I'm not a graphic designer, so I was specifically looking for that human touch and guidance you would expect from working with a local print shop rather than simply ordering online. Unfortunately, I left feeling like I couldn't really be helped. I was told they don't print individual samples, so to see a card in a particular style I would need to order 100 cards for $100+. If I wanted raised printing or foil, I would also need to provide the files separately, and the only foil options available were silver or gold. There was only one person in the office when I came in, and I got the impression that they primarily handle the printing rather than helping with the actual design or setup. I was repeatedly encouraged to just place the order online, which was disappointing because the entire reason I came in person was to work with someone who could help me make sure everything looked right before spending $100+ on cards. I'm honestly pretty desperate to get this task off my plate, so this would have been a very easy sale. I was ready to move forward and pay for the service, but if I don't feel confident or comfortable with the process, it's hard to justify placing the order. It's unfortunate because so many things have gone completely digital now, and sometimes you just want to walk into a local business, talk to a person, and get a little hands-on help.

They are beyond extraordinary in every part of their process. I've had different orders printed through Laura and her team including : business cards, custom photos on canvas, a life-size custom print out for my birthday and most recently, (2) "welcome home" banners to welcome my newborn nephew home. The way that Apples &Oranges delivered my most recent order really impressed my family and I, and most importantly, my friend and her family (the person who the banners were printed for). My friend gave birth on a Monday and after I heard, I called Laura at 1:30PM to order a custom "Welcome Home Baby" banner to have an option for visitors to take a picture with instead of the baby (baby was born during the coronavirus). After calling Laura to discuss the order, a follow-up email was sent as a confirmation, then my order was finalized later that day to be ready by Wednesday. The next day (Tuesday), Laura called me at 2:30 PM (just 25 hours after my order was discussed) to let me know the banners were ready for pick-up!!! This is the fastest turn-around I've experienced for anything I've had printed that is this big and custom. The banners are very high quality - you can tell the material is durable so it can be hung outdoors and they look spectacular. Initially i was impressed with the service i was getting, had a nice chat with Elium. He agreed to prioritize the DTF print i needed. I was stoked, hoping i found a good vendor close, well it won't be these guys. I sent a 400dpi transparent PNG, ready to go! Looks like the white underprint pulled a bit causing a drip outside of the graphic. Called them about it not about the money but on principle after i was told so proudly who they do work for and was absolutely shocked at how the conversation played out. I got played for pennies. Basically he couldn't get passed the idea of it being on his end, cop-out statement. "I didn't create the file" so regardless of how the file was i sent this guy his arrogance was going to be in the way, he took zero responsibility for what was clearly a printer malfunction. You can see by the photo the inconsistent white underprint and the registration that is off, POOP. I had run a bulk of the project with a company overseas and was not happy due to some minor banding slight registration issues. At the end of the conversation, he said he could see where the problem really was. I don't want to make this into a bigger deal than it is but i'd look for other options because if they drop the ball you're eating it. Manilla Clothing does an amazing job and has awesome customer service with 24/7 pickup. I worth the extra little drive i guess.
