Drive about 10 minutes outside…read moreBerchtesgaden, up some switchback roads into the mountians, turn right at some small town barley on the map, then left, then another right at the mill yard, drive through the mill yard, up another narrow street, left at the red sign, left at the giant rock (mind the pooping dog sign), and you'll have arrived.
Half the fun of this place was just getting there. Once you arrive though it's totally worth it. The views from this place were some of the best I had in Germany, looking out over the valley below and to the mountains beyond.
The rooms were nicely furnished if not a little dated. Nothing really to complain about.
Breakfast here was great. We (myself and 5 others) were given a nice little nook in the corner. Unfortunately we stayed here on off days and were not able to eat at the restaurant.
I would love to come back in the winter, although I have no idea how you'd get up those hills if they were covered in snow.
