I love this local newspaper. They are very involved in the community and genuinely care about their consumers. As one of the highest employers in Washington county, they give back to that same community by hosting a lot of fun family events. read more

Want a strictly leftist paper? This is it. It makes up silly me to think a newspaper for the local area would be neutral or at least the middle of the road politically. This paper is 100% left leaning. There is no neutrality in the stories. Sad for people like me who are independent. But does anyone really read newspapers anymore? I think most people get their information online. I did enjoy getting this paper though... But when I read articles about situations that I had firsthand knowledge about because I was there... And the information was not accurate at all. That's when I canceled this newspaper. They make up crap. It's insane. Left leaning on politics and make up" facts" pertaining to local stories... No thank you read more

When we first started buying the Observer Reporter it had a great deal of articles on many subjects...it was a full several pages newspaper for 50 cents. Now we pay $2.00 for the Observer. Granted adding pictures of the deceased above their obituary is a very nice addition but when one obituary alone takes up an entire half of a page I seriously think that this newspaper is scratching to fill its few pages. After yesterday's paper that will be our last purchase. We will be giving our $2.00 to a worthwhile cause. read more

We have been getting the OR for years. So disappointing ever since Northrop's sold the paper. The paper has become a joke. With all the technology we have-to have so many mistakes, no paper, etc., it's a shame-especially for what they charge. If I could have picked "no stars" I would have. read more

Very sad what has happened to a great paper, no more police reports, Sunday (Saturday) paper is thinner than toilet paper, very little reporting sad sad sad. Remember with the new owner Nutting you get Nutting read more

Unable to leave zero stars - postal delivery has not worked in the reader's favor, paper is limited in scope and size.

My mom worked for the Observer for all of her working years. I have tried to support the paper for this reason. Ever since it was sold it has gone downhill. I get the digital edition which frequently crashes while I am trying to read it. They dropped the Sunday paper and now call the Saturday paper the Sunday paper. The digital edition doesn't come out till Sunday though. This last Sunday they forgot to put the Sunday comics on line. I recently received the below letter. I was paying $8.60 monthly and they increased the cost 233% to $20 monthly. I can get the Washington Post for less. I gave up and cancelled my subscription. I have had it. This is not the newspaper my mom sold display advertising for. read more

I pay for the paper and I am lucky to get it every other day. I tried calling them and get a message that it's after hours and to leave a message. Well it's not after hours because their customer service is supposed to be there during the week until 2 pm. No wonder the owner is a billionaire, he runs his newspapers like he does the Pirates. read more

We also would give this paper a zero if we could. This is the most slanted paper we have ever read. It is useless if you want the truth about the events that happen. Most of the time they don't even report many things that happen. We are so disgusted every time we open it. This is a sad substitute for the OR we read for most of our lives. The delivery service of this newspaper is absolutely awful! I have called too many times to count to report that I did not receive a paper. I finally gave up and cancelled my subscription today. They actually told me that I could cancel at the end of my monthly subscription in August. Seriously? I have not received a paper in more than a week and so I refused and insisted it be cancelled immediately. The customer service department, when they finally decide to answer the phone, is awful as well. Absolutely no concern about the terrible delivery problem they have. read more

We've been home delivery customers for over 15 years. Unfortunately, for the past 12 or so months, our delivery has been sporadic, at best. I have REPEATEDLY CALLED the customer service department informing them of not receiving our paper. But, I either get no answer or Service Rep. assures me they will adjust my bill for not getting the delivery. But, on occasion, one of the delivery supervisors will come out and deliver the paper. Please, tell me why you continue to treat your customers, especially long term customers like us treated with such indifference? I' ve left messages informing the Service Department, I'm handicapped and not able to get out n get a paper. I'm not asking for any special treatment, just for your company to honor its contract/ commitments to us. I don't think that's too much to ask. Barry L.
