Was on a road trip coming from Dallas, going to Marfa and Big bend. LR tire blew out just 10 miles from Alpine, was not planning to stop here and needed to be in Marfa by the nighttime. The employees of Bill Williams tire co. not only diagnosed the issue promptly, determining that it blew out due to my tires unknowingly having been the incorrect size, but also accommodated me after their closing time of 5 PM to install and balance 2 new rear tires. Their act of kindness saved me from an unplanned stay in Alpine and additional costs. I may have just gotten lucky, and I assume this is a rare occurrence that only happens whenif the sympathetic employees deem the situation urgent, so don't expect the same accommodation as it's a rare occurrence to be serviced after hours in this manner by ANYONEanyone. Overall, I was able to get to my destinations on time with little delay. Though their services are pricier--$335 for two tires, installation, and balance--compared to Dallas (about $200), I appreciated the excellent service, speed, and quality of work. They had my correct tire size (215/60R16) in stock, unlike other local shops. For those in Alpine, they are the only place with an alignment machine, which costs $125 per service. If I lived in Alpine, Bill Williams would be my go-to tire shop. Their willingness to help in a pinch and provide top-notch service is commendable. I'm from Oklahoma and have been coming to Big Bend for years. I went off-roading in the National Park and must've punctured the tire; not enough to make it go flat immediately, but enough that the tire started slowly deflating. I travelled north to Alpine, TX and went to Oasis. I figured since they knew I'm a tourist they would charge me triple the cost of locals. That was not the case. They got me in immediately and patched it up and only charged me 18 dollars. The manager was super nice and they have a cool little shop dog that gave me company while I waited. This hands-on family owned business (three members of the Welch family were on scene during my visit) is outstanding and I highly recommend it. I was hundreds of miles from home last week when I noticed a tire failing just south of Alpine and managed to limp my truck to Oasis, aptly named under the circumstances. The Welches, competent, friendly and understanding, took care of me like I was family. Even faced with the complication of a lost locking lug nut key, my tire was repaired at a fair price and I was back on the road in under an hour. They literally saved my vacation and it was a treat to meet them as well as do business with them. Many, many thanks! Note: THIS BUSINESS HAS NEW OWNERS AS OF LATE 2020! Went in to get my tire changed. Upon getting back to Terlingua (2 hours away), I discovered that: 1. My spare tire was not re-attached properly to the back of my Land Rover, meaning it dragged underneath and could have caused a major accident if came loose. 2. I found my $4,000 Macbook Pro laptop was smashed while still inside it's bag. I knew 100% that it was them because I was on my laptop just before leaving to go there and it was still in it's new condition. They must have taken it out of the back to re-attach the spare, and thrown it on the ground, causing huge damage. I am not annoyed they broke my laptop. I am a business owner and understand that staff can sometimes screw up. We are all human and mistakes happen. That is why every business has liability insurance. If it were my business, the right thing to do, would apologise, call up the insurance company and deal with it, and move on. Instead, I got rude people on the phone who denied to even entertain my quest for a resolution. To Management: When a customer drives in with a $100,000 Range Rover for a $250 tire change, do you think he is looking to scam or blame you for a $500 repair on a laptop? Your approach is unprofessional and you should either deal with your bad customer service, or do not be in business. Not only will I now file a court claim and involve my attorney (which will cost you a lot more than a phone call to your insurance company), but I will make sure that everyone I know who goes to Terlingua on vacation (many people in my circle of friends) knows to avoid your business. We had a flat outside of Del Rio on our truck as we were pulling our fifth wheel. We changed the tire ourselves but were afraid to travel on our spare so we needed the original tire repaired. As we pulled into Alpine we saw Oasis Tires and pulled in. Three guys assisted us to get the tire off, the original one repaired and put back on the truck and all for $18! What? Only 5 stars? How can I rate these kind folks ONLY 5 stars when they clearly deserve 100 or more! We were in Big Bend for Thanksgiving and had not one but 2 trailer tires blowout! Had to unload the trailer and limp it in to Alpine on a Sunday trying to head back to San Antonio. I stopper to fuel up the Jeeps and Truck preparing for a long drive back to SA. While fueling up we saw Oasis next door and they were clearly closed, but we walked over and knocked on the door and to our surprise...someone answered!!! A kind gentleman named Morton who was only there (trying to repair a tire balancer) said let's fix ya up! He had the tires in stock, got us all fixed up and allowed us to make the trek back to SA! Now it may not seem like a huge deal to some but he could have just kept on quietly working alone in silence and we'd have left and limped home; but this kind and down to earth guy just did what what in his nature and a core value. These guys are a real Oasis in todays world of big box store non existent customer service- If you EVER need something and are in the Alpine area...this is your go to shop. Even if you don't need something- stop in say Hi to Morton! We plan to pay it forward a bit and do our good deed for someone down the road and give Morton all the credit he deserves! Had a vehicle inspection done on my 01 F-350 7.3L DIESEL and failed for a catalytic converter that was NEVER on the vehicle. 4hrs later and due to the inept inspector and business owner my entire day was wasted with even more inept Texas bearcats instead of the inspector reading the criteria for this he failed it that means the dozens of F-350 7.3 he didn't do his job and look at the exhaust they would have seen NO CAT. Would give negative stars if I was allowed. No matter the cost I will never spend another cent at this business. read more

