The towels may be a bit scratchy & the hot water smells of iron, but this is an island lodge and not the Ritz. Plus, The Lodge is close to town & they have bikes which makes it easy to get anywhere. The restaurant was a total surprise - kudos to the chef, because the food was well prepared and delicious. The waiter Javeik, who is from from Jamaica, is a great guy and an excellent server. John (Johaan) is the manager and is incredible. He picked us up at the boat dock and took us back when it came time to leave. If you're planning a trip to Beaver Island, try to get a room at the Beaver Island Lodge. And have fun!!

The owners personality greeted us and went above and beyond in helping us with everything we needed. Weather rolled in our checkout day and all flights out were cancelled. Even the 4 ferry runs back to the mainland were turning away 30 plus passengers at a time. We called Vic and he came to our rescue, got one of the last rooms available ready for us to spend one more night. Again, can not recommend Emerald Island Inn enough!

Marie took care of everything and reached out the same day to ensure everything was going as planned. When we reached the campground Marie and her husband were extremely friendly. They told us about the best beaches to visit and some details about the town. They then showed us around the site. The accommodations were beautiful, comfortable, and dry. The bathrooms were large and very clean. They supply you with everything except clothing. They have towels, soap, toothbrushes, cookware, grills, hot plates, chairs, fire wood, and so much more. I'm not a person that enjoys camping, but my significant other loves it; this was the perfect way for us both to enjoy it. Highly recommend!
