If I could leave a zero star, I would. We are expecting our first baby and decided to go with Miss Sylvester. But around 23 weeks, I get a message that she is retiring before I deliver and that I must seek a new OB. And most good OB do not accept new patients after 24 weeks. Was not told about this in person did not get a call, informing me or anything like that. I know things happen so I get that. But we paid in full for the entire service. And I was told that I would be getting a refund within 30 days. That has been almost 2 months ago now. And they keep evading me over and over. And they never called me back when they say they will. And I would not care, but this is a large sum of money. I would not recommend going here for anything. read more

I had to ask her if she was the doc because we sat in silence for an inappropriate amount of time. She was dry with a nonchalant personality towards everything. Issues with everything. They can't keep their files together. They don't know how to schedule people. Constantly calling for updates on birth control, I was supposed to get replaced A YEAR AGO!!! All that money and paperwork I gave them for the new birth control? Gone. No such records in their system. Dissapeared, apparently, and they had the audacity to try and turn it on me. The absolute worst run office! The only thing that went smoothly was my first appointment and prescription filling. 1. The nurse staff has 0 knowledge on how NuvaRing works. I got laughed at for asking questions about it. I got more info googling than with the nurses. 2. A year later ~ nov 2020, I called the nurses line to ask question. I left numerous messages and got no call back or any response from anyone at the office 3. Called numerous times in Jan 2021 to make an appointment. NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE. Left voicemails that I needed an appointment but ABSOLUTELY NO REPLY TO THE VOICEMAILS. 4. After reading some good reviews for this doctor on some Facebook groups, I decided to call again and this time someone picked up and made an appointment for me. I wrote it down on my calendar for 10am. When I get there they tell me it's at 12pm. ABSOLUTELY NO CALL/TEXT REMINDERS TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT. The staff tells me they'll try squeezing me in. Waited 45 mins for them to come back and tell me they need to reschedule. MISSED 2 hours of work for absolutely the worst service. read more

I found Dr. Sylvester when I first moved to the area. I liked that she had evening hours available and was a female. The first visit with her was a consultation about possible fertility issues, the doctor came in spent a few minutes with me and prescribed me some meds for my issues. I left with more questions than answers; there was no exam done or tests taken before just giving me a prescription. The front office staff was nice but pretty disorganized. Months later I had to go back for a refill, the office canceled on me due to parking issues with the Madison parade. I was fine with that. Due to some life issues, I had to postpone the reschedule longer than expected. I was told I could have the refill filled prior to my rescheduled appointment since it was their cancellation, when I attempted to get this refill the LPN I spoke with berated me and told me since I had canceled my last appointment I couldn't get the refill prior too. When I explained that the cancellation was due to them and the parade she became extremely hostile with me and then proceeded to interrogate me as to why I had delayed my reschedule so long. I did not get the refill. At my rescheduled appointment, I also had my annual exam as well as the refill. During this appointment, I had hoped to discuss a medical issue (like you're supposed to do during an annual exam). I waited over 2 hours to be seen by the doctor, I was left in the room in a exam gown during the entire 2 hours I waited. No one checked on me or told me anything during this time. Then when the dr came in she spent all of 10 minutes with me, she barely even looked at me and when I attempted to discuss my problem with her she rolled her eyes at me and asked me why I thought I was having the issue I was having!! When I told her that I had been researching the issue, she said "oh so you've been asking dr. Google?" In a Extremely condescending manner. She almost seemed appalled by my questions. My exam itself was extremely rough and it took less than a minute to complete. I left the office that night in tears from this treatment. A few weeks later I received 2 bills for the same exact exam, 1 for the annual and 1 for "discussion of period issues." Both had multiple charges associated with them. Needless to say, that was my last visit with Babies Etc and I have found a new OB. The new OB investigated my concerns that I attempted to discuss with dr. Sylvester and found them to be true. I was immediately treated and it solved my fertility issues without the medication I was prescribed by Sylvester. I'm now 22 weeks pregnant. Ladies, if you are looking for an OB this is not the one for you. Steer clear of this office and be your own advocate. read more

