And nowhere has evinced the benefits of a high-tax society more than this dentists on Earl's Court's rather down-at-heel North End Road. I paid nothing for my first consultation and then only £15 for an operation on two of my molars. £15! I couldn't believe it. Service was friendly, both from the young and chatty dentist himself and from the receptionist who rang me on the morning of my appointments to remind me. Excellent all round.

However recently I turned up for an appointment and met my new dentist for the first time. When I walked in I could not work out if he was the dentist at first because he wasn't dressed in the usual dentist attire. I also found him accusing, abrupt and rather rude. I however respect that he knows what he is doing when it comes to the care of teeth etc, but don't respect his manner. I also think that had I been a middle class Caucasian woman/man his manner and tone would have been entirely different.

The receptionists there are clearly well trained, pleasant and always act professionally. I've had the same dentist for the 3 years, and again always had a pleasant and professional experience with him, he seems well experience and work very efficiently. Going to the dentist is never much fun, but this is by far the best NHS surgery I have ever been to.

I…read morejust thought I'd say how nice and friendly the team were and what a good job the dentist did. He was a really nice man and was really gentle with me (as I explained how nervous I was). I also asked him about teeth whitening as I wasn't sure whether it was for me and he explained exactly what the process involves and whether it would be good for me. I decided to book in and am going back next week! Would really recommend them if you're looking for a dentist you can trust and that won't charge you the earth - especially in London! They have wireless internet access in the waiting area as well - very handy!
