I absolutely love him and the team because of there high level of professionalism and care, until today. Dr Franklin is out on leave, there is a fill- in dentist for him, Dr Valerio, and I had a younger hygienist whom I have never seen here before, Sarah. I came today for a routine cleaning. Long story short, for the first time ever, I had my teeth "measured" before my cleaning. Okay, no problem at all. She accidentally poked my gums a little too hard, which she actually apologized for, and of course it started bleeding. Still, not at all a problem. After measuring, she informed me that because my gums bled, that the next time, I needed a deep scaling cleaning that would require numbing. I pay out of pocket and politely asked more about the scaling and numbing and questioned about the gums bleeding maybe from her poking too hard? She seemed offended and told me that measuring gums is part of the cleaning routine and I said that I never had my gums measured here before a cleaning. "Well you should have" was the response and she abruptly left the room. (?) I waited a few minutes and Dr Valerio came in and asked "what's the problem"? I said, problem? There isn't a problem, I'm only here for a routine cleaning. Personally, I think the hygienist grossly exaggerated our conversation because he went on about how it's their responsibility for dental care etc which I truly agreed and understood but I felt I should have been allowed to ask questions. It was very clear they didn't think I should ask questions, as if I was questioning their authority. (?) I was a really surprised at what was unravelling here. When Dr Valerio left the room, Sarah took her seat and now I'm afraid that she is going to intentionally hurt me. I said "I'm only here for a cleaning and" then she cut me off, started escalating and said "You accused me of STABBING you" (I would never say that), she then proceeded to argue with me about our conversation and abruptly left the room again. This time Dr Valerio came in and said that I can't have my cleaning today because I'm arguing with the hygienist. Wow, I was just astonished. I'm in total disbelief that such a combative and unprofessional duo are employed at Dr. Franklin's office. Never again, I wont' be back and that sincerely bothers me because I really loved Dr Franklin and his team.

These dentists were beyond amazing, the comfort and care they provided was outstanding. They dimmed the lights, took their time, and even sang to him to get him to calm down during the procedure. He now asks to go to the dentist and never fears if work needs to be done. I wish it was this easy to get him to go the pediatrician's office. I will bring him here until they won't take him any longer.

I'll stick to facts here: was told by Dr Nikki and team that my 11 yr old daughter had two…read morecavities, on biting surface of back permanent molars that formed under sealants applied by a previous dentist. They said one was probably minor but they wouldn't know til they got under the sealant. Said the other wrapped around to the inside of the tooth. When I brought her in for the appointment, they wouldn't let me in the room with her. I pressed and they said it was office policy because kids do better without parents. I pressed further and said I wouldn't interact with my daughter and she wouldn't know I was there I just wanted to stick my head in and check on her. They said no, because other parents would see that and want to come back as well. Against my better judgment (because I'd heard some questionable things about the practice) I agreed to go on with the procedure. Then I started reading reviews that said Dr Nikki had proposed to fill cavities that didn't exist and proposed sedation that wasn't necessary. I had also heard directly from a friend that Dr Nikki over sedated her child. I asked to see the X-rays showing my daughters cavities. They didn't have any - the 6 month prior X-rays showed nothing. They said biting surface cavities wouldn't show on X-rays and that the cavities were identified clinically. I asked how that was possible if the cavities had formed under the old sealants and they didn't know how big they were. They said the cavities were identified because the explorer tool stuck in the tooth. My daughter had not been experiencing any pain and had never before had cavities. Billed $404 for the 2 fillings including $86 for laughing gas. I am not a dentist. Maybe these fillings were necessary and there's nothing suspicious here. The one star review is for refusing to let me poke my head in to check on my daughter during the procedure. People can read the other reviews on healthgrades.com and make up their own minds about the rest. We won't be returning to this office.
