I'm seeing this practice again for my second child, and I have not had any of the issues the other reviewers seem to have had. This office is very clear in their email/online instructions about arriving early, cancellations, etc. It's easy to schedule appointments. They're not very pushy doctors, but they do have their conventional ways of medical practice, but you can request otherwise and they will oblige. It's nice having a rotation of doctors and they deliver at Madison hospital. I have only seen these doctors for OB purposes and majority of those I've met are very polite, respectful of your wishes, and listen to you. The appointments can be short and seem 'rushed' at certain times (there are many appointments during your pregnancy), but people really need to understand medical and insurance practices and why they're done this way. I recommend them for pregnancy care and routine gynecological care if you desire that. Only "issue" I have had was with billing but that was mainly the fault of my insurance. All is well, which is why I'm seeing this practice again for my second child and I trust them as medical professionals. read more

Don't get caught in traffic ladies or your baby may be in jeopardy... Update: I just made an appointment on a different date at 8AM, and they said to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out the same paperwork. So apparently the paperwork takes 15 minutes less to fill out before 8AM, if that helps anyone. Edit 2: They have charged us $50 for the missed visit. The hots keep on coming. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. OBGYN Associates failed me in one of the most vulnerable times of my life. Dr. Purvis completely dismissed my very real symptoms of Hyperemesis Gravidarum, telling me it was "all in my head" and suggesting I had mental health issues instead of taking me seriously. Meanwhile, I ended up in the hospital three times in just two weeks for severe dehydration and received a proper diagnosis from a specialist in Birmingham who confirmed it was indeed real. Rather than acknowledging their mistake, today they fired me as a patient. The lack of compassion, accountability, and basic medical responsibility is appalling. No patient deserves to be treated this way, especially during pregnancy. Please think twice before trusting this practice with your care. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. They are scamming women. I was a new patient and my appointment was at 10 so I arrived at exactly 9:30, got in the building and waited in line. They were extremely overcrowded. When I finally got to the front it was 9:40 and the lady at the front desk was very nice but told me she had to ask if I could be seen since I was supposed to be there at 9:30 and I was "late". If you wanted me to be there at 9:30 then why is my appointment at 10? I understand I have to fill out paperwork but that doesn't take 30 mins???? So in the time it would have taken me to fill out paperwork I waited about 15 mins and she never came back to tell me if I could be seen or not so I just left. The next day I get a text from them saying I owe $100 for a no show. At this point you are stealing from people. This is my fault I read the reviews and went anyway. Highly recommended reading the reviews because it's true this place is the worst and they couldn't care less about their patients! read more

What a disappointment! I wouldn't send a pet bunny to this place. I waited 3 months to get an appointment with Dr. Acuff after my oncologist sent a referral to her. When they called to schedule the appointment, the person told me to arrive 15 minutes early. I was scheduled a week prior for a phone call with the nurse. The nurse was 20 minutes late calling me. We had been on the phone for less than 10 minutes, and she said she would have to call me back because she had to "reboot" the system. Well she never called me again. The day before my appointment the reminder said arrive 30 minutes early which was not what I was originally told. So, I arrive 20 minutes early to my appointment. The receptionist said she would have to see if we need to re-schedule since I wasn't 30 minutes early. She goes to the back and returns to tell me we would have to reschedule. I told her not to bother and that I would not be back. Now they are sending me a bill for a late cancellation? WHAT??? Furthermore, I am a health care provider in this area. I will share my experience with anyone that crosses my path and mentions this agency. read more

Showed up for my 9:30 appointment at 9:25 and they turned me away. They said I was supposed to be there at 9:00 even though all of the emails and reminder texts say "see you at 9:30" "confirm your appointment at 9:30" etc. No one said to show up at 9:00. I had done paperwork online the day before and I was not a new patient. It was my very first appointment for my first pregnancy at 8 weeks. When I first went to the desk to check in she said someone messed up because the ultrasound was scheduled second and the appointment was scheduled first. I sat down while she tried to fix it and when she called me back up she said they couldn't see me. They didn't apologize or seem to care. Very frustrating. read more

