When looking for a place to stay the night, we stopped at the Waldhorn and were greeted by a very…read morenice woman, whom we later found to be the owner, Frau Poppenberg. She showed us to a very spacious room and graciously made ​​sure we were comfortable. We went to dinner in the restaurant and were pleased. The salads were very fresh and our main dishes were very tasty. Dinner ended with a scrumptious treat from their confection selection. Frau Poppenberg's son is a masterful confectioner and we highly recommend the champagne and cognac truffles. They also have a beautiful selection of cakes to choose from. Breakfast the next morning was a bountiful treat - hot rolls, a plate full of meats and hard boiled eggs. The whole time we were there we felt very pampered and it felt as if we were at home with Mama seeing to our every need. We decided to stay another night to hike and explore the many trails and local sights. We will be visiting again!