Sold me four tires for my van, and told me there was a warranty. I didn't check the paperwork at the time, just stored it away fro safe keeping. A few months later one of the tires goes bad. I look at the receipts but there's no mention of a warranty. The owner refused to give me the warranty number. I had to go and by two new tires at another shop. In the end, I paid over $800 for four cheap tires (including getting the two replaced at Discount Tire). He may have impressed some folks on here but he has shown himself to be a liar at worst, ignorant of his customers needs at the very best. Avoid! read more

We were RVing at Big Bend National Park, about 120 miles from Alpine when our tire valve ruptured. Our tire was as flat as it could be. We got a recommendation from a local shop (67 miles away) to work with Oasis Tire. Our Good Sam Roadside service contacted Oasis to help with swaping out our dually tire. They left Alpine promply in the morning and were with us 2 hours later... very prompt considering our location. Our Oasis man was Jorge who was very professional, polite and very well skilled with all the tools. Despite high 90's weather, frozen screws and bolts on the spare tire rack, Jorge overcame all the hurtles. We were greatful for Jorges excellant work and great character. New owner Eric Welch took a personal interest in an unusual brake problem with my 2015 Titan. His mechanic Alex did a lot of troubleshooting to determine the cause of no brake fluid getting to the rear brakes. Although they were unable to make the repair, Eric sent me to the right person in town (Buddy), who was able to scan and get the error code. Both advised that it should be fixed by our dealer. I went to simply have my tires changed. after a couple hours upon return after leaving the truck I find the office did not communicate to the shop what service was to be done....change the tires...what I witnessed was a very poorly run operation where no one seemed to be in charge. office dogs gain more attention than the customer. i sat listened and witnessed the repairman working on my truck as he banging on it trying to replace a sheared lug bolt....now the truck rumbles....no use returning as I don't believe they have the trained repairmen capable of doing even the basic repairs with regard to wheel service. read more

They didn't have the tire I needed, but rather than wait for their regular delivery, they drove for hours just to pick up the one I needed! Then they stayed open on their day off to install the tire. I've been doing business with Morton and Wilma since they had the auto repair shop next to the Amigo's Convenience store I managed in 2001. They have always been courteous, fair and trustworthy, in the intervening 14 years, I've probably bought a dozen or more tires from them and had more repaired than I can count as well as balancing and wheel alignments on four or five vehicles and have yet to have a problem from their work. I wouldn't even consider buying a tire from anyone else unless I was just too far away from Alpine in an emergency situation. One point I feel I should make, I have a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria that I've been driving for four years and a bit over 40,000 miles on the last set of tires I bought from them and those are some awesome stats for a set of tires. If you're anywhere near Alpine and need tires or tire repair, you owe it to yourself and your family to drop by and talk to Wilma or Morton, you won't be disappointed. read more

Got a flat out in the desert while traveling and these guy fixed it super fast. Very nice, fast, and cheap. Closed on Sunday and only open till noon on Saturday but have to say I was very pleased they did not pressure me to buy a new tire like a lot of places do. Highly recommended. read more

Oasis Tire is simply the best. Super nice, and you know you are in good hands with them.

