When I go to any new place or town, I make it a priority to check out the local used bookstores. This bookstore was one of the most unique and special ones I've ever come across. The selection of rare and old books was above and beyond anything I've seen in any other store before. I don't know if I'll ever see a store with this unique kind of vibe again. The owner was a very nice person as well, and if I ever find myself back in Alaska, I will definitely be back. This is a must visit bookstore. read more

Walking into this bookstore feels like walking into another dimension -- picture Ollivander's wand shop from Harry Potter but with books instead of wands! The owner is so kind and gave me a ton of great book suggestions. I had such a great experience that I had to come back the next day to show the place to my mother and buy some more books! Also the prices are unbeatable and there is a huge selection of literature. I seriously cannot recommend this store enough!! read more

Quirky doesn't even begin to explain this place. Neither does qUiRkY. This place is great, and has the perfect name. The place is like a tiny book basement. The walls are entirely old, unique, and rare books. There are excellent hand-made signs all over the place. They range from intelligent to humorous to flat-out weird. Prices are great, and sometimes random. You have to experience this place for yourself, stop reading my review and just GO. read more

Eclectic, Friendly and Awesome are 3 words that describes this place. Owner is super smart and informative and seems to have some odd and hard to find books within arms reach. The owner is amazing and the store looks like something out of a Harry Potter novel, complete with crazy staircase and old maps and coins. This place is a treasure trove. It's a little musty/dusty but so fun and cool to look around. I love wandering around this book shop and the owner has always been helpful too. He has so many books and will work with you for some deals. Cool guy and awesome shop! read more

I bought a book from this store online. When it arrived, I realized the book I ordered wasn't the illustrated edition I had hoped to get. They agreed to give me a refund for the sales price anyway, even though it was MY mistake, which I thought was more than reasonable. Not only that, but they wrapped the book in an old Arts section of the Anchorage Daily News, which I really enjoyed reading. These folks have a lot of class! read more
