Someone came into my apartment, rolled up a door mat, and stuck it into the toilet. The management did NOT do anything to resolve this issue
Grace L.

I think this management does not even deserve one star; it is absolutely the WORST. I never write reviews, but Oak Leaf Management (2232 Bellefontaine) has continuously disappointed me and my roommate. Please avoid this management if possible. One day, I came home to this picture: a doormat rolled up and stuck in my toilet, not to mention that the floor was also very dirty. Someone got into my house and damaged my property. I called the management about this situation, but they never did anything to solve this issue. They told me that they will find the culprit, but I never got any follow up. I called them multiple times and left messages, and they were very slow to respond. They said that it was impossible to find the culprit. I felt like they barely tried because they had forgotten about it when I called again a month later. They did not do anything to reimburse my damaged property. Also, my roommate and I have constantly told the management for house maintenance (broken oven which didn't work since move-in, broken fence, peeling bathtub, weed growing into the house wall, leaking ceilings, etc.) Never ever did they do anything to fix it even though my roommate and I have let the management many times. They claimed that before we moved in, the apartment would be cleaned and fixed--it is all a lie. Not to mention that if someone does come "fix" the apartment, the maintenance guy never leaves a note and always leaves a huge mess for me to clean up. I know the rent may be cheaper than other apartments in Houston, but AVOID at all cost. This is the worst apartment experience I've had.

Westchase District - Cut to the westchase

Westchase District

Westchase

Westchase is hardly the sexiest neighborhood in Houston, but strangely enough it still remains as…read moreone of my favorites. I still find myself here often and in a perfect world, I would have considered living in what I consider one of the few cross sectional areas of the city. Some immediate thoughts come to mind: * It is in the heart of one of the more active areas of the city, directly bordering Sharpstown / Alief, Royal Oaks Country Club (#1), and the International District. It is a close enough to Chinatown and a short drive away from the Memorial area. * This is primarily a business district, which has special privileges over other neighborhoods and is primed with tax incentives for the businesses operating within the area. It's sort of like Energy Corridor, but less of a suburban feel and more of a pothole road riddled, corporate office vibe. * Similarly to the Galleria, there are hotels all over. The last decade has seen tremendous growth in the hotel side (#8) and it doesn't appear to be slowing down. In fact, some of the best hotel stays / deals in the city are going to be in this area. * Some notable places / businesses exist here: Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (#2), Nippan 大道 Daido (#3) one of the only Japanese markets in the city, the legendary karaoke haven of Genji's (#4), two of the city's best Persian spots in Avesta (#5) and Kasra (#6), as well as the Original Marini's Empanada House (#7). __________ (#1) In case I don't write a review for this joint: a big thumbs down on that 3K+ HOA! Which way is better? You decide. (Barbi already has) Westchase is a pretty wonderful district of Houston, food wise, and there are so many great treats and gems and foods over here, and a lot of wonderful Middle Eastern stuff as well as Latin stuff and Asian stuff, including plenty of Vietnamese options since it's very close to Alief, as well as lots of Japanese options because for some reason it's a distinctly Japanese-flavoured part of Houston. Much of the time, the people of Westchase are not the friendliest, including some Westchase-and-nearby Yelpers that send me hate mail and write hate reviews, and the traffic is not the best at the best of times, although the police don't seem to "police" the traffic so for people that like to speed, it's a relaxing area to drive in (except for the awful texting drivers smashing into you at any given time), but it's still easily a five-star neighbourhood by any stretch of the imagination, largely because of the food and the proximity to Chinatown and Vietnamesetown. Here's all my fave food in Houston, much of which is either in Westchase or within 3 miles of Westchase.