First the good part: They are probably the most reasonably priced automotive repair shop in Alpine. The bad part: The customer is not ever right here. If you have a problem, watch out. They are notorious for over-tightening wheel lug nuts. I have had to replace many lug nuts, several brake rotors, and spend hours trying to get the nuts loose after having work done by Oasis. I have also gotten a defective tire from them that they refused to admit was defective. They have refused to repair damage they did to my vehicles while they had them in for service of other things. I have had enough, and even though there is no other place that does some of the work that they do within a couple of hours drive, I will no longer do any business with Oasis. read more

My travel trailer blew a tire on Interstate 20 over Memorial Day weekend. We found this place in nearby Alpine that had the right tire for my trailer. Very courteous and fast service. The little pug dogs wandering around the front lobby served as friendly customer service representatives, making us feel welcome. Before leaving town, in our motorhome... I Had already checked the tire pressure but, one needed air. Stopped at Oasis Tire and their mechanic checked all six tires and applied pressure to the ONE tire. He quickly checked the tires on my wife's car, all OK. Oasis charged me $12.00 !!!! for this service? I have never been charged for air. In fact Discount Tire all across Texas encourages you to stop for FREE Air Check. Big sign over the bays. So does Sears. I usually tip the man putting air in my tires. Didn't happen this time. I don't mind reasonable charges for service, but this was ridicules. $12.00 ...... WOW! Come on Man! Don't use this operation unless you plan on getting screwed. We cross the paths of many RV drivers and this true story will be repeated many many many times about Oasis Tires in Alpine, Texas. We were on our way to Alpine for the Cowboy Poetry Gathering and had a blowout on a 5th wheel trailer tire coming into Del Rio. We put our spare on and began looking for tire options in Alpine. Oasis Tire seemed to be the only place, so we called. This was on a Thursday, and the next tire delivery would be Monday around noon. We were scheduled to leave Monday morning, but had no choice but to wait. The truck arrived at 10:45, and we were gone by noon. Morton was friendly and reassuring during the wait, and the service people were efficient and capable. The price was about what we would have paid at home. OUT OF TOWNERS BEWARE!! My initial contact with the owner, Martin, was positive and he ordered parts to replace my rear brake rotors and pads - when I came for my appointment, I asked a customary and standard question (any place I've done business before!) "What is the Warranty on the parts?" He stated he didn't know and appeared increasingly angry about my inquiry - he phoned NAPA (parts place) and told me it was 12 months/12,000 miles but "there was no written warranty" for the parts. I explained (again!) that I was from out of town and wondered how to ensure an effecitive warranty. Martin became more irate and said he decided "not to do the job" on my vehicle and "I have enough business." His conduct was quite UNprofessional and I urge out of town persons in need of tires or brake work to look elsewhere. read more

I have been using this place for years and the service has always been lousy. They have a horrible reputation all over the area, with many horror stories. Their business model is: we're the only place in town, deal with it. Their prices are good, but everything else is terrible. I requested load range E tires and an aliment, they installed range D's and told me to come back in 5 hrs for the alignment. There alignment guy chipped my wheels in several places while attempting to setup the machine. When I asked them to put on the load range E tires I had requested twice, they told me that they were $60 more each, and were not willing to compromise. I had them put my old tires back on and we left. My family and I wasted three hours there, with nothing to show for it except chipped alloy wheels. This place has the potential to be great , if managed properly. But all you get now is Low Quality, Dishonest, Rude service I will not go there again, and I advise anyone else to avoid them at all costs. read more

Had a punctured tire my Dodge dually. Dealt with some old gray haired guy that was a total jerk and acted like he was doing me a huge favor to fix my tire. I had the tire off the truck and they said might get to it sometime today. Been waiting over an hour for a ten minute puncture repair. On my way now to pick the tire up and take it somewhere else.
