Truth be told, when it comes down to Bauhaus (the band) versus Bauhaus (the store), I much prefer…read morethe former. This paints me as a stereotypical female, but home improvement stores are just so... boring. But I've been at Bauhaus a few times recently, in order to help the boyfriend pick out household-y things. Among the purchases have been a new toilet paper holder and a new shower head. And like the thoughtful guy he is, he always asks me to weigh in on how I feel about things. And like the disinterested lady I am, I always respond with "es ist mir egal." Because really, I don't care that much. Not about home improvement items, not about practical around-the-house needs, not about project materials. Places like Bauhaus are not only overwhelming (I can never find what I need, and never know where to look), but they're not bright and exciting. They don't beckon me to get lost in the aisles. All of this aside, it is a practical store, which strikes me as particularly German. And although trips to Bauhaus don't top my list of most interesting things to do, I realize the necessity of them, and I'm grateful there is a place relatively close by that has the things we need. So, Bauhaus, you're alright. You're like the lukewarm acquaintance that I run into every once in awhile around town. I may not miss you when we're apart, but when we do encounter one another, it's A-OK.

After selling me the wrong color floor stain, which lead to me having to resand my floor (lots more…read moremoney to do this) I went to buy a new stain. I asked to see the stain before I purchased it but they refused, got very angry at me, stormed out of the room, and behaved as if I was asking for something ridiculous. I never asked for a refund or compensation, just to have assurance that I would be sold the correct color this time. Very mean and I regret wasting so much money there
