Food service is terrible to non-existent. Published meal times are ignored by staff, and I have given up and left on occasions, and been turned away, told that they have run out of food , or handed my meal in a carry out box. Most of the residents are significantly disabled, impaired, and barely independent. Carry out and room delivery services are allegedly available if one can reach somebody to take one's order. The one exercise class I attended directed by Monica was good. The movies I have tried to watch in their theater were abominations, but the chairs are comfortable. My conclusion; keep looking.

I had no time to investigate these places to make a more informed decision. It may look nice, but the nurses and care are subpar. My mother had a bad attack during the night and begged to go to a hospital, and they told her she didn't need a hospital. How do they know? No doctor there! When she (my mother) finally was able, she called me in the middle of the night and told me what happened to her and I was livid. After feeling that my mother was stable, I told her that I would call there and find out what was going on. I rang every phone number that I had for hours. The next morning, I went in and asked why in the h**l no one answers the phone all night they said no one is by the phones all night. I asked what if it's an emergency and they just blew me off. I said I want the doctors name that is in charge of my mother's care and they said that they weren't sure who it was because the doctor is new and they had no number. I said you don't know who the doctor is and they have no office number and they said they don't know it. It was also during covid, and it was running rampant in there. Every day on the door, that is where they put the count for the building, the count was growing higher. One reason was because the nurses were taking care of all the patients instead of having certain nurses working with just the covid patients as to not infect other patients. My mother couldn't always remember to wear a mask even though I reminded her, so I told the nurses make sure she is not going to rehab without one on. She said they just forget sometimes. I told her no, there is no forgetting. You have to go back to the room to get it than before continuing. So, I wanted to have her released but they said no I had to wait until 30 days was up for the insurance. They said if I tried to take her out sooner that they would report me to the insurance and we would be responsible for the last 30 days. So, On the 30th day I sent a medical van to pick her up and bring her home as she was getting quite ill at this time and as a family, we wanted her to pass at home with her family around. This place said you better have a home health care set up or we will report you. I told them are you people insane. I would never have my mom come home without the proper care. They said who are they we are going to call them. I told them who we had coming out, and they could call whoever they wanted but we are leaving NOW! I am so glad I was able to get my mom home before she passed, she lived another 6 months with her family all around her. Please if you care about your loved one do not go here!

We moved to Fox Run in November of 2018, and I can honestly say that it is one of the best decisions we have ever made. There are so many things to do here. There are approximately 180 clubs and groups to get involved with. Whatever your interests are, you will find some others that share your interests. The amenities here include an indoor pool, an onsite medical center, 2 fitness centers, physical/occupational therapy, a hobby shop, and 6 restaurants, you can always find great food to eat here. There is independent living, assisted living, as well as skilled nursing and memory care. During the pandemic they took fantastic care of us. We had meals and mail delivered to our apartment door; we were able to get all the vaccines we needed without going outside. The new issue is her eating, my sister walked in found her sleeping covered in food with the bowl and more soup on the floor. They informed her earlier that if my mother needs help they will not help her.