I made an appointment with this practice on May 10, at which time I provided all my insurance & health information. I made my June 14th appointment when I was 24 weeks pregnant. I am now 28 weeks and in a high risk pregnancy. I received a call this morning that they would not take me because I am covered by the VA. We are 3 business days away from what was supposed to be my growth ultrasound and establishment of care in Alabama. I moved from out of state last week and so can not go back to my previous doctor. This practice knew when I called on May 10 that I am a veteran, and that this pregnancy would be covered by the VA. That was the time to say they wouldn't accept me. Not 3 business days prior to my appointment, to leave me scrambling for appropriate prenatal care in a brand new state. This is not only poor business practice, but shows a disregard for the most at-risk patients. This practice was recommended to me. I will recommend against it whenever I am in the position to do so. read more

I have to agree with the reviews below. This business is extremely unprofessional and absolutely does not care about their patients. I have been warning people about how horrible this place is since my first appointment here. I absolutely would never recommend this office to anyone on the planet! By FAR the worst dr. Office I have ever experienced in my life. I promise, if you want a doctor who really cares about you and looks into your issue or makes sure you are seen, then this is NOT the place for you. They are rude, argumentative if you question them, and they are completely dismissive. Any concerns you have will be met with "oh that's fine" even if it is 100% NOT. They pretend to know everything and never research or look into anything at all, telling you any issue is completely alright. Hello everyone . I am writing this review to sincerely save anyone who is potentially thinking about attending this OBGYN clinic . I started going here as a Medicare patient during my pregnancy. Due to unforeseen circumstances I ended up having to deliver my baby not by my original physician but instead Dr.Clem. After receiving my C-Section , I ended up having sever blood clots that were traveling in my system so she implied she would need to back in to my c-section. Dr. Clem went back to perform about 3 procedures on my wound following delivery. For a month just about I stayed home having to have a at home nurse help. I attended my follow up appointments other than some I had to miss due to unforeseen circumstances, but I was always a nice patient who showed respected and shared laughter every time I attended a visit . Following my procedures and at home care I was told by Dr.Clem that I didn't need to follow up as much as I was and to check in after my closing . I go in for my scheduled appointment that I made over the phone and was told to be seated . Then rudely I was called back to the desk and was told loudly and disrespectfully I'm front of other patients " Why are you here ", The Dr. says she doesn't need to see you . Now I was told that by the front desk receptionist . Remind you I'm a patient and one that is never how someone in the healthcare field or just being human should talk to anyone. I simply explained the reason for my concern for my appointment which also I felt was a breach and was very humiliating and embarrassing that as a patient in front of other families I'm having to explain my symptoms loudly . I was then told that my insurance would not cover my appointment so I could not be seen. I was not told with respect or with the option to pay out of pocket , I was told with a belittling voice that since I had "Medicare " I couldn't be seen. Shortly after explaining I have full benefits , I was then told "oh you can be seen " never not even receiving a apology. To fast forward , I walk back to Dr. Clem nurse who then seats me in a room and immediately says with a very nasty attitude , not welcoming one bit " So why are you here", I proceeded to explain the discomfort I felt from the level of care I was receiving there and how I did not feel comfortable with how I was being treated . I was then told , oh well you've had no shows so we don't see a point and we don't have to see you: I look at my no show appointments and a lot of them were scheduled the week I delivered my baby. So how can you accumulate a no - show when you are in the hospital . After still trying to speak with intelligence and respect the nurse begin to over talk me and the physician showed no concern during my appointment what so ever . She looked at my wound for one minute and said oh well I don't see anything and walked out of my appointment : did not close my appointment with advice , care or anything . I could go on about the level of disrespect I received at this clinic , but if you attend in due time you will see . Do your research and find a physician and a clinic who is patient , understanding and caring . Unfortunately I attended my appointment during this Covid -19 and you would really think with everything going on in the world you would find peace in the people we look to as our heroes but sadly some of them are the main ones spreading hatred . I'm not sure if I was profiled because I was African American and I wasn't dressed up due to it being a slow day for me but the way I was talked too , I wouldn't want anyone to attend there.
