Cute little place. Cider wasn't spectacular but the plain hot donuts may be the best around!!!

This is a no-frills type of place. Have a nice pastor of land in front of the cider Mill shop, where you can have a little impromptu picnic with some donuts and cider. They have you go into one door and exit out another. They have two staff members running the cashier machine. The apple fritter isn't bad, worth a try. The plain and cinnamon donuts were not my favorite. The cinnamon was quite bad. The Plain doughnut was at least a little bit crunchy, but all of the donuts were frigidly cold. They were probably made today, but they weren't recently. They're Apple cider wasn't too bad.

This little hidden gem is a peaceful Haven. It has such a relaxing and calming feel to it. We spent hours there as our kids played. they have a little pumpkin patch, relaxing area and tractor rides on the weekends. they also have apples for picking, but not all were ready yet. Yummy donuts and cider. Impeccably clean indoor and out!

Located off of curry road, this cute orchard has a little Store that sells apples, pastries, donuts, wine and cider. They also have a yard full of very large pumpkins for sale and other things to look at plus a hayride if you choose to go on it. It didn't seem like a place that had lots of the attractions that some other orchids like to have, but they kept it pretty basic and it's a nice place to visit quickly to pick up a few things you would want for the fall.

Obstbaum's is my favorite metro-Detroit orchard. It is not a circus. If you are looking for an "entertainment complex", instead of a cider mill, this place is not for you! Obsbaum's has a few extras, pumpkins, you-pick (when the fields aren't too wet), hayrides, but what makes them great is the ease of getting in and out with the important stuff: apples, cider, donuts (maybe not in that order)! I love the that they carry so many varieties of apples, and now they offer hard cider and apple wine along with their delicious non-alcoholic cider. They continue to have fresh donuts and some other baked goods, but have dialed back on some savory items (no more empanadas). Service here is easy, even when it's full, just go in the back door and get in line. Cider is along the back wall of the main room, apples are off to the right side, and donuts and baked goods are at the front counter. Get your goods as you flow through, pay, and head out. When it's not too busy, there are some tables inside to enjoy cider and donuts. There are also some outside, or if the weather is right, you can lay back in the field at the front of the property. But you can just easily enjoy that cider and those donuts somewhere else ... on your leisurely Sunday drive, in front of your fireplace at home, or tailgating. The folks are knowledgeable. Service here is good and family-run. I have seen many of the same faces over the last decade. This is a tough business, but a Michigan country staple. These folks do it right without all the bells and whistles, and for that, I am grateful.

Explain how you have apples for sale but none to pick. Disappointed won't be back. Over harvested.

We really enjoyed visiting this quaint cider mill & winery. It was nice seeing the process of making the delicious donuts.

My only concern is that it can be hard to maneuver through the aisles when it is very crowded, plus you have staff working as well so things can get pretty tight but it's well worth it for all that savings and great finds you get. I'm always shocked by how little my cost is when I leave the register. The environment may not be for everyone but I think it's 100% worth checking out at least once if you're in the area.

She assured me that she would make the basket beautiful and that she did! When I came back a few days later to pick up the basket, I was blown away! She did an excellent job and add a few little extras that I wasn't expecting. My friend loved her basket! Great service wonderful quality meats, chicken, pork, seafood, and sausage sausages. Don't forget Joe's bakery as well. This has really become a one stop shop and I love it.

The summer greens and veggies are wholesome and still-dirty-from-the-field fresh; the winter gives a mix of storage roots and sturdy hoop-house produce. My favorites from the past year have been beets, kale, chard, romanesque (crazy fractal cauliflower), tomatoes, and cucumbers. There's definitely a Michigan cast to the selection; some months it's every bit as colorful as the Full Belly Farm box we got in Berkeley, some months it makes me think of Laura Ingalls Wilder's root cellar with a side of hoop-house lettuce. Everything's from right on the farm (unlike a "farm box" we once got that included bananas). A full share is about right for 3-4 people; we used to get a half share (a full portion each pickup, but only every other week), and we now split a full share with another couple. We haven't ended up with a freezer full of butternut squash (always a danger in Berkeley), but finishing the jalapeños while they're fresh sometimes takes planning. I usually pick up from the Friday morning Old West Side stop on Sunnyside (it's hosted in a customer's driveway); I occasionally get out to the farm itself for the Thursday afternoon distribution, which is just off Joy and makes a good dirt-road bike ride. Winter CSA in Michigan? I wasn't expecting to be impressed, but I am.

The kale is amazing, the spinach is huge, the freshness of everything is unmatched. I've never tasted lettuce like the lettuce I received last week, so fresh and full of flavor I've never known lettuce to have. This farm offers a year round CSA opportunity and we are anxious to experience every season with them. Signing up is super simple and prorated, so signing up now will get you a reduced rate since the weeks have now decreased. You can sign up and pay right on their website which is also full of loads of great information about their mission and how they grow the vegetables you are eating. They also follow all standards set by the National Organic Program and do not use any chemicals or substances that are not allowed under an organic certification, although they have decided not to become certified organic. You have to taste their veggies to really understand the freshness and the taste, it's unbelievably fresh. I believe when they say they strictly stick to the organic standards and am comforted to know that I am feeding my family fresh, healthy, chemical free food! I would definitely recommend a full share to anyone, even if you only have two people in your family. It's easy to go through your veggies in a week. CSA shares are structured as follows: Full Share- pick up every Thursday or Friday at your choice of two locations. Half Share- pick up every OTHER Thursday or Friday at your choice of the same two locations. We currently have a half share and I am going to try and upgrade. BEST CHOICE WE'VE MADE! Thank you SunSeed Farm.
