Going to Oakdale OBGYN? Bring a book. No, *write* a book. In fact, write a whole trilogy, read it, edit it, and then fax it to your agent using their 56k modem fax line because THAT's how much time you have before your appointment will actually be called.
Think I'm joking? Expect at LEAST a 90 minute wait in their waiting room, followed by another 30-45 minutes in the hellish limbo of one of their ramshackle examination rooms. Bring food, bring water, bring a pencil to stab yourself in the neck... you'll need at least some kind of sustenance to get you through the ordeal. I saw a skeleton back there last week and thought it was an anatomical model for research purposes... but no, it was a fellow patient who'd probably starved to death back in the early 90's.
While waiting (and waiting), expect to hear the witch-like cackles of their helpful "staff" floating in from somewhere off in the distant oblivion. Yes, they're having an absolute ball back there. In the meantime you showed up ten minutes early for your appointment, like a responsible dumbass which is now what you've effectively become.
Are the doctors good? Sure, when you can find them. In all seriousness this place overbooks itself to the point of sheer, disgusting greed. Your time means NOTHING to them. They're happy to let you sit there while they *unapologetically* fill their office with more people than the parking lot can hold. (And if you think I'm kidding, cruise past that parking lot).
I wish I could say this was a one-time experience but this is EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU GO. It doesn't matter what day, doesn't matter what time - Oakdale OBGYN ensures you get the full 2-3 hour experience of having your ass fall asleep while waiting for an appointment that takes about 10 minutes of actual time once a doctor shows up.
Having a baby? Do NOT use this place. Wish we didn't. read more
