning), and told me if it occurred again to call his practice for a referral to a physical therapist. For this he charged me $120. Roughly $50 per minute, or $2,900 per hour. The vertigo came back about 3 weeks later and I began my quest to get the promised referral. I have now called them 5 times over the last week and have never received a call back. Today I spoke at length with front-desk personnel and was PROMISED a referral by the end of the day. No surprise, I've heard NOTHING. No call, no email, no text. This is truly a medical practice that doesn't give a shit about its patients. Once they had my payment they stopped caring what happened to me. I`ve been treated as an annoyance, not a customer. I recommend avoiding this practice at all costs. Find someone else. read more

DECEPTIVE BILLING PRACTICES! Went in for an ear cleaning. Paid $120 bill on the way out. No other charges were brought up. About four months later I receive another bill for $65. Being that I've never once not paid my entire bill upon leaving a doctor, I decided to call them. "We have post-it notes up that explain this." Was their epically bad response. I guess they didn't see my post-it note that says "It's not my job to read post-it notes." I wonder how many elderly (there were a lot) patients pay their bill. Don't read an off to the side post-it note. Then get double billed and pay it thinking they missed a payment. They also send the letter with only a few days before it hits collection. Y'know really trying to force your hand. I asked if I would be receiving another bill for contacting them about my billing. The lady on the other end more than likely thought of this as another brilliant idea in their scam. $185 folks. No ins. Ear cleaning. I live in Miami. I pay $55 down there. This office is "mask obsessed". I was rudely treated from the moment I walked in the door, but obediently put my muzzle on as requested. I was then told that I couldn't wait in the (empty) lobby, but had to wait in my car "because of Covid". All of this was a little over the top for me, but I can deal with it. The real issue came though when the doctor walked in to the exam room and found me (by myself) not wearing my mask. He immediately scolded me for not wearing my mask at ALL times. It got worse when I dared to ask why I needed to wear a mask while in a large room by myself. The rhetoric was very aggressive and certainly not "science-based". read more

I was referred here once before and wasn't overly impressed. This time however, Dr Grayson was kind and spent quite a bit of time with me. He put me at ease about my upcoming surgery. The wait to see the Dr wasn't long. The office help was professional but not what I'd call friendly. I'm a little concerned about the negative reviews I've read here. I visited Ocala ENT on March 1, 2023. In my 67 years I've never received a worse reception. Entirely "old school" experience. Dowdy building. Unfriendly, condescending, unhelpful staff and an intensely uncomfortable waiting room. It started with the check-in, with a receptionist who had a curiously superior attitude, like you'd find in doctors' offices decades ago. Next, the reception area was frigid -- I mean the temperature was somewhere in the 60s, with constantly blowing cold air. I asked someone sitting next to me if she was cold, and all at once several people laughed and said yes! I asked the unfriendly receptionist if the AC could be adjusted. He said no, that they do medical procedures and need it cold. I asked if they do those procedures in the reception area, and if not, had they ever heard of zone controlled air conditioning. He said, unapologetically, he could do nothing but would mention it to the office manager. I've been in dozens and dozens of medical reception areas in every kind of healthcare facility imaginable, including those that perform "procedures." This place was ridiculously cold! When I sat back down, the person next to me said she'd been waiting an hour for the same doctor I had an appointment with. No way I was going to endure this torture for an hour. So I went back to the receptionist and asked to speak to the office manager. Eventually the office manager, Carol Locke, came to the window. Her tone and facial expression made clear she was annoyed and that this would not be an easy conversation. I asked about the cold. She said it was 72 and she wasn't going to change it. Okay, I swear on both my parents' graves, it was way colder, plus several people said they were cold and uncomfortable. I said the cold was bordering on a health issue and that if she didn't address it I would complain to the appropriate health agency. She smiled (seriously) and said, "Go ahead, the Florida Health Department doesn't regulate our reception area." And, indeed, she was right -- she's obviously been down this road before with other impertinent patients who would dare to complain.I could have filed a different kind of complaint but decided not to waste the time. So instead, I'm warning you. I should have just gone to an ENT at UFH in Gainesville, where I get the rest of my healthcare, but I didn't want to make the drive. If you have to go to Ocala ENT, make sure to bring a blanket, especially on a hot day! read more

I had Dr. Grayson perform a septoplasty and bi terbinate reduction. After to first surgery he missed the deviation and said "I thought it was on the other side". He said he wouldn't charge me for the second surgery. He had another doctor look at my nose and gave him some advice of how to straighten the deviation. This other doctor put his fingers up my nose to feel where the problem was. So the second time around Dr. Grayson didn't follow the advise. When I told him the deviation was still there he got upset and said it was just swelling. I can look up my nose and still see it. Hasn't changed. I still can't breath through one nostril. The terbinate reduction however cleared my breathing through the other nostril considerably. But I was bill for two septoplasty's at $1,000.00 a peice. Had I known that Dr. Grayson was not capable of doing this procedure I would have gone else where. Or I wouldn't have done it at all. read more