The office is clean and thr front desk ladies are nice. I only had to wait about 10 minutes past my scheduled appointment time and the rest of the visit was pretty quick. I've been to lots of Ob/Gyn's over the years and I always go to a female doctor because that makes me more comfortable so imagine my surprise when I see that they have a male medical assistant. Although he was friendly and professional, I felt uncomfortable with him taking my weight and asking me questions about my menstrual cycle and such. Also, I didn't like that you have to sign a paper that states you will be charged extra for wanting to discuss any concerns you have outside of the basic exam. Dr. Sylvester was nice but made no attempt at small talk which most Ob/Gyn's do to put you at ease during the exam. But she was professional. Since I'm a healthy, non-pregnant lady who just needs a basic exam every year, I'll probably return. read more

This has been the only office I've used. I normally love the doctor and staff, but today that changed. I brought my service dog with my for my yearly exam and I was told at the door the dog can't come in. I explained that she was a service dog and went back to my car to wait. I was called and asked about my service dog and the tasks she performs. Melinda got off the phone to talk to the doctor and then called me back again. She asked several inappropriate and illegal questions regarding my dog and disability, asking me why I needed a service dog, if she had been bathed in the last 2 days, and more before I told her I no longer felt welcome here and cancelled my appointment. It's disheartening to keep explaining yourself to medical personnel who don't know anything about service dogs or the ADA laws. I will be filing a complaint with the ADA as well for this office. read more

I chose to go to dr. Sylvester because I was already in my second trimester and she and her staff were very helpful. They also worked with me on making payments towards paying of my balance with them. She and her staff were very kind and sympathetic towards me after my pregnancy ended in stillbirth. Doctor Sylvester also did a good job in explaining what might result from me doing natural birth vs cesarean section. I would completely recommend going to her office and if I have any future pregnancy I'll go back myself. read more

I have had really poor customer service both times I have gone here. This time, I was initially told I didn't have an appointment even though I had made the appointment over a year before and still had the card they gave me with my appointment date and time on it. Luckily they did see me the same day but it was not without waiting about 45 minutes in the waiting room and then another 30 minutes or so in the exam room. I also had a billing issue. I had changed my health insurance and that was the first thing I mentioned when I walked in the door. One of the ladies there did come and take my new insurance card and I assume that was to make a copy of it to update my records. I also mentioned it going out the door after my appointment. I got my health insurance statement about a week later and it had been billed to my old health insurance plan, not the new one. I called and was told it would be re-submitted to the correct plan and they would call me when they did that. I never received a call but am able to see that it did eventually get billed correctly. I had a different billing issue here last year as well. I'll be looking for a new provider for the coming year. read more

Babies Etc is the best Obgyn facility in the Madison/Huntsville Alabama area. Dr. Sylvester is the best and I totally understand why she was the head/chief of the Ob department at Crestwood Hospital. When I was pregnant with my first child in 2012,she detected something abnormal in my first ultrasound. My son was born with the transposition of great arteries. Most doctors NEVER figure it out until after the baby is born and she caught it so early which allowed me to take the proper steps to ensure his wellbeing. I knew once I found out I was pregnant with my second child, she was exactly who I wanted to deliver my child and once again I was not disappointed. Her and her staff took such great care of me from beginning to the end and I would recommend Jacqueline Sylvester to every pregnant person looking for a provider. read more

I'm 11 weeks with my first child. I have seen Dr. Sylvester for over two years and didn't have any problems prior to the pregnancy. However, I have had significant issues since then. I'm not anti-medicine, surgery, etc. but always felt condemned for wanting a natural childbirth by her. Additionally, her billing staff are disorganized, unprofessional, and I had charges on my account for services I did not yet receive. When I tried to address this, the billing manager became hostile and canceled my appointment that I had been waiting already an hour for. I think they are a great place if all you want is an annual, but not for delivering children. I just recently transferred to another doctor and will not be returning. Also, they do not know how to work with HRAs (health reimbursable accounts) if that is important to you. I don't mean this as a slight, but I think they work with mostly Medicaid customers so I felt they did not understand how to work with BCBS insurance. The receptionist even suggested that I should apply for Medicaid if I am eligible to avoid paying my deductible. Finally, the ultimate reason why I decided to transfer to another doctor was that the appointments were very short and she didn't seem to have time to fully answer questions or explain her reasoning for prescriptions (in my case, antibiotics during pregnancy). read more
